It's definitely beautiful and there's a lot of soul put into it, and that was before I found out that the title was "Wondering About My Loved Ones". That phrase, coupled with that awesome title screen and backstory, give BJ so much more character than a lot of other action video game leads who rack up a bodycount in the hundreds.

This is one of those songs that's nostalgic yet strangely relevant to the troubles of today. It's like you're listening to a retrospective from the future - it's the kind of music you'd hear in a documentary that describes your era fifty years from now.
I remember playing Wolfenstein 3D, and at the time Dad showed me the Doom before Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, it was weird, because gameplay was slightly different, but I got used to it. So he taught me what to do, and he gave me the difficulty "can I play, Daddy?", which fits of who I am. And I didn't know the plot so I made my own, about being an innocent man being kidnapped by evil police officers for unknown reasons. Dad taught me when fighting enemies(including bosses) I should take cover and more.

This song really reminds me that despite being an exaggerated action shooter with mecha hitler, this game still takes place during the second world war
I finally figured out what Bobby Prince must have referenced for this one: The Phantom of the Opera (title track). He took it far away from the source material, but the bassline is unmistakable. (I don't think Prince has ever written a game soundtrack without interpolation of some reference - it defines his work).
Damn I played silent wolf3d since I did not own a sound card back then, just frickin loud *beep* *beep* pc speaker effects. Few years later I finally got Sound blaster 2.0 so I could listen these fantastic tunes. Ahhhhh...😂
Wolfenstein games made up until Young Blood (the first in the series not to insult you for playing on easy)? The Deadpool game? Both of the AVGN games? Doom Eternal to a certain extent? Those are a few examples that disprove that statement.
Here cause an article in my newsfeed said that this game is finally available in Germany. (Don't mention the war! I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it.)
Always felt this should have became the theme to the Wolfenstein franchise.

Absolutely.
Unfortunate it didn't. Could have been amazing with the composition used in Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
I wonder why it isn't
If there’s a Wolfenstein 3 to finish the modern saga, I would love a nod to this theme.

this is so atmospheric for a 1992 PC game
Никогда раньше не играл в эту игру, но музыка вызывает дикую ностальгию

Not the father we deserve, but the father we need
Okay
"A peaceful man should be prepared for times of war."
Your father was very wise.
Surprisingly accurate to real life lore lol. A lot of innocent people were kidnapped by evil policemen.
Kind of accurate to the Wolf-3D storyline, the gestapo were considered the secret police after all
Man, It'd be a joy to see ID make a new game in the classic style.
It's like they have no idea that Boomer Shooters are super popular again. They really need to cash in on this!

I will never forget this music
for those that came from doom eternal, this is wolfenstein 3d's menu theme
we know, the game where the song belongs is showed when you play it
We know. the unmissable text saying ‘Wolfenstein 3-D’ proves my point
You don't say?
Nice observation, Sherlock, you’ve solved the case
I think they were just trying to give context for Eternal players who hadn’t played Wolf3D.
I believe the MENU THEME part was the important bit.

this is genuinely one of the saddest sounding songs to be on an ID ost. just feels like reflection and mourning. the title really fits well.
This sounds like B.J is still in his cell, thinking about the family and friends he had to leave. Giving him the determination to fight.
Sounds like wolfenstein 3d machine games remake
His prison clothes looked so comfy

epic nostalgic music & game!
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood's menu theme is inspired by this, that's cool
I miss my childhood and my 486dx
I feel bad for anon, who would’ve thought that the theme song for the game where you shoot the nazis would be the nazi anthem
It isn't Third Reich anthem tho
I just bought this for my xbox, didn't know it was possible! It was 5 dollars, worth it.
The phantom of the opera in the back tho
I think this should've been used as The New Order's main theme, fits the game's theme alot.
this hits hard.
is it just me or does this sound catchy

I'd be interested in seeing somebody document every track Prince has done, with the inspirations (or, you know, blatant plagiarisms.)

Is that the actual name of the song?
Well according to the Doom eternal collectible albums it is
Guess that explains the abundance of comments from folks clueless about this game in general.
