The extra couple hundred lumens I could take or leave, but I got the 3 Pro specifically for the dial. If you don’t like it, just don’t use it… hit the button and it will go through low med high as usual. The dial is to get you brightness levels in between the set defaults, which I love.
Olight runs their commercials on most of your videos. They should be sending you free stuff by now buy unfortunately your honest reviews are too high risk for them to play ball. I like watching them but olight would probably see you as a liability since they can't play games with you like they can with those other paid reviewers.

I'm telling you man, the people that run the olight Facebook group are some sketchy authoritarian clowns. If you don't kiss olights butt they'll toss you out of the group really fast. I own both a Seeker 2 pro and now this Seek 3 pro.... Let me just say this.... THE SEEKER 3 PRO IS A PIECE OF SHIT!! The lockout is stupid as hell and that rotary switch IS JUNK!! Olight I WANT MY MONEY BACK OR JUST SEND ME ANOTHER SEEK 2 PRO... You totally got this WRONG
You forgot, where the heck is my Ldock? The seeker 2 came with an included Ldock and they skipped out on it this time around. You'd think they would include something like that for $160 for the model in this review. Rip off!
Great review! However, I also purchased a Seeker 3 Pro and the rotary dial on mine does not seem to be nearly as finicky as the rotary dial on your unit. Mine rotates smoothly up and down the brightness range, whereas yours seemed to work erratically. You might want to contact Olight, have them look at your video and have them tell you whether or not they think your Seeker 3 Pro’s rotary dial is defective.
It very well could be defective, but on a positive note, after breaking in the dial its works a bit smoother. However when needing to use it in a fast manner it's still a bit stiff and takes more focus than should be normal. I'll keep everyone updated if it needs to be repaired. Otherwise I enjoy it minus the auto lock out. What's you're thoughts on the auto lock out? 🔐 😎👍
The worst light I’ve seen for a while, does olight think customers are idiots, with proximity sensors and safety features, very complicated to use what’s wrong with keeping things simple, I don’t want to be fiddling with my flashlights when I’m in the dark, so rotary buttons are a waste of time. Especially if it operates like the video demonstrates. There are a lot of better lights available, probably at a cheaper price.

I mean from the warrior mini incident I can't really blame them, the whole thing was a mess. I didn't have any issues personally but people were lighting their pants on fire and I'm assuming that probably caused a lot of staff meetings with liability lawyer 🤣
@@PreparedGuy I i have warrior mini i take battery out lol on warrioir m2r pro i twist on warrior mini 2 i twist im waiting for this flashlight to ship and my seeker 2 pro i twist until it cant come on atleast they were nice enough to disable prox center but i still think my pd36r best flashlight ever 😀 i love olight though

Great review, thank you! I had the seeker 2 pro for two years and just got the new seeker 3 pro. In my opinion, the automatic lock feature is actually very useful atleast for me, I don't need to switch modes all the time, and I hate to manually lock the seeker 2 every time I put it back in my pocket. Seeker 2 has burnt two holes in my pocket because it accidentally turns on in my pocket, I don't see that happening with the Seeker 3 since it automatically locks. Seeker 3 unlock is pretty easy and quick compared to Seeker 2, which automatically open's the moon light after unlocking, then you need to hold the button to get your desired lumens. For seeker 3 you just slide the roll thingy and press the button, automatically have the latest used power output. Best regards. OC

@@DarkSim77 It is a big deal not because of the time needed but because many people would forget to do it. For powerful flashlights locking has to be automatic, like in the Seeker 3 Pro.
You can still use the seeker 3 pro like the seeker 2 pro by pressing and holding the button to cycle through the modes.

I just picked one up,to me it's the best light I've ever had,all the controls are very intuitive and I have no problem navigating the different modes
It's definitely a great light. I just wasn't a big fan of the rotory switch and the automatic lock out mode. Some folks might like it. I rarely use mine because of it. However I do use it. 😁👍
Great review, but I actually found, using my Seeker 3 pro the past couple weeks for hunting, that I liked the new switch. I wouldn't pay money over my Seeker 2 pro, but I do like the Seeker 3 as well.
And I do have the orange one. I don't think I'd like the one without the grips as well.
funny review....LOL....... Hell, I'm over 70 and have no issues working the rotary switch at all....Turning it on from lockout, doesn't take near as many turns as you make it look...Takes less then 1/2 turn to get mine out of lockout...and for someone that thinks that waiting a whole 30 seconds for the lockout is Crazy......Thinks that mere Minutes more of runtime, is just Trivial, as you put it....LOL.....
Baton 3 with charging case is better to have. If you need power on distance, I eould go with the Javelot
That dial and lockout seems EXTREMELY annoying. That sensor may be useful but i fear that it's a gimmicky add-on that unnecessarily increases the price. Overall i think it's what Olight generally is to me: amazing aesthetics, messed functionality and dubious pricing.
Light is awesome, buy it and try it before you form an opinion that you see on utube.
You make it completely too complicated with that damn dial all you do is unlock it and you can tap the button it'll step up to turbo and whatever settings you want as well the dial is stupid

