Rüdiger Beauvais of Munich is at home all over the world. He used to build power plants. Today he assesses them as an employee of Allianz insurance company.
His report determines whether and under what conditions a plant will be insured. Today he is traveling through Andalusia. Iberdrola power company wants to expand the insurance protection for one of its power plants. But before Allianz signs a contract, it wants to know the risks. Armed with questionnaires and a notebook, Rüdiger Beauvais inspects everything from equipment to duty rosters. Miltiades Arsenopoulos accompanied the risk engineer on his rounds.

it depends,the risk engineer can conclude if the fire pumps are able to run or not by many ways:checking ther maintenance procedures, or the number of hours they have been runing, see if they were tested weekly by the plant operators or just forgotten anyway, it would be a good move to take a look at the pump switch, and make sure that it is on "AUTO" Position, if it is in" MANUAL" or " OFF", than the fire protection department is in trouble, no matter if the pumps are in good shape or not

i would like to know whether the insurance company usually test the water pump systems etc manually.
