My sons and I will be staying at Bay Lake Tower in July. We have a 2-bedroom villa reserved with a theme park view. I did put in a request for as high up as we could get in the resort! 🙂 My cousin and her granddaughter will be staying in a studio in Bay Lake Tower. Thanks for sharing this video! 😀
Oooohhh, since it's just my partner and I traveling we've never considered a two bedroom but I've seen some room tours and they look fabulous! Hopefully that request works out for you. If the room you are assigned is lower, it never hurts to ask the front desk to see if anything else is available higher up!
I may have mentioned my thoughts on BLT before but we stayed there last summer (me, husband, one kid) and enjoyed it. I liked the pools a lot more than I thought I would … BLT water slide was awesome. And can’t beat the location. The room, though, was unimpressive. We’d moved over from Pop in a split stay and the use of space as well as just the newer furnishings made that room nicer, in my opinion, than the “deluxe” BLT. I don’t care that much about room feel, though, so I’d defiantly stay BLT again, just for the pool and location. And I am sure that, with the upcoming refurbishment, BLT rooms will be much improved, giving that deluxe feeling. I think I also just saw the kitchen as wasted space for us. Although, on the other hand, if we had stayed longer (we did 2 nights) it would have been really nice to have room for groceries and stuff. So, in other circumstances, I’d probably be raving about the kitchenette! 😅
Ya it's up for refurb next year so I'm really curious about the room updates. I don't think BLT is in as rough shape as say BoardWalk, but I agree parts of the room are unimpressive. It's totally fine/functional/serviceable, but not memorable in many aspects. I love that light up mickey head at the pool on the slide tower! So fun to look at if your room looks that direction. I'll be realllllyy intrigued to see if they rearrange the studios to not have that galley style kitchen, as you rightfully point out it does take up space that's not part of the common/living area and I'm not sure how heavily utilized it is? I don't know if those walls are structural at all though... if they aren't I could see them re-doing the whole layout in there to make the kitchen less separate. BLT has also consistently been one of the quietest places we've stayed on property... that might just be good luck, but part of me thinks that additional wall from the kitchen may help dampen noise before it hits the living space? Anyway, I think a lot of us are excitedly awaiting refurb details. But whatever happens, I'll always love that walk to MK haha. Thanks for sharing, Johna!! I hope you're doing well :)
Great tour. I think BLT is the only DVC I've stayed in so far that has the separate kitchen. More than the others, it feels like a studio apartment. I'm glad you're so comfortable there. I'm sure I'll get back at some point. The points chart is reasonable for its location. But I really prefer GF as my go-to MK resort.
Ya; you've stayed in more than I have, but that kitchen layout I'm pretty sure is unique. It definitely does feel more like a studio apartment... nothing against the more standard kitchenettes, I just like that compartmentalized space I guess haha. We still have yet to stay at VGF.... someday! Just hard for me to give up the walking to MK in 10 minutes factor hahaha
@@PixieDustPhD I walk fast and something tells me you do too. The MK walk is about twice as long, so like 12 minutes instead of six? Not that big a deal. But the BLT walk is more engaging. A good part of it is still on resort property--walking through the parking lot, and then you cross a street (I always think it's weird to think that SM abuts an ordinary roadway) and you're almost at the dedicated security checkpoint. You never feel like you're away from anything. The MK walk, on the other hand, has a chunk where you're not near anything in particular, just a lot of foliage and the monorail. I could actually see someone not feeling comfortable walking it alone at night. I'd say the BLT walk is comparable to the walk to Epcot from BW and BC, but the MK walk isn't. Speaking of walks, did you ever do the walk to HS from BW/BC? I did it for the first time last summer. It was fun. Too long for most people--definitely a solid 15 minutes-- but fun if you enjoy walking and are not bothered by the heat, like me!
@@nycp1969 I've only done that MK to GF walk once, and it was like proper mid day, boiling sun, in September... brutal. I think it was like 16-18 minutes for us? Which ya know not in the boiling sun would be fine, but at the time it felt SO MUCH longer than the BLT walk hahah. BLT for me from our door to tapping in is more like 10 minutes, but ya i do love the little security hut that never has a line. And I don't mind that the walk to/from GF is mostly just foliage, I just desire some shade haha. I did have a friend ask about doing it alone at night, and I mean you're at Disney so like it's generally fine is my opinion. But she lives uh um quite the sheltered life so I did kind of nicely suggest maybe she take the boat instead. We did to HS walk from BWV! It was great. Pretty not crowded, and way faster than the boat. But ya for sure longer than BLT to MK, I think like you said too long for most people. But definitely to our advantage!
I love staying at Bay Lake Tower. The convenience to Magic Kingdom is everything for me. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask!