I’ve had my R50 Seeker for years and decided to upgrade with this sale. After getting my hands on the light I can say I’m not crazy about the rotary dial, but it’s not been a deal beaker for me.
My r50 has just gave up the ghost.... I have the mini merauder but was looking at this torch alas a handy size
ive never liked the proximity sensors on the lights. lack of cri and warm temp options for leds and proproetary batteries are all negatives for me. That being said some are decent for the price.
I hate proprietary batteries. And they are never in stock it seems to get extra. Can a regular 21700 work on this light?

A proprietary battery, proprietary charger, annoying lockout, annoying rotary dial and interface. That's a hard pass, much better lights for the money that aren't gimmicky. Great review mate. 👍

I'm wondering about Olights quality lately. Me and my pal both have a Warrior Mini 2 and both have a Freyr. Both our Warriors and Freyrs have a different beam colour and intensity -and yes we made sure they were fully charged before comparing. I'm giving Thrunite a try instead
I totally agree. The quality control for the led tints are almost non existent. I've experienced the same thing with my warrior mini 2, I own 5 of them and none of them have the same color tint. A couple are close but the other 3 aren't even remotely consistent.
@@PreparedGuy My friends Mini 2 has a mint, brilliant white beam. Mine has a yellowy beam with less throw. Mine also seems to get hotter faster.
On the other hand my Freyr is practically a laser beam whereas my friends is simply passable. We live in UK. The Freyr retails for up to £130 -that's pounds not dollars. Right now with 'Brexit' and the economy being all crazy the exchange rate isnt what it should be. But in normal times £130 is like $180. If you are going to charge $180 for a torch at least use a freaking decent quality LED!

@@PreparedGuy One question: My Warrior Mini 2 is only a matter of weeks old. Do you think having a yellower tint means my LED is actually faulty or just different? I'm not so bothered about the colour, but would it be likely to break down or malfunction? I could still send it back I guess, but if its just a colour issue I wouldn't bother.
That's a good question. If you look closely at the led itself wheb the light is off and you can see darker yellowing near the outside or near the center anywhere on the bulb itself, I would send it back. It means that the led could be damaged. However if it is a consistant clear yellow throughout then it should be OK.
Sure wish I would have found your video before purchasing the Seeker 3 Pro. The spin dial is not very user friendly and is very clunky to use. Watching the manufacturer’s video certainly makes it seem a lot easier to use. It’s crazy after owning the light for several days I’m coming to YT watching videos to see if I’m using the dial switch correctly. 😢 I truly like their products, but this isn’t one of them due the spin dial.
Agreed. The new Marauder mini has a rotary dial and it's much more pronounced and easier to turn. I would highly recommend it over the seeker 3 pro. The seeker 2 pro is still one of my favorite lights. If the seeker 3 pro had a normal switch it would be the better light. It's just not intuitive enough for me. I don't wanna have to make sure I rotate the switch the right amount before it will turn on and I don't want to have to have it auto lock each time I stop using it for 30 seconds.
Thanks for honesty. I’ve gone away from olight. Trying new brands. Much better out there. I picked an Astrolux EA01 over the Seeker.
Can I use trubo any time of battery level or only over 75% ? and when battery is lower than 75%, only high level ,no trubo anymore ? thx
No, turbo doesn't work under 75% battery
Thanks for the review, I bought the orange version properly informed now (I was hesitant about the higher price, but the silicone grip was well spotted with regards to heat and I found a good discount cheaper than a 2 pro). Your rotation button is broken though, quick flick here to turn it on and instant response when dimming, not all related to my slightly more nimble guitar fingers. Lockout delay is a little poor design, two flicks rotating to the left could have been a cool feature/enhancement to lock it. Overall I like it, need to use it a bit more but I much prefer it over my two Fenix and my Ledlenser lights. Only real pet peeve for me is the lack of a safety strap, fortunately it is so much better I just took one from a PD30 Fenix light, but for the price I would have expected a good strap with it.
I've never had the 2pro but I do really like the 3pro DT... I honestly can't say anything bad bout it... Very good detailed video...

