      Nice! Drove a box truck for Furniture Delivery. Always thought it would make a great little "cabin on wheels". Your build just proved my dream to be true!! Roll down back door, still operational? Very stealth!!😍😉😊👍 Thanks for sharing. Now I will be on lookout for Uhaul vehicles for sale. Enjoy!

      @@lesterthomason2458 I thought about this dream as a kid. I remember being a little kid in a moving truck thinking that would be a cool little apartment. When I seen the first one on UA-cam many years ago I just knew I had to do it. I had so many friends tell me that it was impossible and I was crazy. It just lit a fire up under my butt and I had to do it.please don’t let anyone deter you from your dreams of building this or having it built for you. You will have a feeling of liberation. Make sure you live out your dreams. Thank you for watching and I really appreciate your comment.

    Epic stove, two TVs and even a washing machine, and then a bucket toilet. LOL Priorities folks. You know what works for you. I love it.

    • @Ruffjourneys
      @Ruffjourneys  7 днів тому

      All of those things you mentioned are my priorities. Having a black tank on my vehicle that I would have to drive around an empty because of a toilet is definitely not a priority to me. I do not want that on my home at all. I don’t want poop tank attached to my home or my vehicle. That did not work for me. I cannot empty out a poop tank. For some people that can work for them, but those kind of toilets do not work for me at all. So the Bucket works for me. If I were to build this thing again and spend another $80,000 on building a vehicle. I would do exactly the same thing and put another bucket composting toilet. Researching is everything when building one of these. Thank you for commenting and thank you for watching.

    The best part about your Harbor Freight toilet is if it's too short you could always put it inside another bucket to raise it up 2 in

    • @Ruffjourneys
      @Ruffjourneys  22 дні тому +2

      Well, my girlfriend and her mother came by and stayed the weekend. That harbor freight is too short for her. She’s in her 60s and she just can’t bend over like that. So I put a couple 2 inch thick boards down and put the toilet on top of there. It was just raised up enough that it was perfect height. I didn’t think about bringing a extra bucket on the road and I already had the boards. Thank you for commenting and thank you for watching.

    Nice build! One thing I would suggest though is you should install the carbon monoxide detector lower, near the baseboard. Carbon monoxide is heavier than air, and will get first detected at lower levels. Also, you should change your CMD every 5 years. There is an element inside the sensor that degrades strength over the years.

    • @Ruffjourneys
      @Ruffjourneys  22 дні тому +1

    For drying clothes, my understanding is that these small washing machines have a very high spin rate, removing most of the water, do very little is left to finish to dry them.
    Ive yet to build my own rig (thinking if a gmc 3500 12 feet box truck to stay below 3000kg), but I had this idea to use my shower as a drying rack, by adding a vent coming from the diesel heater and to remove the humidity created via the vent like beside your shower.
    My guess is that it would only take what, 15-20 mins per load of runtime from the diesel heater, do very little fuel would be used.
    Good for thoughts 🤘

    • @Ruffjourneys
      @Ruffjourneys  22 дні тому +2

      That is definitely a good platform of a truck to start with. That’s not bad at all if you want to start your own build. I wouldn’t wait till everything is perfect to build. I would just start building. These washing machines do work pretty well as long as you don’t overload them. They spin out pretty decent. They’re just a little damp after wash cycle is done. The diesel heater idea for the vent sounds good, but it’s only cold a few months out of the year in the summertime that idea will not work. You might just have to dry them in the shower or hang them outside. the idea will definitely work in the winter time. Thank you I greatly appreciate you commenting and I really appreciate you watching.
