Thanks “syndicate” what a great project, I tend to be close friend with grandchild of Kund Reiners and I and maybe she as well was not at all aware of the Australian history of this brilliant design. I can’t wait to pass on the story/history of made. I’m sailing a double end boat, that to some extend is coming out of the success of Tumleren, namely the Spækhugger made in fiberglass in the early 70ties about 1 inch thickness so pretty indestructible and all 500 boats are still alive and sailing, keep the progress and the sailing news coming when the boat floats:-) Best Sailing Regards Martin , Aarhus , Denmark 🇩🇰
Hi Martin. Thanks so much for your kind comments..I'd love to here more about your project...any chance we could get in touch via email? mine is helm@southernwoodenboatsailing.com
Very good discourse on the rebuilding of Yvonne 97. Congratulations to you all. I sailed with and against Selim over the years and that he was a master skipper is undeniable. One of his best attributes was to be able to keep a very good crew together over a long period of time. Latterly, the late Bert Ferris was the best for’ard hand at the time and backed up by Rob Nielson and Selim’s lovely Granddaughter Monica, the team was very hard to beat.
Those are very beautiful boats I remember them well. Their lines are very captivating . A lot of things to make them very pleasing to the eye .

"Spækhugger" is a modernised Utzon inspired design.
