How to Reset Maintenance Required Light on Honda Accord 2003-2007

The Maintenance Required light is a reminder it's time to change the oil. After being reset it will turn on after 6000 miles and it is very easy to reset. Others have said the light turns on after 7500 miles but our light turned on right after 6000. It may be different depending on the model of your car. This model is a 2003 EX V6 automatic.
Make sure the Trip Meter is on "Trip A".
Hold the trip reset button down, do not let go.
Turn the key to the "II" position.
Keep holding down the trip button until light turns off.

Please note that the 4 cylinder motor Hondas have the 10,000 mile interval oil change, so the stupid light comes on approximately then.

Just keep pushing the reset button. It will cycle through the different settings.

This worked for years, until recently. The trip A and B both reset. Maint Req'd stays on constantly, even though we have followed the instructions that we always used, (these, on page 66 of the manual!)! So, we are now presuming there is a problem in that system.
It sucks so bad, that after 45 years of Hondas, we just might quit and go Ford, which we have 4 of in our fleet of 6 family vehicles.
