Getting rid of the noise on my DIY 2DOF motion sim

- Hey all! Long time no see.
I finally had some time to get cracking on the simrig again, this time I wanted to fix the annoying beep that it produced, which meant some more work that I thought initially. I hope the video is informative and not boring, I tried to keep it on the light side.
Recap of what I did to solve the issue that I was facing:
- Moved to an STM32 F4 instead of the Arduino Uno
- Instead of using potentiometers, Now I'm using a sensor that can measure a magnetic field directly on the output shafts of the servo motors.
- I rewrote the entire software for the STM to make it more reliable and also be ready for some cool upgrades that I have planned.
All in all this work took a long time, working on and off and mostly I ran into lot's of problems like I2C busses that failed or other weird communication bugs. The Arduino platform is much more forgiving at those moments. But now I'm happy that I'm at this point, which will be a good starting point for more things to come!

Make it on all 4 sides like the real motion sims. That would be sick to see. You're on the way to make something super expensive into something super affordable! Thank you!
Awesome! It's way better without the noise. Keep up the good work.
Great work. Love the track Music.
i discovered the AS5600 sensor too last year. i ordered a dozen since theyre so cheap. i experimented with manual programing mode. didnt end up installing them though. awesome tech and so cheap!
I just bought some for my next project. They seem more useful then the ones I've been using so far!
@@LogLeg that’s awesome!!
Great job!
Hey, I just noticed the Pedals look like they also have some active feedback? If that's the case, I'd love to see a video on how that was done!
this is amazing! id love to built a sim pretty similar and i plan on using it mostly with assetto corsa. would it be possible to get all the same components and "some what" plug in play with your software/ code? regardless this is such a cool project thanks for uploading it!
Came back from the original video, it’s been a while! Wonder if you’ll have more videos on this
Nice work. I wonder if TL Smoothers would help noise reduction without having to rewrite code for a different board.
It's not just the noise I'm solving with this. I'm now also able to debug my code and I'm thinking of adding a small display for some configuration menu's. It's nice to have a platform that's a little bit overpowered so that I can add anything I want.
This video is awesome and you have to come out with followings
my problem is the motor does not move when it comes to Live for speed.. Simtools engine and Manager is Game running,, not moving motor 9:26 9:26
9:18 hopefully soon
Hello and great job friend. Can you give me a purchase link for the same motors you used? Thank you so much
Hello, they are windshield wiper motors, right? And did you disassemble them to modify something so that they work with sim tools? I would appreciate it if you leave me a link to purchase the engines. Thanks very much buddy
Hey! Yes, they are from the scrapyard, they are intended for VW transporters (Valeo 404.780) I added the magnet in the back to measure the rotation of the axle and isolated the chassis. That's why you can see a red wire coming out of the shell. Normally the housing of the motor is connected to the - of the car battery, but in my rig both motors are connected to the metal frame and when they need to turn in opposite directions they would short out.
Het is duidelijk van jouw stem dat je uit Nederland komt. LOL.
Zier er top uit.
Letsgooo
kun je de code open corce maken
Can you have that design?
I really into your rig and I wanted to build it
Hey! Thank you, I don't have any designs for my rig. I just put it together from old stuff that I had. If you really want to build something for yourself I advise you to use something like SimHub which has everything made to be DIY'd or something like an SFX100 kit.
@LogLeg cool , thanks I already tested it before but for the motion I started asking you as an expert first
Hello. What software do you use ?
I make my own.
@LogLeg i have a 2dof platform but i am not happy with the software and so i was trying to understand if i can use another one
@@LogLeg kun je asjeblieft een totorial maaken waar je wimpel uitlegt hoe je de code moet gebruiken en hem open corce maakt?