Your switch is broken
I think you need to turn the dial slower for better response. Seen another review and it seemed to work flawlessly and to lock it and half turn should be enough.

Good day! I just started watching your content. My question for you is, what EDC flashlight.....like the Olight seeker 3 pro.....what brand do you carry or prefer? This was a really good review
I EDC the Olight warrior mini 3 currently, I keep the warrior x 3 in my car, and the warrior 3S in my EDC bag. There are 3 new OLIGHT models that are unreleased that are going to be amazing. I am currently testing them and I would wait until they're announced in the next few weeks. Once they're released they will take the place of my current off body EDC lights that I mentioned.

My R50 Seeker died literally days under 5 years and hats off to Olight, they are replacing it with the Seeker 3. It’s my wife’s light and she loved the R50 Seeker, hopefully she feels the same about the Seeker 3.

I have a seeker 3 but forgot how the override works hence your vid was very useful. I bought it on one of the promotions and the real sell for me was the power and the dial allows me to adjust the light level for light painting. But I agree because the dial is used for so many functions it makes it somewhat complicated to use which is not a sell factor for light painters.

Good review and agreed on everything.. now is it just my seeker 3 or are they all like this; the rotary dial feels crap to turn on mine, like it isn't using bearings at all.. almost feels like it's rotating on rough cardboard.. if it was a nice rotation i wouldn't mind... I'm general the dial is crap anyway, slow to react, you can't turn it fast or it wontb register anything (i think this is part of the 'finnicky' you mention because you're turning it at a reasonable speed.. try turning it stupidly slow and it always seems to work)
Still not too upset because of the price i got it for on sale in aus.. cheaper than i could get a seeker 2 pro for.. all in all id prefer a seeker 2 unfortunately..
OLIGHT. have a thumb switch instead of a turning crap, up 20 degrees increases light power down 20 degrees decreases light power. have the change uniformly linear instead of weird step changes (which is probably the flaw in your testing) the toggle in the seeker 3 is under powered to adjust brightness. come on, now.

You can but you need to unlock it everytime using the wheel.

when comparing immanency make sure to lock your camera's exposure.. with iphone hold down to lock exposure
Hopefully OLIGHT has seen this video and has made the needed chages for the 2023 replacement. Otherwise we should try to find the S2 Pro....which I believe is still available and for half hte cost of the S3 Pro. :) Maybe Olight needs to work on their QC....have a consistency.

If you do it slowly it response really well. it literally said it in the instructions not to do it too fast.

I would 🤣👍 I mean it's not bad but at the same time it's not really much better. I'd just by another seeker 2 pro. At least that came with am odock when it came out. This thing is the same price and you get practically nothing.
I would prefer the seeker 2 over the seeker 2pro, I have both and the pro version has a slight delay when turning on
i just got it and i’m a little annoyed because my olight archer (1000 lumin thrower) is clearly brighter than this “4200” seeker 3 pro so i pulled out another 1000 lumin flashlight and again it was brighter than this…. WTH!? and then the interface sucks as well

I love your review on the speaker 3 pro I just purchased one for black Friday sale a few days ago and I noticed on mine they removed the wolf design and added the grip which I really like gonna try it out to see if they fixed those small issues you had on the previous one
The wolf design was a limited edition. Honest I wish I just got the regular with the grip 😂👍
THE MODE SYSTEM BLEW MY MIND. TOO DIFFICULT FOR ME TO WATCH AND WORRY ABOUT. There are plenty of other high end products to compete with olight.

NO leave the damn tail switch on the warrior and leave the seeker pro lineup alone it’s my favorite light they make s1r2 baton is favorite tiny carry but just normal average size the seeker 2/3 pro is awesome.
I HATE THE KNOB. I watched this video to see if mine is broken. It works as poorly as yours does and I'm very unhappy with it. Really a poor, inconsistent design from Olight. A manual lockout is preferred to this design.

The rotary, and auto lock out are why I didn't buy.
Less I missed it u did not even show the most important feature of the light. The magnetic base. To me is only thing o light has going for it and most can't stick out horizontal. Can this 1?

