- Jewish protester Domino says the Australian-Jewish community is “broken” by a rise in anti-Semitism since the October 7 attacks.
Her remarks come as Jewish students continue to face anti-Semitism on university campuses.
“Since October, it’s been a lot of sleepless nights and the community is just broken,” she told Sky News host Erin Molan.
“I’m so devastated that this is happening not only around the world, but especially in Australia.
“I never thought I would see the day where I would feel I have to think twice about … putting my kids in their uniforms - there aren’t enough words.”

I am positive the majority of Australians, as I do, support their fellow Jewish Australians. I attended a rally in Sydney, in support of Jewish people, in February this year. I am not religious nor do I know anyone of Jewish background, but I am angered by the hatred being generated by some people in certain sections of the community against fellow Australians. 1. Writing letters to media outlets that misreport
2. Writing emails and letters to your local MPs (state and federal) asking them to address the antisemitism
3. Publicly and openly condemning when Jewish people are attacked. Encouraging media outlets to shed a light on it and not report the perpetrators in a positive light
4. Ask for harsher penalties towards those who are chanting antisemitic things
5. Educating friends, family, loved ones in a peaceful way about why these chants are a problem. Specifically intifada.
Even just doing 1-2 of these regularly is a massive help. Everyone is short on time and there’s a cost of living crisis but Jewish Australians desperately need the silent majority of aussies to rally around them and push back hard against the racism of gen Z. To help educate them before it’s too late.

As a Jewish Israeli, I am broken by seeing these sights around the world. Even though I live in a war zone, I fear more about my Jewish brothers in the diaspora than us. It is not specifically against Jews that these students are protesting but against the far-right government in Israel which continues to strike Gaza despite thousands of deaths. It is human to denounce what Israel is doing against a people who have now suffered for 75 years, who have seen their lands colonized. Even as this woman presents herself as a victim of anisemitism, we are still recording deaths in Gaza. Additionally, stop describing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as having started on October 7. If we calculate the Palestinian deaths since 1948 as well as the Palestinian hostages in Israeli prisons because most of them are incarcerated without trial, we arrive at unimaginable proportions. Should we denounce them or not? Why don't the media denounce all this?
