I went to Paris many years ago and visited Napoleon’s Grave site. It was so beautiful considering what the last years of his life were. Napoleon is my favorite early historical person. To get middle school kids interested in history, I would especially the girls tell them the deep love he has for Josephine and the lovely soaps and perfumes he would give her. History has a wonderful way to help you understand the character of these people both European and American history when you get into the thinking of those that are mentioned. You have to see where a country begins to understand where it is now.
