Best DIY video on this subject. I watched the video, ordered the motor/pump assembly, and then watched the video a few more times while waiting for the part to arrive. Once the part was here, I completed the repair in very little time and with excellent results. Thank you so much.
Hello Repairclinic, This seems to heave been published as early as Jan, 2013. However this helped me to fix my LG dishwasher right now in Jan 2016. Thanks from the depth of my heart for posting this video. Instead of spending close to $700 for a new dishwasher I fixed my old (just 2 years old) dishwasher for just $200. One difficulty I had was seating the new pump assembly. I still have it raised on one quarter but functions well. So I left it like that. Numerous thanks, again. Jay
I just did this replacement to our LG-6920ST. As mentioned somewhere in this thread the part number (AJH31248602) is the old part number and has been replaced by the AJH31248604 unit shown here. It took a little over an hour without rushing.. It went smoothly. I ran a test "normal" cycle to get rid of any assembly lube, it worked perfectly. The difference in noise level was profound. You can hardly hear it now! It was a little over $200 with shipping vs around $800.00 for a new one. Money and time well spent. Couple of notes of difference on the video, the grounding screws are different on the new motor assembly. Just attach the 2 ground wires to the center hole. There isn't a visible 3rd ground going to the pump motor as shown in the video. 2nd pointer, make sure to get the bottom tab all the way in before snapping the two "top" tabs in place. The bottom tab is bigger and harder to snap in place. Once the bottom one is clipped around the lip of the washing compartment the gasket will properly compress and seal when you snap the top two in place. The two clips you screw in place are to keep the pump assembly from coming loose. Kind of a safety for the two smaller tabs. Other than that replacement is exactly as shown in the video. Super well worth the $$ and time. Did I mention how quiet it is now? Wow.. BTW, why the heck would you want a new one to connect via WiFi? I'm an IT connected kind of guy but the last thing I want is to have my dishwasher, fridge or stove hacked or spying on me!
This is an outstanding video on the LG pump motor replacement. I am not physically able to do the job but I can see now why the service technician I hired is charging $300.00 ti remove and replace the part. LG has a ten year warranty on the motor so they reimburse the money spent on the motor. FYI - The motor failed on my machine after 20 months of service. Not a great endorsement of the LG brand. I purchased the LG LDF5678ST dishwasher.
Great video..took about 2.5 hours after some additional leveling and wham...new Dishwasher...thank you...saved about $500 for parts and install from a repairman quote...got it for $160 online
I just completed this motor and pump replacement... washing the first load as I write this. THANK YOU for providing this outstanding video. I had a bit of a problem getting the motor/gasket to seat properly in the bottom of the tub, but after a little patience I got it in. Otherwise, everything went perfectly. Thanks again!
One suggestion I would make is to tun on the water and power prior to putting the insulation and kick plate back on then run a cycle to check for any leakage around the new seal and from the water line.
Thank you so much for this video, it really helped! Even though in the end it felt like an easy job, I believe it is in part because I felt like I had backup.
Extremely well made video and completely helpful for this project. You actually get the info you need, all of it. I may still want someone else to do it but this video even helped with that decision.
What a great video. You all are doing an incredible service with this tutorial. I was getting an OE error and just replaced the pump by itself ($42 part). Running the first test wash now so wish me luck and thanks again!
Never mind I figured it out! It's the white box on the motor assembly and its for sale at the repairclinic website, thanks! Gonna try this to fix the the OE error I've been getting on mine as well.
my LG stopped getting water into the dishwasher. also the blades arent spinning. im hoping its the motor assembly. any advice?? regardless - this is an excellent tutorial. very easy step by step video. def recommended.
I used this part in my dishwasher. It's like a have a brand new dishwasher now. One thing to consider is that if you need to replace any part that is included in the pump and motor assembly, just spend the extra money and replace the whole thing. If one part went bad then the others are probably not too far behind.
Your website sells AJH31248608 in place of AJH31248604. Things that are different are the new one has a cover at the bottom and there is no green ground wire attached that would go in the middle. How is the new part assembled?
I would recommend using the repair help section of our website (link in the description). If you enter your dishwasher's model number there you'll have access to model, part, and symptom specific repair help.
I replaced the gasket and it is leaking. I haven't come across anything yet that helps trouble shoot this on video. We made sure the lip/rim of the tub was free of debris before replacing as well as on the sump pump rim. I forgot to mention that I have been told that the sump pump and gasket assembly is not available to purchase as one. All parts to repair would have to be purchased individually for the model LDF7811BB.

i have an lg dish washer throwing an le code, but i can't find a model number anywhere. all i know is my house is eight years old and its not the original dishwasher.will this sump fit any lg?
LG dishwasher Model # LDF7932ST unusual noise after water enters tank , at end of cycle when opening door a misty really burn smell, what part to replace according to your best advice
Great video!!! My machine fills, but when the wash cycle starts a short buzzing can be heard from within the machine, like a motor is trying to start, but is stuck. It does this a few times and then the LE code comes up. I checked and the impeller looks ok and is not broken or obstructed, however, the impeller mount does not spin freely. My machine is a ldf6920st. Do I need the whole Pump and Motor Assembly or just the Circulation Pump Motor?
Consider replacing the motor, if you want to save money. We recommend that you also replace the shaft seal part number 1267457 (www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Gasket/3920ED4009B/1267457?TLSID=1773), in case it was leaking and caused the motor to seize up.
Our machine has a 2H error. I understand this is not an error code, but showing a two hour delay. However it will not fill or run. I can hear a grinding sound when it's on. We replaced the water inlet valve, but that wasn't the issue. Our LG tech diagnosed it over the phone as a broken sump assembly but his charge would be $465.00 to fix it so we'll either repair ourselves or buy a new machine. My question is, without the LE code, should we go ahead and replace the sump assembly?
Well, we replaced the sump today. Didn't fix our problem but the video sure helped. It sounds like it's running but nothing happens, it doesn't fill, drain, wash, nothing. And the 2H code is still in the display. Dang. LGF6920ST
Love this repair UA-cam. I don't know if I need to replace the pump yet? I keep getting an OE message on LG Dishwasher. Is it possible just to see a UA-cam Video where you open / access the pump to remove whatever is blocking the pump.
Megan McTaggart OE stands for drain error. You may have a clogged or defective drain pump. Our LG dishwasher disassembly video may have additional information you will find helpful. www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/Dishwasher-Repair-Help?TLSID=1773

There was a question asked about 6 months ago regarding the part AJH31248608 and AJH31248604 being virtually the same pump. There was no answer...could you answer? thanks
I replaced the sump and motor assembly on my LG washer today and now when I turn it on there is no water entering the machine. Yes I turned the water line back o. Please help!
The most likely cause is that a wire got knocked off somewhere. Recheck the wires especially at the water valve and make sure all the wires are on correctly.
I’ve now used this video 3 times to replace the motor in my dishwasher. Great video!
You're welcome!

He says “disposer.” There is no disposer. There is a disposal
But THE DISPOSER would be a a medium intense supervillain though
You don't have to remove the dishwasher if you leave it to a professional
