This kinda blows my mind that 300 started in Sin City. Love it. Now I'm off to watch that commentary with Rodriguez, Tarantino, and Miller. Kinda feel like watching the Sin City movies again too. Got a long day of inking ahead of me. Thanks, guys!
JIM! That panel with the car screeching--check out the fire on the road! The car has ALREADY turned around in that panel--the fire shows its path turning around! It's a PERFECT panel!
When Frank Miller is at his best he is on a whole other level to anyone else in the history of the comics medium. He's like Wayne Gretzky or Don Bradman; no one else even comes close. Comics is fortunate to have such a visionary artistic genius who is always pushing the medium forward in bold and innovative ways (while also simultaneously telling damn good stories.)
I found all the Sin City books at a Half Price Bookstore a few years ago. $7 dollars and some change for each book. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
Another amazing walkthrough!!! I always learn something new from you videos….some things you haven’t picked up when you read the comics yourself or seeing stuff from another angle….. love it!
That gimmick with dudes talking waaay long after being cut to half/impaled/burning is 100% Lone Wolf & Cub thing. Happens in those stories countless times.

Hi again. I was 23 as it was published. Still one of the greatest. Greetings from Germany
In Dark Knight Returns the star of My Sweet Satan is an actress named…Hot Gates. 300 has been on his mind for a long time.

I think the keynote address from Frank Miller at the back of issue 5 is worth mentioning. Maybe for another time.
3:44 Those Covers

31:10 that was the scene that Tarantino guest directed and the changing voice was his idea!
That Miho cover is the best cover Miller has ever done with Varley. Years later and I still cant stop looking at it. Its perfect.
Its wild to me he hasnt seen the movie. One of my favorite movies.
