Scalarworks is awesome 👍 I bought the leap 11 and ames bundle from them and it literally came the next day. Opening the box felt like xmas. Great packaging and came with some cool swag/tools. For $460 it's a great deal. Glad they fixed it for you.
Lol. It’s nuts you posted this today. Yesterday I was searching for info on the AEMS and came across your video. It was the only video that made be think twice about both products. Lol, now you posted this. I’ll take this as a sign that I should buy it.
Thanks for the specs! The Leap 11 is almost exactly the same height with your adapter plate. I'm guessing their Leap 01 1.93 mount with your AMMJ adapter plate would probably be the same as how I have the Leap 11 with a .5" riser under it.
@@archangelconcepts5508 I have a short neck I can’t really go taller than the 2.26 but I have had people send me the aems on an adapter with a unity fast mount. If it works for you it works, it’s fun to fine tune the setups but I a totally in love with scalerworks.
As you can see my other sbr has that same set up but the Unity flip to center still lines up great even with the extra .5" I put under the Leap 11. It's not perfectly centered like with the 2.26 height but you can't tell the difference when looking through the magnifier.
@@archangelconcepts5508 Yeah, the AEMS has a nice big window so it can still line up easily even if the heigh doesn't line up perfectly. I'm gonna guess that the piece of pic rail you got is quite a bit less than the 70 bucks for the adapter plate. How does the weight compare though? when trying to make a lightweight build that difference in price might be worth it(or not) for the difference in weight
@jacobzirkle9153 two years now...love it for work with NVGs because it has the IR capability but the downside is the sacrifice of the regular LED beam strength. But super easy, natural and positive activation button when mounted on top using a C clamp grip.
Hey how is the view through your 3x mag in the down position with your rear sight out of the way? Can you see through the leap mount clearly? Wondering if a micro prism at cowitness height would work looking through a leap. Thankyou for the video!
@FreeBayArea you cannot see through the magnifier in the down position bc the Leap mount is in the way of that and my flip up iron sight. The only way I'd be able to utilize my irons is to take off the whole optic/mount or get 45 degree offset irons.
The Leap 11 is a 1.93" mount plus the .5" riser under it brings it to an optical center height of 2.43" But it's still not high enough to have a clear line of sight under it for my irons.
How does the Omni mount line up with the aems at 1.93 vs 2.4? I’ve got a g45 and the Omni mount coming soon and want to make sure they work well together.
Surprisingly, I don't notice a difference at all, it lines up great with either. I might have had to adjust the magnifier a little bit to center it but not much at all.
It's the Sig Juliet5x Micro and it lines up nearly perfectly. When you're looking at it from the side it's slightly lower than the center of the optic but when you're looking through it you can't tell that it doesn't line up perfectly.
@JohnathanCullen where the magnifier meets the mount. Nothing was needed to make the magnifier mount itself higher on the rail, it lined up perfectly with the AEMS...well, not exactly perfect but not enough to notice looking through it.
After testing, my agency actually chose Holosun pistol red dots over Trijicon. We found the ruggedness of the body and glass was just as good as Trijicon. For our rifles we have Eotechs, many of which have had to be sent back to the factory for repairs not related to impact damage. This thread post issue with the AEMS is the first problem I've had with any Holosun.
I just ordered the aems with leap mount from scalarwork, looking forward to getting it in. Your iron sights have no issue seeing under the riser unobstructed? I saw scalarworks makes a high rise set of irons that coziness with the aems but I'm not sure I want to spend $250 on irons.

Nice work unfairly slandering a top notch company. What were the odds of the issue being with the cheap chinese optic vs high quality precision US hardware?
None, because our shit comes from China too. And with modern production methods the durability is really not reflected in the price any more...at least not like you are trying to make it out to be. 10, 15 years ago, sure you would have a point. Just not in 2023. ACOG costs almost 1000 because of namebrand alone...how much do you think it costs to actually make one? 140? 😂 enjoy the markup you are so proud of 🎉
Wow thats incredible customer service. The fact that they sent it to Holosun themselves is going above and beyond.

Looking good! The thick adapter plate with the leap 01 at 1.57 height with AEMS is 2.26 center line optic height.

I use the thick AMMJ adapter plate, because with a lower third riser it puts the optic at 2.26 to line it up with the unity flip to center magnifier
