The sony xg-500 is highly recommended and can keep up with some competitors like the JBL boombox 2 without any problems. When it comes to performance, the sony xg -500 also scores here, and although this loudspeaker has a 35 × 2 watt system, the Boombox 2 has to get by with a solid 30 × 2 watts. However, the boombox 2 is more powerful in ac mode and operates at 40 × 2. The xg-500 does not get any significant boost and remains at 35 × 2 watts and can therefore only increase the volume a little, since the power supply is of course more efficient than the battery. Sound comparison: Both speakers are terrific and have a different character. For the sake of clarity, I will immediately address the striking differences. Overall, the Boombox 2 plays a little deeper than the sony and sounds a lot better when it comes to the highs. This corresponds to a well-balanced sound, although the deep bass can sometimes be a bit annoying and gets out of hand in the apartment! The Boombox 2 does not have a user-defined equalizer and something like that is pretty much missing at JBL. In the upper bass spectrum, it does not score as much as expected and the mids are subtle. The Sony XG-500 sounds very present and its bass is optimally reproduced in a frequency range of 60-150 HZ. The center aisle is terrific, but completely drowns out the highs. Unfortunately, the heights are almost non-existent and it almost sounds like they are not built in at all? In any case, I would recommend using the application for this. I would set the equalizer radically to +10 heights and then everything is in harmony with each other! If you want to amplify the bass, I also recommend +10 in the bass range. This makes it even deeper and can almost keep up with the jbl in terms of the animal range: 40-50 Hz. However, the Sony is focused on a much higher bass and thus destroys the jbl boombox 2. Thank you for reading and have a nice day all of you 😊
Well a little correction my friend about the watts in the box you have a book whit manual one of them says AC 80W and you get that when your speaker is bellow battery care mode which limit the charge at 90% and normal charging mode up to 100% same thing. However i discovered something interesting about if you use the bluetooth you wont get any boost performance up from plugging into the charging outlet even if you have bellow let say battery care mode which is 90% for example 80%, but instead if you do that whit the cable 3.5inch then you get the performance boost and you can hear it clearly couse it hit deeper and bit louder :).There is soo many other things i have discovered on that speaker that not sure that even sony knows it yet lol like how to boost the overall performance loudness of the speaker whit more then 15-20db ontop of it's original setting APP EQ and avoid the DSP which is kicking in right after you reach 75% whit mega bass on a heavy bass song ^^
@@borislavdimitrov8319 how can the dsp be prevented from interfering? From 75% onwards, the speaker has a very reduced bass effect. The in-house app from sony is very poorly developed for me personally. I then prefer to use my phone eq and have more highs and deeper bass overall, but I can still feel like I have said that the dsp switches on from 75%. how do you work around the problem? Is actually very badly compressed by Sony and wanted to be revised quickly
@@schacktastischfirst what kind of phone you use couse this speaker sound changes depend on how good the phone sound quality transmit to the speaker for example i support 32 bit 96hz ldac 990kb/s which is the highest beffore hi res,the speaker itself support hi res hi-fi music sound its there is a diffrence from regular mp3 bit clearer and loud whit slightly deep bass. You cant really turn off the speaker protection after pushing more power into the speaker while you are using Bluetooth connection also the integrated app not enought in this case to get more base and same time pronounced mids and hights same time you have to crank the custom EQ on the speaker then you switch the speaker in mega base or rec settings by sony or hit the mega bass mode on the the next step is go to you phone integrated EQ and push it further.Keep in mind that durring Bluetooth the application from the phone EQ isnt going to apply on the speaker on 100% it's going to be half due to the protection if you want to backdoor the protection you have to use wired connection and repeat the steps

This speaker looks very sleek, but for $450, how can you buy this over JBL partybox 110, its no debate. I bought the xg500, returned it for partybox
80 watt ?
i got this and it sounds like a plastic sewage pipe
