In Part -IV of Our Indian Constitution in DPSP U/A-44 UCC for the country has been mentioned. It states for Uniform Civil law accross the country for everyone. Challanges : 1. Diversity and Cultural Heterogeneity leading to diverse laws practiced. Eg. Hindu Marriage Law, Muslim Shariart Laws etc 2. Fear of Minorities of loosing their voice. 3. Religious heterogeneity also leading to rift among section of society. Eg . Karnataka Hijab Case etc 4. Complex process owing to large population of 139 cr. Suggestions: 1. Govt should create a blue print and roadmap on collection of data , reserch papers, Surveying citizens , Taking Views and references of religious sections of society to come with a consensus. 2.. One nation one law will reduce the legal complexity. Eg - USA / UK has one. 3. Can be tried on pilot basis in small states and then implement across . Eg - Implemented in Goa since 1961 Conclusion: Looking at the current scenario, We are among one of the largest Socio religious diverse country and our constitution is a living document to navigate through balancing intrest of all sections accordingly we should device a way to bring a UCC without affecting interests of any section of society.

Goa UCC was applied by Portuguese in 1860 and it was continued after independence with some modifications .