Seeker 3 is understandable and yes it is great knowing that the features I am willing to work with good job willing to percentage. Looking forward to hearing more on these exciting lights. Five thumbs up 👆.
I had a Seeker Pro and hated the 3 Pro but recently gave it another try and I like it.
Looks a load of bollocks, would rather go for the 2 like you. But then again I'd prob prefer to just stick with my r50, USB charging is much better, the mag chargers just are temperamental to say the least.
No way mine is doing 250 meters maybe 100 feet. Idk maybe its just not very dark with snow.
Have the the seeker 3 pro, you are right, the rotary is a stupid thing, it makes me not using the light (I always take my Baton 2), so wasted money for me.

I couldn't find any info that was made public that would let us turn off the lock out mode.
If you want to read the Gospel then I will put something like that in my replies, but if you read that then you should still read the complete Gospel. Not much point really watching the rest of the review if the charging system on these is defective.
I like my Streamlights. Not a fan of the multiple modes and the dial.. I like a light that I can push a button and the light comes on..I also do not need a proximty senser. KISS, Although, you made agreat video, keep'em coming.

I can't stand the functionality of this with the wheel, I can't figure out how to turn it on or off half the time.
You can use the buttons like the old also your not limited to the rotary function for the levels. Just an fyi
Yeah we can kinda see that from the video. Hence the clicking to go into turbo and such and him pushing down the buttons separately from using the rotary dial like 50 times in the video.

Must be honest and say dial looks OK and beam shots against seeker 2 pro as I thought seeker 2 is just as bright. I own seeker 2 pro and I must say is it worth upgrading to seeker 3 pro if you own seeker 2 pro?

Honestly the extra lumens help slightly. It has slightly better runtimes than the seeker 2 but I truly like the seeker 2 as a stable for the seeker series. The seeker 3 is really nice but it all comes down to preference. I don't particularly like having to unlock the light constantly because it has the auto lock out. The dial is finicky when you're in a rush to use it. All in all I wish they just added more lumens to the seeker 2 and called it a seeker 3. The proximity sensor is a good feature and I like that it has an override feature to turn the sensor off. But the seeker 2 just feels like a safer bet in a stressful situation. If your just goofing around camping and there is not emergency I would choose the seeker 3 as it is safer to use over all but if you're mindful of your gear and don't need an auto lock or a proximity sensor then the seeker 2 is more than sufficient. go by your needs. My opinion might help but at the end of the day your needs mater more than anything. I like them both so I bought both but if I had to really choose which one I was going to be stuck in the woods with it would be the seeker 2.

To turn it on, you only have to turn the wheel for 90 degrees, not like you did where you kept turning the wheel several times.
I know, there was an issue with my light. For some reason it was having issues with the wheel.

I prefer just the simple button switch of click for on and click n hold for modes. Honestly, I’ve had good success with Olights never had issues with them. And Surefires are insanely expensive. I like all the magnetic charging on Olight as well

Thanks for your excellent review. I have the Seeker 2. Due to what appear to be no real updates, and indeed seem to be hindrances, i'll not be buying the new Seeker 3. I just don't think that it's a reasonable requirement.
Simple and honest review, I like it! I still like my Seeker Pro 3. It’s easy for me to use the dial, but it’s subjective.

@@PreparedGuy i have one too, and for many reasons i think it's one of their best products, it can be as tactical as it needs to be but i use them at home for ambiance when put on the cone with different colors, their so many high lume lights but heats up so fast but this one proves to be the coolest based on my long walk experience, the over hyped edc flashlight is so over rated, most aren't edc anyway so the head of fryer is a bit bigger but still got that small form factor too...do a review on this you'll get more viewers

Same. I ordered mine last week when they were running their value pack deals. Although I got the light for 40% off, so I cant complain about a good flashlight with that deal.

This video saved me the money I almost spent buying this exact model and colour, I'll just buy the Warrior 3 instead and wait for better future models. Thanks for pointing out the drawbacks (switch knob and overheating in particular which was disappointing to see).
The dial switch is such a no no
Not sure if I got a lemon but, Turbo mode on my 3 Pro is NOT accessible after the battery indicator drops to 75%. Could anyone confirm that this is a feature? Pretty ridiculous if it is. I assumed I could access Turbo down to roughly 25% battery life...
Unfortunately they are designed this way. It's to help make the battery last as long as possible but I personally don't like the feature. There is nothing wrong with your flashlight other than the company not making this fact clear to any of us. Hope this helps. I bet you wish it was just defective now 😂👍
@@PreparedGuy Damn! Ya, I kinda do wish it was defective now lol. I mean, I would totally be willing to sacrifice some battery life for more sustainable output. Or at least give us down to 50%. I actually even bought an extra battery right before I picked this light up because I figured I'd be burning through them due to running turbo mode all the time #sigh
