Piazzolla's music is melancholic, mourful and soulful. To play it correctly you've got to have lived many years, many experiences, many memories... Chloe proves me wrong, gladly
I'm 12 and play the violin too and I really aspire to be like her to have that much commitment and to overcome societies age standard and she became one of the best violinist 😁
It's amazing how Chloe just "becomes music" in this performance, and indeed all of her UA-cam performances. She's tuning her instrument and adjusting the shoulder rest, but the moment Kevin starts with the guitar (excellent playing, btw), she begins to sway and her head bows, as if the music is enveloping her like a warm sweater. It's such an intimate moment and it carries through for the rest of the performance, which is really marvelous. So colorful, melancholic and sweet. And then there's that bit of confusion at the end and you realize it's just an 11-year-old up there, maybe a little perplexed about all the noise that's materialized so suddenly. I guess she's practiced how to get onto the stage, just not off it yet. She seems genuinely surprised that people react so strongly to her performance, like she's thinking "What? I'm just doing my thing, playing violin, and you're all going crazy over it?" It's very charming and endearing in its sincerity. Can't wait for her to begin touring on a regular basis so I can hear her live.
As a junior in college on a music scholarship for classical guitar, I accompanied a flautist for her senior recital on this piece. One of the most nerve wracking performances I have done, as I was so scared to mess up the soloist’s recital performance and recording. Great accompaniment and great solo performance!
I love the end. First, Chloe misunderstanding Kevin's gesture as shooing her out. Then Kevin leaves and Chloe looks stupefied. She puts her hand to her back as if saying: "Hey, you left me here. ME! You! Come back or you will answer for this. Oh, I should work more on my MAGIC..."
In their latest video, the TwoSets are reminiscing their early forays into music. They mention more than one time Chloe. They, even broadcast from Singapore. They may have moved there. If so, no wonder... They just followed the SUN :)
..que belleza!!!! .... Niña besada!!! ... Como puede entender con tan pocos años el alma de lo que toca!!! ... cuánto tiempo ha necesitado para madurar ... para comprender!!!! .... QUE BELLEZA!!!! ...
For good chunks of this I could feel the emotion in the notes not just the hitting them, feeling them. I know there are better ways to describe this musically however I'm not analyzing I'm feeling. Amazing for any age.
That is so beautiful Chloe and Kevin. I have never seen you play with a guitarist. I watch all of your videos and so glad to see TwoSet viewing this. Loved your video with them, it was wonderful and funny! Chloe, the way you interact with an orchestra, even at such a young age years ago is so beautiful, your poise and how gracious you are. Thank you for these videos, they warm my heart so much!
Great sound, and great duetting from both players. The only time Chloe looked puzzled was about how to accept the inevitable adulation which follows her remarkable talent, but I expect it will get easier with practice.
Just wonderful! I will listen to this recording with eyes closed, to relax late at night after a hard day at work. It will be useful, I'm sure. Thanks again Chloe.
Hi Chloe, can you please make videos on bowing techniques right from beginner level to intermediate, with proper level by level practice exercises and routines? Please, I would be in your debt forever. Thank you in advance.
Chloe has blossomed into a magnificent concert violinist! See what Hans Graf says of her in the "Little Mozart" interview before her stellar performance of Mozart's violin concerto #2 with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, streamed on Dec 4 2020. ua-cam.com/video/s-Eh34IXldc/v-deo.html She was to have performed Wieniawski's violin concerto #2 on 9 Jan 2021 in Macau with the Macau Symphony Orchestra, and Vaughan Williams' "The Lark Ascending" on 26 Jan 2021 in Geneva with the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, but very sadly both concerts were cancelled because of the pandemic. She has other exciting engagements later in the year, of course. Fingers crossed!
Chloe, I'm 13 and I play the violin too, I want to know how many days will you spend to practicing a new big piece? like the repertoire Mozart Violin Concerto No.5 in A major or Vivaldi The Four Seasons. How long will you take from the time you get a new repertoire to the time that you are practicing enough to take it for a performance?
That is an interesting question. One relevant piece information is that the compulsory work to be played in the final of the (April) 2018 Menuhin Competition, "Self in Mind" by Jaehyuck Choi, was made available only 3 months beforehand. So we know that Chloe had at most 3 months to prepare her performance of it. Another relevant piece of information is that the Menuhin Competition did not announce the competition rules, and so the other elements of the required repertoire for the three rounds of the competition, until April 2017, and so only one year in advance. These rules permitted candidates only one free choice, and this was in the semi-final, where Chloe chose to play Hubay's "Carmen Fantasie," with which she was already very familiar; indeed, she had performed it in 2016. In contrast, I am confident that she had never previously performed any of the required works, and I have seen no evidence that she was even familiar with any of them. Prima facie, then, in the year after the competition's regulations had been announced, and so in the period April 2017 to April 2018, at the very least Chloe prepared 7 pieces for performance at the Menuhin Competition 2018: First Round: Bach (VS #3, mvts 3+4); Wieniawski (Etude-Caprice 18/2); Svendsen (Romance Op. 26) Semi Final: Beethoven (VS #8, mvt 1); Piazzolla (Histoire du Tango, Café 1930) Final: Jaehyuck Choi's "Self in Mind" and Vivaldi's "Winter" the caveat being that "Self in Mind" had to be prepared more specifically in the period Jan-April 2018.

Ah, this must be the sound of Edwina's dreams.

Or maybe she just proves reincarnation's existence😊
Hi Chloe!!!! I'm 12 and I play violin, but not as well as you (of course) LOL. I just want to tell you that you inspire me and are a great role model.
I'm 12 and play the violin too and I really aspire to be like her to have that much commitment and to overcome societies age standard and she became one of the best violinist 😁
I played the violin before but i was too young at that age and i never played it again :(
@@ReaTheReal Then play it again because now you have a better understanding of it and will most likely play a million times better

I’ve watched this a million times already and I’m still in awe by this performance! This piece has since became my favorite

Chloe makes me quit violin and become an audience...
Chloe makes me want to leave the audience and practice more! 😀
If I had known Classical Guitar and Violin can sound so good together, I would have persisted with my guitar practices!
They always have. Heck Paganini composed guitar & violin duet pieces. :)
You can always pick it up again and hang on!
Try some Gypsy Jazz with Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Perhaps the most celebrated guitar-violin combo.
Is there any good ones with sorrowful/mellow melody?
Understandable since most violin accompanists are piano

I love this song, and I love this

"Don't leave me all alone!"
Since she practices 39 hours a day, all she needs to do is to practise for 1 more hour to become Ling Ling, her grandfather.
