As a FORD Fan this win never loses it's enjoyment ! To have both Moffat team race cars go side by side on conrod straight has to be the ultimate smack in the face to all Holden drivers and fans then and 46 yrs later :)
I think the team's would have known and acknowledged that too. He could have floored it 8 or 10 laps earlier and cruised home for the win himself, easily. But sportsmanship and team racing orders said he weren't to. I'll give him the win though...
Yes those last 8 odd laps must have got his blood boiling, I too have always thought of this as a Bondy win. The 1-2 line up down Conrod was Bond demonstrating how easily he could have taken the flag.
how things have changed, with safety cars, you don't have cars sitting in the middle of the track with other cars going flat chat past them and different classes plus the substantial speed differences between cars

these were real cars you could actually go and buy. road cars endurance racing will always be more exciting than watching 50 of the same race chassis with different skins parade around the track in one big circus.
@@6226superhurricanewell you could buy the car they were based on . Falcons had 525 hp Torana 400hp approximately. The road cars you say people could buy had under 220hp Falcon and around 230hp Torana.
