It always tickles me when the newer generation think a lot of covers that musicians do today, were the original. It's like we're "yoo-hoo, we were listening to this when you weren't even a twinkle in your daddy's eye". Love seeing the reactions when they discover that it was done before they were even born. Great reactions and love the beautiful mom.
Burton's voice is way better. They come from my home town and I get pissed off when they play this song and it's Lenny's version. Nothing like supporting home town talent.
The song has an interesting beginning. The Guess Who was planning to perform in Texas. At a gas station on their way down, a US border patrol officer ordered them to go get drafted (because of their green cards). Freaked out, they turned their car around and drove back to Canada. The group managed to get another gig at a curling arena in Ontario. During the show, Randy Bachman, the lead guitarist, broke a string and so the band took a short break. After Randy fixed his guitar and he began tuning it, he improvised a chord progression. Liking it--and not wanting to forget it--he started playing the riff aloud. The rest of the band joined in, and Randy called out to Burton Cummings (the singer), "Sing something! Sing anything!" Burton came back on the stage and improvised the lyrics, their incident with the officer still probably fresh in his mind.
Listen to your elder sweetheart, she knows the originality of this song. Your mama knows! Yes ma'am you do! Burton Cummings one of the most amazing voices ever! YES! One of my most favourite ol' time rock bands ever! Great Canadian band 🇨🇦 🎸 🎶🎵
Binge watching T & T on a rainy Friday. Got my cold beer and a great classic rock tune. Lenny Kravitz covered it! Check out The Guess Who's Clap For The Wolfman! This is fun... Cheers Ladies!
This is a great song, got tons of airplay . This was a fun song to scream out when driving...and yes, we were trippin'. Streets with lots of stop lights looked like you were inside a pinball machine, the road was melting, the buildings were breathing, yeah, those were the days. Fun times!
You have to have your mama on more often, she's a lot of fun. and play the music she grew up on. the stuff I grew up on. Annd I did some of uhmmm those chemicals;>)
They didn't evolve into BTO. Randy left The Guess Who in 1970 several years before The Guess Who ended in 1975. He had a year before he formed Brave Belt which morphed into BTO in 1973.
Darlin, your Favorite Lenny k.wasn't born when th8s Song came out.your Mama knows this. The original band are Canadians. And this was rirst played in 1965. SFC.D.WILSON U.S Airborne Rangers / Cavalry-SPFOR ret. Stay Safe and Bless you all ❤
This was adorable❤ They were both correct about who did the song😂Lenny's version is 🔥 🔥 🔥. You all should do "Cook with Fire" by Heart. It's Fire and not about a BBQ.😂
In reference to the 'Guess Who' pun made at the beginning of your reaction vid, be sure to have a listen to the comedy bit that is often referred to as 'Whose on First'... from 1943 Abbott & Costello ua-cam.com/video/yImUBz25ZX0/v-deo.html
Idk if yall know, but Deftones released a single off their new album. Check out Ohms, I'd love to see both of your reactions to this one. It's a banger
The Guess Who are definitely hippy but only mildly psychedelic, they're more on the protest side of the hippy movement rather than the psilocybin/LSD side like the Doors, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, King Crimson ect... if you were to categorize the Guess Who in the hippy realm you could put them in the same category as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, CCR, CSNY, the Byrds, the Hollies... hippy antiwar vs the psychedelic hippy free love movement... I would say Jimi Hendrix was both antiwar and free love so was Janis Joplin...
Great Canadian band with Burton Cummings singing! One of the best rock voices of all time!!
Hell ya.
Winnipeg in the house! great band endless hits.

I know, eh? 🇨🇦
Guess who is better than lennys version. Lennys was too spit and polished. Guess who is raw power
Burton's voice is way better. They come from my home town and I get pissed off when they play this song and it's Lenny's version. Nothing like supporting home town talent.

