- At night the hunters of Africa come out of their hiding places. The film presents the different deadly strategies that lions, leopards and hyenas use to hunt at night. They are equipped with „super senses“, that enable them to not only hear and smell their prey, but to find them in complete darkness while staying invisible themselves. Extremely light sensitive lenses and thermal-cameras enable us to see their nightly world and help to understand why these animals are truly Africa’s perfect hunters.

Great documentary the only part that makes me upset is the humans sending out cows to graze eating up all the cover for the lions or just flat out killing them. These human encroachments need to be stopped so we don't lose these beautiful documentaries on lions.

The scariest thing to hear as a child is the scream of Hyenas at night coming from the mountains surrounding my home; however, when the daylight comes, hiding from our parents, my friends and I venture out to the same mountain to pick up wild fruits and berries; that is the beauty of being a child, your fear has a limited lifespan!
Though predators have to eat, I can’t help but cheer for the prey when they escape to live another day! 💪🙏✊

I couldn't even begin to imagine how exhausting it must be as a prey. Neither day nor night of very little rest/sleep would do me in as a human. They have become so acclimated to their environment. Just, Wow.
And one day your luck runs out. But that's how it is for every one of them. Nature is indeed brutal. Every day you might fall sick, sustain and injury or just grow older. Any of these could indicate you might be an easy meal.
I agree… I can’t imagine, even awake, and alert they’re constantly on edge. But even predators have an extremely tough life. Lion cubs have a high mortality rate of around 80%, with only 1-8 actually making it to adulthood. Leopards, cheetah, painted wolves all have high mortality rates as well. Not only from other predators, but herbivores, and humans as well. The African savanna is an unforgiving place when it comes to survival.

My favourite big cat is definitely the leopard. Amazingly strong and agile. The feats I've seen them do are awesome. Dropping on 2 prey from above maybe 30-40feet, hauling animals at least their body weight high up a tree. Plus they are absolutely gorgeous 2 look at. It is their abilities that win it 4 me. ❤

I like the night mode with the use of the thermal camera. What is the name of that coalition of 6 male lions?! The Zebras are very clever and move towards the manyattas knowing that the lions will not dare stray close to human settlement. How did that lightning bolt start a fire 😎?! 40:45 That Masai is grazing his cows at the Masai Mara National Reserve, the 7th wonder of the world which is in Kenya, my country!
then they kill the lions for attacking the herd they're illegally grazing on the reserve, how idiotic and selfish of them! All because why? they don't or can't feed their own livestock on the land they own they cheat and then retaliate when a lion attacks. Horrible

Hyenas are a horrible necessity that keeps the savannas "clean." However, this IS one creature whose aggression makes them extremely dangerous and their numbers MUST BE COMPLETELY CONTROLLED BY " CULLING. "

It infuriates me on how the cattle graze unlawfully with no punishment or concern for what it’s doing to the wildlife!! It’s just so extremely disrespectful not to care about anything but yourselves and then killing the wildlife when they shouldn’t even be there when their animals are consuming everything in sight!! It’s infuriating!!
Just amazing the narrator said the stars on the FIRMAMENT, did anyone else notice or did it go right over your heads as you still think you are spinning right now on a space water ball. LOL.. please wake up so we can take back our power from these people running the world. And notice all the shots of the stars moving all at the same time making its circle across the night sky like he wanted to show the viewer the truth. CREATION IS BEAUTIFUL nothing you viewed in this video could come from an explosion.(how many lines did that jesuit priest( Georges Lemaitre) do before he came up with the big bang theory still not proven.

The King of the Serengeti isn't actually that amazing after All, He sleeps all day then come night wanders off across his Territory Pi*sing on everything whilst the Females are Raising the Youngsters. Then they have to go out and bring Dinner Home for the Lazy Lion that strolls back in taking what he wants first before he wanders off to sleep again for another 20hrs. Seriously who named him the King?
The ranchers over there need to keep their cattle in electric fenced areas at night. Please don’t murder all the lions to extinction. Between angry ranchers and male lions murdering cubs in pride take-overs, I think the lions will be extinct in the next 20-30 years if something drastic isn’t done. So so sad.
