These may be the best way to get a scenic tourist railroad going. Either finding one to restore or building it from a car as the originals were. As old retired rails are often not rated for heavy loads anymore, this may pass safety limits. Rail cars are cheaper to fuel and maintain than locomotives. They are a novelty and nostalgic for the tourist. Expansion1 = restoring another car for 120% more paying passengers. Expansion 2 = light industrial locomotive and cars after the business plan is solid.
My son loves trains 🚆🛤🚋🚞🚝🚊🚉🚈🚇🚅🚄🚃🚂 especially railcars like that one he thinks they are highly underrated rail transportation vehicles and should all be preserved, restored, and put back into service on lines that are not used anymore carrying both passengers and mail. He also thinks that Siemens, Progress Rail, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build clones of these and the departments of transportation should rebuild lines that were abandoned and/or removed and run these on them.
We were there a few times I never knew they had one of these! Cool!

That's the great thing about railcars, they're a complete train!
My special needs son agrees with you on that completely!
The car was actually originally built for the Chateaugay Railroad in New York.
That’s pretty cool 👍

Nice video!
I got to ride on it in July 2014.
