My 20yo Weber Genesis Silver is still kicking ash! Had a grease fire the other day with hotdogs :O CLEAN YOUR DRIP PAN EVERYONE! :D HAPPY FATHER'S DAY MIKE ;)
It's a dirty job Mike, but it's got to be done. I don't own a gasser, but I do my other smokers and grills basically the same way. Just scrape the crud out, and keep on rocking. Good seeing you brother!
Your video was GREAT and informative. I have a question please.... I bought new flavor bars, grill grates and heat reflectors. My old heat reflectors were rusted through and sitting down in the pan that holds all the gunk from old cooks. So when I put the NEW reflectors in place, I cook a steak and the side shelves on each side get EXTREMELY hot and I have house pot holders to pick of the steak pan? I don't ever remember that happening before so should I call out a BBQ Repair company? Thanks for your help.
That’s definitely weird unless the heat bars were made of a different material because they do have different options then perhaps they are just putting off radiant heat but I would check with the manufacture just to be safe.
I do the same process with my genesis grill. I do also take a small wire brush and clean the burner tubes then use a small drill bit to make sure all the holes are clear. I know the burners are stainless steel and covered but I'm already there at that point. I have to do that constantly with my Weber Q320 as the burners aren't covered and the result is uneven heat. Great video, something not everyone thinks to do!
Man I thought I was the only one who only did it once a year lol ... but I just got a new grill a few months ago and have found myself cleaning it every few weeks now to stay on top of it to see if I can keep a cheap grill (same Expert Grill you reviewed) going as long as more expensive ones I've had 🤔
@@EverydayBBQ doing a once a year cleaning I've averaged about 3-4 years main box lifespan on more expensive units. If I get 3 out of this one I'll call it a massive win.
This was great vid! Really liked your delivery, no nonsense. Nothing new to me, but still enjoyed it. Just got myself used Genesis E330, upgrading from my Q after 12 years. Gonna clean this weekend and cook something to celebrate. Now let's see what other vids you have. Thanks for sharing!
You should caution veiwers to go very light on Totally Awesome Cleaner on the enamel surface. If you use even a little too much, it will start to bleed the surface coating off. Need to be very careful if you value the exterior of your Genesis
@@EverydayBBQ Maybe I just had bad luck, but my limited edition forest green genesis was leaking green dye all over the paper towels when I wiped it after letting it sit for 30 seconds after applying.
Awesome video as always Mike I haven't been getting notifications for your videos so I subscribed all over again hope that will fix it GBY and your family hope your all safe and well
I hear that from a lot of people, Rich. I feel like UA-cam has been doing it on purpose but I don’t know why. Hopefully what you did will help to keep you notified. God bless and thank you for the support!
@@EverydayBBQ you welcome Mike I've been with you from your early housands can't believe I've missed loads of videos my channel is up and running now been going for 3 4 months now I think it's getting there 60 subs hopefully get 100 by the end of the year
@@EverydayBBQ I'd love you to watch a video of mine your the reason I start the channel and I got there so any pointers would be greatly appreciated mate
I just bought the LA Totally Awesome spray because of you. :) I'm reading the bottle and it says to dilute it with water. Do you have too or can I just spray the product on the grill without diluting it?
Just started to see rodents going into my Weber after 10 years of owing it. I’ve always used this method to clean it but now I think it’s time for a deep clean and some parts replacement
Nasty job and I'd really hate doing it to my little Weber Spirit each spring but I make it an occasional to spend a couple of hours (I tend to do the degreasing and stuff) with my friends, the BEER family! LOL
This is my exact grill. Thank you for keeping this instructional video easy to follow and to the point. No music, no babbling, just perfect. 👍⭐😃
I have this same grill, thank you!

Thank you very much, brother. I appreciate your friendship and support deeply. Thanks for the text last week. Love ya, brother! Cheers 🍻
I did it the same way when I had a gas grill, but I used the pressure washer at the end to clean the whole grill.
Great video! I have the same grill and need to do exactly this.
Thank you, Taylor!

If you maintain them properly, they’ll last longer and run safer. That’s what matters.

I used to dilute it but now I just spray and wipe lol.
For the inside cleaning, why not do a high temp burn off for an hour then clean? Seems like a lot of that crud would be easier to deal with.
Those can get out of control and end up costing parts or worse. I’ve always done it just like this and it’s worked so I’ve stuck with it.
