    What a great video! You have a lot in common with Jessica at Three Rivers Homestead. A cool, calm demeanor combined with mad cooking and canning skills. Also the freely sharing of your recipes.
    ❤ Thank you so much!

    I can't wait until spring so you can film outside and I can see your garden set up and your property and where all your animals are and everything. I'm so excited!

      Love the meal ideas. I am doing similar to you re the pantry challenge - buying mostly dairy and some fresh veg. But so far I have been very good about only getting what I go to the store for. Trying really hard to use what we have. Have a great day

    I love this! I'm just starting my homesteading journey, as I'm now a stay at home mom due to chaos circumstances. 😂 this is incredible. I hope to one day do this myself! Please do more of these videos!

    I had to grab a jar of cowboy candy out of the pantry to try in my cornbread. Thank you for the idea! I like to eat it with cream cheese and crackers normally🤤. Yes, i say keep these style of videos coming love them!!!

    I too am following the pantry challenge loosely. Sharing your ideas is much appreciated and so fun to watch, especially since it's been so cold and snowy here... minus 14 today and over a foot and a half of snow on the ground. So grateful we keep a stocked pantry with all the goodness of summers harvest
    I'm always sharing with my daughters and nieces the importance of this. Sending your videos to them as they are close to the same season of life that you are, so I consider you a great example for them. Thank you for sharing Abbey. Your videos are well done. Blessings to you, your husband and your homestead. ❤

    I really want to dehydrate kale this year. I usually keep it in the freezer and crumble it in the bag before using it

    I love using cheese rinds. I stashed them in a freezer bag in the freezer. I always look forward to your recipes and the one that really caught my eye today was using the masa harina flour for the cornbread because as you said, I don’t go through that much flour making tacos so that was a big plus for me.

    Everything looks great, especially your soup! I'm so glad your showcasing dehydrated foods. Most use freeze dried, but most common homesteaders still dehydrate. I love your videos and recipes, thank you for sharing!

    Did you know that you can make mayonnaise with the aquafaba from beans? It is an excellent replacer for egg whites.

    • @abbeyverigin
      @abbeyverigin  8 місяців тому

      I’ve heard of using aquafaba for all sorts of things, I have yet to try it myself though

    OK, I have to ask. Your sink is lovely and I have been thinking about getting a copper sink. Is it a pain to keep nice? Everyone I talk to says not to do it lol. I just love the look of the copper. It's very warm.

    • @abbeyverigin
      @abbeyverigin  7 місяців тому +1

      I absolutely love it. If you leave anything acidic sitting in it you’ll see marks where the patina has worn off. Occasionally I’ll scrub the inside with barkeepers friend and then allow it to patina again but how it looks in this video is how it looks most of the time. Everyone told us not to as well but I’m so glad we did go with it!

    Do you do instant beans. These are fully cooked beas that are dehydrated and/or freeze drying them. Another way to gave beans.

      @abbeyverigin  8 місяців тому

      I haven’t tried that before. Do they rehydrate quickly?

    Does the parmesan cheese melt when in soups and stuff?
    Also, how do you dehydrate your kale?

    • @abbeyverigin
      @abbeyverigin  7 місяців тому

      Since it’s just the rind it doesn’t melt a whole lot in, maybe a bit, it more just adds the flavor. For the kale I wash and tear it into pieces then dry at 115 until it’s crisp. Usually around 8 hours id say. Depends how full you pack your trays
