awesome - what does it do road? i see these engines ranging from 2k-6k - how much work on yours was needed..? adaptor plate? made to spec or available otc?
A million times better than the new 'Jeeps.' In fact the dodges are rated in the top ten most unreliable vehicles along with mini cooper and land rover. My father had a Willys with a Perkins diesel several decades ago. They came from the factory with Perkins diesel engines, they are rare. I have an Isuzu Pup with a four cylinder diesel. No one has been making diesel engines longer than Isuzu, with the exception of Peugot. They are some of the best diesel engines ever manufactured.
Way cool. If I had to replace the flat head, I'd be with a Kubota. I have a Kubota 3 cylinder naturally aspirated diesel in a sailboat, Kubota makes great little diesels. Question: was color is your paint? Like it!
Awesome job Gary!.. you guys all doing these kubota swaps are gonna make me do this to my 46 2A... my flathead is getting long in the tooth... what is the torque rating of the 2203?
Thanks Jerry, I don't know the torque rating and I took a quick look on the internet and didn't come up with any numbers - it has tons more torque than the original Go Devil engine! You should do the swap, I just chipped away at it a little at a time, trying to do at least one thing each day...
Hey! No modification to the Transmission bellhousing itself but an aluminum adapter plate was used between the bellhousing and the Kubota engine block. The adapter is approximately 1/2" thick. you can make the plate yourself if you have the skill, as some people do, or the plate can be purchased from Overland Diesel.
Great engines. We had some on our grounds equipment at one of the golf courses I worked at.
Very neat and classy conversion.
Thank you!
That's very clean! Nothing beats a diesel Jeep!
that set up is CLEAAAN
Beautyful....! Nice kabuta engine sound.
That engine is art
Clean job my friend
I have a hard time believing that that is the "first" start up of that engine swap....lol....
Right…no air in the lines. That was not the first startup.
Nice, I have 2 old jeeps, & 2 v2203 engines. I see at least one engine swap in my near future!
How much the swap cost to you
That looks amazing. Great job!
Wicked cool.
Beautiful job.
Absolutely gorgeous.
That thing is clean!
Beautiful Jeep, nice motor
This is beyond sweet.
👍 that will run for ever.
Do You Have A Parts List for The Swap?
How much to complete your project?
Hello how do you connect the turbo oil drain?
Love this

Good sir I like Willy jeep
Thanks!
Very tasteful installation! What is the horse power?
The brochure states 39.9HP at 2800RPM (w/o the turbo). But, I'm seeing 50-55hp listed on eBay auctions (w/o turbo).
Wonderfull!!👍👍
That is awsome
Beatiful

Great.
Why is the key over there....?
more info please or list of what is needed.
Aqui no Brasil faltou willys a diesel. Só tem a gasolina a gasolina é muito cara Aqui no Brasil.
Looks great, what oil pan did you end up using?
Que cilindrada tiene el motor, y de que marca es? Y cómo lo ajustaron con la caja de cambios ?
es de 4 cilindros y tiene q cortar una placa para adaptar la caja, y modificar el volante en torno para aceptar embrague
1400 for the adapter kit? Seems steep
Hey Josh you can always make one yourself! Go for it!

The Engine Block Paint is Dupli-Color Engine Enamel with Ceramic - The color is Grey, I don't think they have another name for the color.

What kind of trans and transfer case are ya using? Adapters plates ect? You have piqued my curiosity.
I’m using the stock transmission and transfer case with a Warn overdrive setup. I had an adapter plate made up by Overland Diesel
@@MrGaryradford Thanks I get in touch with Overland Diesel
@@MrGaryradford What's the nomenclature on the Kubota?
Did you need to modify the transmission tunnel?

@@MrGaryradford Great job on the mod!
What's your mpg?
I’m getting 33-35 miles per gallon. My original L head motor never got more than 18mpg...
Sounds like a bunch of Rock's in a washing machine, I hate noisy diesel's, but nice install
Well, the noisy the better.
If u know what I mean.
@@Amarillobymorning777 not really, quitter the better
Nice job, but I would of left it stock couldn't put up with that rattley thing
typ motor
Come on now that is not a first start up
A Japanese engine in a WWII Jeep? Talk about sacrilege. Blasphemous.
