1/3 scale Piper J-3 Cub powered by Saito FG-36 gas engine.
5000RPM @ 22x8 prop.
Weight - 10500 grams.
Made from scrap and based loosely on Bob Nelitz's plan.
Wingspan expanded by 4" each side.
Stall speed about 28km/h :) Cruising speed 45km/h, and max 70km/h
Flies GREAT, like a real thing :)

This is truly a beautiful 1/3 scale kit from the Piper Cub. Here, as a model kite, I get to see this specimen fly enormously happily. Wants to build a Piper Cub of Sig the 1/4 scale with an old Laser 150 4-stroke from England.

Hi,
The size of an engine was intentional. Original Piper Cub is also "underpowered"
Flies very well, short takeoff ..... Landing is problematic, it still wants to fly :)

Hi, It stoped by itself :( Fuel pump by Saito is rather weak. No problems with heat, even the prop is much too large :) But scale :)
