- oztooltalk review one of our very favourite tools, the cordless jigsaw. This one, a strikingly good-looking jigsaw from Dewalt, is an 18V D-Handle / Top-Handle brushless tool.
We love jigsaws, but may not be the easiest to impress with them!
The DCS334 has the following specifications:
No Load Speed 3200 SPM
Stroke Length 26mm
Weight 2.1 kg
Variable Speed trigger plus 7-stage speed dial
Orbital/Pendulum Action with 3 settings
Tool Free Blade Change
Max Cutting Capacity in Wood 135 mm
Max Cutting Capacity in Aluminium 25 mm

Yeah, I love this model. Trouble is I am rubbish at tight radius curves, failing to turn the tool fast enough as it progresses, so it goes wide on the bend. Not DeWalts fault, just mine!
i reckon we all struggle with that one!
hi, Can the power button get stuck, or do you have to hold the button down for it to work continuously?
the d-handle requires you to hold the trigger. the barrel style version has an on/off switch
Great review! I have the barrel grip one and I really like it. I haven't found something it couldn't cut yet.
Sounds about right!
Very very good, as usual ! I own a very similar machine (a Dewalt DCS331 type 3, also a brushless 20V (well 18V in europe)), and I Love it ! Thank you guys :-)
Thanks for sharing
Howdy, is the 331 brushless, thought the 334 was the brushless version? I'm trying to figure out which to buy as a diyer 🤔, the 331 or spend a third extra and go for the 334. Not sure if the 334 is worth the extra cash... I need pros and cons!!!
@@diywooddesign1548Hello! the 331 is brushless, too. it has roughly the same specs as the 334. the 331 is a very good tool. the main differences are that the 334 has a speed variation control ( I don't really see the point for a jigsaw) and has a little different form factor, the 334 seems a little bit compact, but nothing really noticeable as far as I can see. as for me, I will not change my 331 for a 334, as I am extremely happy with it. Anyway, even if I never used a 334, I am sure that you will be happy with both. I can only give a real, informed feedback on my 331, I use it a lot and I Love it. but I am pretty sure that I would be equally delighted with a 334. I entirely trust our oz tool talk friends, if they say the 334 is wonderful, it certainly is! cheers from Belgium!
@@jean-marc7999 thanks dude, appreciate your reply 👍.
@@jean-marc7999 hey I've done more research into the tools, thanks for your words they helped me alot! 331 is NOT brushless unfortunately, I wish it was as it is much cheaper than the 334 😔
Never saw a flush cut blade like that, pretty slick
i reckon :)
Is it worth the extra third of the cost versus the 331?! Over here in the UK dewalt tools are pretty pricey ! Stuck on this dilemma as a DIYer!
I also own one of these bad boys and I love it.
right?!
Hi what jigsaw blades do you blokes recommend?
the usual suspects. bosch / diablo / lennox
Barrels for upside down use really, all your little fillers and trim bits. I think this current generation of dewalt are the best 18v jigsaws about - the hilti looks nice but is too far away in price.
Great point!
First!
