Frenchie you were on fire with this one. So much great and to me new information added to the video. I do quibble about the Hitler baby photo story in one detail. I'm pretty sure there was no German consulate in Chicago in 43 to do anything. I believe all German diplomats were interred and exchanged with US diplomats under the auspices of the Swiss.
@@ToonStory-fh4gn I second this. "Things I Care About" does a fantastic job fleshing out the context and properly compressing yet accounting for the political issues that essentially enabled the NDSAP's rise to power.

Thank you for watching this one, you looked pained watching, i cant even imagine what you were really thinking. I had no idea it was blocked, i could understand if it is in anyway a posive spin on the madman but its not, i truly believe we must never forget and never again. Ive never heard the story of the photo before, i would have been an angry mom too. Thank you as always, you spoke to this perfectly
Yes, of course I put passion and emotions in every video and before doing this one I immersed myself in the topic, watched and read a lot of experts... So inevitably at some point I guess the emotions catch up with me. I don't know why it was blocked, I hope it is for good reasons... Thank you for your kind words as always :)

Hitler was an Altar Boy when he was young. He even considered becoming a priest at one time. Obviously he was not a Roman Catholic in good standing when was in power, much less when he offed himself...

This bastard would never have had a chance of controlling Germany if the peace of 1919 had not turned out so horribly. I don't want to go into the details, but it must be said that France's hard line and the stupidity of the Americans did not help. The British, who were the only ones to have a bad conscience about the way the Entente had conducted the war, had a more realistic view. The British Prime Minister, Sir David Lloyd George, gave a remarkably analytical and far-sighted speech at Versailles in 1919. He said: "Germany may be stripped of her colonies, her army reduced to a mere police force, and her navy reduced to the strength of a fifth-rate power. Yet at last, if Germany feels that she has been wronged in the peace of 1919, she will find means of compelling her conquerors to make restitution. To obtain reparation, our conditions may be severe, they may be harsh and even ruthless, but at the same time they may be so just that the country on which we impose them may feel in its heart that it has no right to complain. But injustice and arrogance, displayed in the hour of triumph, will never be forgotten nor forgiven. I can think of no stronger reason for a future war than that the German people, who have certainly proved themselves to be one of the most vigorous and powerful tribes in the world, should be surrounded by a number of smaller states, some of which have never before been able to establish a stable government for themselves, but each of which would contain large numbers of Germans who, after reunification with their homeland, coveted.” But thanks to France, that’s exactly what happened! And curtains up for the Nazi show...
Part 2 tomorrow!
Such a shame this video was banned in France. History shouldn't be swept under the rug
Exactly!