Damn! That’s wild
You don't have it quite right. Let Randy Bachman explain it himself: ua-cam.com/video/f2AJNs-4v7k/v-deo.html
No LSD trips or hair on fire here. lol She is adorable! I bet she has a lot of fun stories to tell.
Oh man lovin your momma! Got to have her on more often, do like music from her era, but from groups she might not know. She’s really fun!
These Eyes is another big hit from them you might want to check out
That and "No sugar tonight".
One of the first big Canadian bands.
You guys are so cute together! Mom & daughter! 💕🇨🇦💖
Lol, "That's lenny Kravitz!" He did do an awesome cover.
Binge watching T & T on a rainy Friday. Got my cold beer and a great classic rock tune. Lenny Kravitz covered it! Check out The Guess Who's Clap For The Wolfman! This is fun... Cheers Ladies!
American Woman was a metaphor for America, at the time. Just as relavent today.
🗽 yup
Commentary on draft dodgers👍
Us Canadians are an honest bunch...
Listen to your mom. She knows exactly what she is talking about. I know I’m her age and I was there!!!!!🎸🎸🎸🥳🥳🥳
This is a great song, got tons of airplay . This was a fun song to scream out when driving...and yes, we were trippin'. Streets with lots of stop lights looked like you were inside a pinball machine, the road was melting, the buildings were breathing, yeah, those were the days. Fun times!
This song should replace 'O Canada' as the Canadian national anthem! 🇨🇦
That's already taken by Lightfoot's Canadian Railroad Trilogy
"no sugar" "laughing" are a few songs you might like. The 1970 rock documentary movie (gimme shelter) shows people trippin bad out of their minds.
Love it. We must see more of Mom and sister
Too cute!
VW Microbus. The hippie dippies would sometimes paint flowers on their bus!
Great reaction and you two are hilarious. You just made my day...lol
Heck yea momma is back ! Thats what im talkin bout ....
Love these two.
Momma C was getting into the groove with the song, - Go Momma C, show us your dance moves
Mom wil remember These Eyes
You have to have your mama on more often, she's a lot of fun. and play the music she grew up on. the stuff I grew up on. Annd I did some of uhmmm those chemicals;>)
You could get high just going to a concert!! Always a haze over the crowd.
Lol! Hippie music?! The Guess who had a number of hits and evolved into Bachman Turner Overdrive
They didn't evolve into BTO. Randy left The Guess Who in 1970 several years before The Guess Who ended in 1975. He had a year before he formed Brave Belt which morphed into BTO in 1973.
@@jethro1963 evolve /ĭ-vŏlv′/
intransitive verb
To develop or achieve gradually.
"evolve a style of one's own."
Digging the mother and daughter vibe..keep on rocking 😎
I grew up with Lenny's cover, so that's what I always hear in my head, but both versions are great!

Guns, Guns, Guns-Mother Nature by The Guess Who, love to see you react to this song.
Lenny Kravitz did a remake of the song.
You definitely Should listen to more Guess Who songs especially These Eyes, and No Sugar.
This was adorable❤ They were both correct about who did the song😂Lenny's version is 🔥 🔥 🔥. You all should do "Cook with Fire" by Heart. It's Fire and not about a BBQ.😂
The originals are always the best .
Mom is so cool!. 💯
Great reaction rockin mama!
Mom was on top of this.
Good memory!
Hair on fire and LSD? I've done one of these. Great reaction! Thank you.
She must be a good laugh at get togethers
This song is about what Canadians think of the USA.
It's about what Burton thought about Canadian women, not as cynical, not "growing up" so fast. He has said this many times.
Lenny did the cover not a remake
That was fun with your mother in law in the video

Another Winnipeg band. Later split up and the guitarist formed BTO.
Randy left The Guess Who in 1970 several years before The Guess Who ended. He had a year before he formed Brave Belt which morphed into BTO in 1973.
Momma knows what's up!
The guess who another great Canadian band. But no one will ever touch Rush
Idk if yall know, but Deftones released a single off their new album. Check out Ohms, I'd love to see both of your reactions to this one. It's a banger
True Story, this song was written because the guitarist broke a string and while waiting for another guitar he played this without one string
Opera Rock. From Spain please. React to Camilo Sesto: Getsemani ( live 1977 ).
Lenny's was too refined. Polished. I like the raw feeling\emotion. Very underrated band.
Lenny Kravitz's wishes
One cool Mama.

Momma is so cute 😆
Kravitz did the cover
I’ve been on every trip you can think of but I never did heroin, waisting my teen years
Hippies were always high.
Interrupted the solo!
I can't remember if I stopped watching after "they was" or "they be". I'm out of here. Translation: I ain't staying. I be leaving.
