I typed up the pattern from the video in case anyone wants it: Mini Hanging Monstera Plant Planter Start with a magic ring, ch3 and make 13 dc around (14) Row 2: Slip Stich to top of ch3, chain 3 & 2dc around (28) Row 3-5: Slip Stich to top of ch3, chain 3 & 1dc around (28) Row 6: Slip Stich around then chain 30 & tie off Count 9 stitches from the 1st hanging cord and attach your yarn. Chain 30 to create the 2nd hanging cord Count 9 stitches from the 1st hanging cord and attach your yarn. Chain 30 to create the 3rd hanging cord Soil Start with a magic ring, ch3 and make 13 dc around (14) Row 2: Slip Stich to top of ch3, chain 3 & 2dc around (28) Monstera Vines Chain 5, 1dc into 1st chain *Chain 2, 1dc into same chain as above, Twice Chain 2, 1tr into same chain as above Chain 2 & ss into 1st chain of the chain 2 1tr into the chain space at base of leaf, with the dc’s above Chain 2, 1dc into same chain as above, Three times Chain 4 & ss into the chain space at base of leaf, with the dc’s above* Chain 14 and make 1dc in the 5th stich from hook and repeat * Make four vines, two with 3 leaves and 2 with 4 leaves Finishing & Assembly Gather all strings together and pull through center of soil piece, make a knot to secure in place. Lightly stuff the pot and attach the soil to the top by sewing the outer loop of the soil to the inner loop of the pot. Gather the three hanging cords and make a knot at the top of the chains to secure together as one.
I've made several of these. Here are some changes I suggest. First, start each round with a standing double crochet instead of a chain 3. Next, use a strip of cardstock to support the side walls of the pot before adding poly-fil. This will give you straighter edges and a more realistic planter look. Next, do a single crochet border around the leaves instead of a slip stitch, again this gives them a smoother look. The last change I made was to thread the chains used for hanging through a bead at the top, braid a few inches of the remaining tails and pass them back through the bead to make a loop for hanging.
@@ritajordan6598 I wouldn’t say it’s a “new design” at all. I simply chose a few different stitches for smoother appearance (which are all outlined above) and added a bead for the hanger. My recommendation would be to follow the original pattern in the video first so you have a better understanding of the changes I made and then implement those changes if you feel like it. I’m not going to re-write someone else’s pattern right here in the comments of their own video. I feel that would be rude.
Guys just a tip, when you’re working on the plant pot, after you finish the 1st two rounds, work the 3rd round in back loop only. 4th round onwards carry on as usual. Working the 3rd round in back loop only helps the pot take a firmer, more definite shape. Great tutorial btw, loved it!!
I put a piece of toilet rolling in the pot to keep it in shape, easier to sew the top part on too. Beautiful little pattern. And I live this video as its to the point and no fussing about. Brilliant
This is so cute! I've only made the pot so far, an was FLABBERGASTED at how you created the magic loop. I've never seen it done like that an my mouth was open the whole time cause i was shocked i didnt struggle for 5 minutes trying to make a magic ring! THANK YOU.
Oh my gosh it’s so simple, I’ve struggled with learning crochète for basically my whole life, but I think I’m starting to get it because I actually understood all of this and genuinely think I can do it, which is amazing because I really want to get into crocheting

Thank you so much, this video was absolute hell to follow for someone who likes to read instructions. Very annoying to have to look up and follow instead of just reading along
Just made one the other day! Super simple and really fun to make, I made a few extra vines and one longer one, then used a binder ring to hang it by so it can easily open and close around the rear view mirror! Can’t wait to gift it and a few other projects to my friends 😊😊😊
These are super easy to make. I'm on my third one. Took me a couple hours to whip it up. It's easy and lovely! Everyone I have given one too were very appreciative. Thank you so much for the tutorial!
Just finished this and I love it! I added a few more of the leaf strands to my preference. I love the fullness it added ❤ overall absolutely amazing pattern and super simple instructions!
