Hi again everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. This was another highly requested topic which I thought was important to create during these crazy times. Sit back, relax, and let the doctor take care of you. I still can't thank you all enough for your support on the channel. We have built an ASMR family and I can't wait to showcase some of the content I have coming soon. As always leave your ideas in the comments!! Stay awesome :) - Dr. Adam

I wish other doctors knew how to handle anxiety. I feel like most doctors are annoyed by it and/or dismiss it. :[ doctors typically don't like me because i'm anxious and ask a lot of questions.

Thank you for always asking “is that okay with you?” Before doing everything. You don’t know how much it means to hear that in vids like these. I always struggle with going to the doctor with my anxiety and dislike of being touched. I’ve had a lot of anxiety lately so this helped me relax without the stress of actually being touched by a real doctor.

THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME AT MY LAST PHYSICAL! My pulse and pressure were ridiculously high (to the point where they thought I might have a heart issue) because it was a new place and I was more nervous than usual (I always get asked "Are you nervous?" when they take my pulse and pressure), and then I had to get a surprised EKG at the end of my visit. There I was prepared to leave and they're just like, hol' up, strip and we're going to stick these things to your chest.
Suffice to say, I do not have heart issues, just anxiety

    • @ChristiansPrayingTogether

Oh I'm so sorry this happened to you. I fully understand because at 52 years of age, and after birthing two kids - it STILL happens to me. I wish I had answers for you. One thing that helped me was just telling them to put the cuff and stethoscope away, that I wasn't there for that. I check everything at home. I've had my heart checked at cardio too, nothing wrong. I just get anxious in doctors offices. I tell them, " oh why don't you just calm down, I'm telling you I'm not having a heart attack, now help me what I came here for " Lol! Just take the bull by the horns. Often after they leave me alone about it I sometimes settle down and will let them do BP. Now if this guy was my doctor I'd probably never have anxiety - lol! I'm going to try listening to him the next time I go in ! LoL! Good luck, and remember you're the boss in the doctor's office. 💗

I have anxiety about the doctor’s office too. Knowing that you can refuse care and procedures you don’t want and can ask them to make notes in your chart if they’re unwilling to run/order tests, provide treatment, refer you out, etc helped me somewhat. It gave me some sense of control that I didn’t realize I had in medical settings. I hope it helps you and maybe some other people in this comment section too.

GAD runs in the family, and my brother and I inherited it on top of developing OCD. In past generations, panic attacks would get severe enough to occasionally warrant the ER, as parts or all of our bodies go numb, sometimes for a long time, and we can pass out and be unresponsive for a while. My grandfather had to be on tranquilizers because it was getting so out of hand. Not fun. I've yet to end up in the ER for panic attacks so far, and hopefully I never will, but if I ever do and if my brother does I hope this is the kind of doctor we get. One of my obsessions revolves around protecting my eyes, which makes going to the eye doctor difficult, and I once had a doctor who wasn’t sensitive to that at all. We need more people like you.

Idk why but I really like how you ask if its okay to do something, it just comes across as so kind and understanding. You have such a relaxing and reassuring voice, especially when you guide us with deep breathing and relaxation exercises. I for one LOVE doctor role plays, and I really think these put an end to fear people may have of actual doctors.
I'm a person who experiences anxiety on a frequent basis, and I've had panic attacks in the past. I remember the very first one I had, which was back in 2014, and I literally thought I was dying, so I was taken to the ER to have doctors run tests on me and such. Anxiety is a very common, yet still serious, issue that people face and it nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed of :) your health, especially mental health, it’s super important and that’s what they’re there for!

    Hi, Adam!
Just wanted to take this moment to congratulate you on the hugely successful launch of your MedLife YT channel. You are well on you're way to hitting 1M subscribers by either the end of the year, or by the 1st quarter of 2022.
In my humble opinion (which isn't much), you are on a league of your own with these ASMR-inspired role-plays. I say this for the very simple reason that since you're an ER physician by trade (degreed, licensed, and board-certified to boot).. such a background affords you the ability to inject and/or introduce a rather anomalous sense of unique realism into your role-plays that one seldomnly, if ever, sees with any of the other MedLife-themed ASMR channels here on YT (just a mere observation on my part). I don't say this as a veiled swipe or jab directed at any of the other ASMR content creators on this medium, as that is not the purpose nor intention behind the publication of this post.
As an aside... I'd be remiss if I also didn't take this opportunity to note how exceedingly handsome and attractive you are. Your scurf and stubble just accentuate your sexiness that much more. As a gay man in his 30s, I just couldn't shy away from noting such things - LOL. You're just an absolute delight, in addition to being eye candy in every respect.
All the best in going forward with this project of yours, Doc. May it grow exponentially over the coming weeks and months.
Please take care up there in New York. Stay healthy, and stay the course as we begin to close the book on this horrid pandemic that has claimed an incalculable number of lives around the world... to say nothing of this country.
    Godspeed!
    Best,
    Janiel V.

This is amazing, but I hate how my instant reaction is to worry about an extremely oversized bill that could bankrupt/cripple me afterwards since I don't have insurance.

I want to first say that this is amazing and the feedback I give is only with the intent to make the video better: so at the end of the heart beat, there is this massive click at the end which can be removed with a 5ms fade before and after the audio track 😊 that way it isn't too startling on certain headphones

      @DrAdamASMR  3 роки тому +4

Thank you for this recommendation! We will have our editor take a look at the heartbeat and have it fade in and out. The headphones we use it's hard to hear that but this is great feedback as every pair of headphones is different. Thank you and thanks for the support!

I really enjoy your videos, but I’ve made a few notes for your improvement, in case u might want to read it:
    • Your mic needs to be closer so we can hear you better, and it’d be so great to have more of that ear to ear sensation.
    • It would be great to here a paper sound when “you’re writing the answers”, like you’re really writing something, cause the sound of paper scratching is so great if you do it properly.

So nice to see these types of videos!
    My first panic attack was
ER Doc: "its just a panic attack you don't need to be here"
Me: A what? But I felt...
ER Doc: you're fine*leaves the room and nurse comes in with papers to discharge*
Me: is still scared to go in for anything in case it's "just a panic attack" and I don't wanna get yelped at.

Are ER doctors actually this attentive when you go in during an extreme panic attack? I thought they’d be more dismissive so I haven’t bothered going. :(

I've never been more relaxed listening to a doctor saying " possible heart attack" 🤣 Is it inappropriate to mention how incredibly relaxing & soothing he is on top of being....hot ? ( don't want to come across as sleazy but compliment where compliment due ). Love from Ireland
