That was great! I sat at my radio and not only practiced instant letter recognition, but also SENT the letters directly after hearing them from you! It was great ‘head-copy’ practice and sending as well!!! Thanks!
thanks for the video. I'm about to throw in the towel on morse code. I thought I was doing good, until this. Tomorrow I'll review all 4 lessons and try lesson 5 again. Been at these lessons for over a month now, so I'll give it one more try tomorrow... then walk away. You may have saved me valuable time I would have wasted learning (or trying to) more letters and future lessons. Very sad.
Thank you for watching... I'm hoping the review helps! I'll watch for a message tomorrow on your progress. If there are any things you think I can do to help your progress, I am all ears! My goal is to try to help folks learn CW.
This was a great lesson for me. When checking how I did against the key, I found a couple letters that I consistently miss. Now I know to work on those letter some more. I didn’t do as well as I’d hoped but I’ve come a long way since lesson #1. Thank you for doing this!
After several tries and stops, your videos have taken me further than I have gotten with others, BIG THANK YOU!!! I did like it when you would sound out the letters by saying dit and dah when you first introduce it. You were doing that in the beginning and stopped. I am a little hard of hearing and at first it is hard for me to pick up the tones until I look at it on a chart, then I seem to be able to pick up the sound. Thanks again, these have been a great help in my journey to learn CW.
LoL ... I'n Jonesin'... Love your style of teaching. Listen to these every day. When might you put out some number & punctuation lessons? Help a brother out 😉73" - K%MWA
Nice lesson. I'm up to lesson 9 on LCWO, but I've previously learnt all letters using morse mania app on my phone. I was able to spot the V and copy it 😅 It would be good to know what the effective speed was of that last group. I guess I can work it out, hold on. This has given me a ton of confidence in what I've already learnt! Thank you!
The time stamps suggest the last group took 157 seconds which is 2.61 minutes which with 73 characters is 27.9cpm, with 5cpm = 1wpm then the effective speed was 5.6wpm. That gets you a 5wpm certificate!
loving this course,I find this easier than formal lessons-got a question, what percentage should I be getting right before I move forward to the next lesson? ie this lesson I'm getting about 80% ish correct,is this enough to move on to the next lesson?
I enjoyed that a lot! I recently joined LICW and was able to copy your letters pretty well. Except for the V, lol. Would you mind sharing a link to the key? Thanks again!
About how many WPM do you guys think the second set of letters was sent? Yes, I know it wasn't the entirety of the alphabet and numbers, but that rate is about all I can do atm.
@k9kj Oh wow. I assumed the 1st set was around 5 WPM and the second set was nearly double that speed! With that logic the first set must've been about 1 or 2 WPM!!! Ouch!
Sympathise. I keep hearing the secon dah of W as a dit. But I'm hoping that with continued practice my ear will eventually pick up the difference. Aren't these great lessons?
Oh, that's a beautiful key. I hope I get good enough at Morse to be worthy of a key that beautiful.
That was great!

Thanks for your contributions; you are clear and precise.

Thank you so much for watching!

I know it took a while! Thanks for watching but I've got them out there now.
Im 70 years old. NO screaming 🙂

Great job on finding the V!!! ... and I think you are right - it was effectively like 5 WPM. Thanks for watching!

I would try for 100 percent... But of course balance that with not watching/listening too often since you might start the video/audio.

Thanks for watching! On the key, google: UR5CDX (It will be the first link)

I think that was right about 5 WPM effectively... With a character speed of 18 WPM.
@k9kj Oh wow. I assumed the 1st set was around 5 WPM and the second set was nearly double that speed! With that logic the first set must've been about 1 or 2 WPM!!! Ouch!
@@gmanbeavis let me double check that.. I could be wrong 😱
I am having trouble differentiating the sound of the R and W. They sound so close and its hard to tell the difference.
