Aside from the M2, Convoy has always been a slam dunk in design and machining. Their form factors please me so much that I have always kept a Convoy in my pocket for about 5 years now.
I'm gonna grab an Apache case to save a couple bucks but I wasn't sure which size I want to grab since I ordered my L7 - this will help a lot. Your description of the knurling reminds me of my Emisar D4SV2 - it's smooth until you actually grip it. These are bigger, but I really like when a company is able to manage that little trick. All fair points. I also prefer the traditional form factor of the L7 to the soda can form factor. Its like carrying a small stick which is comfortable to hold and can be used defensively in a pinch. I also love the sofirn sf47t for this reason.
Wow what a great case setup and collection, so many Hank lights (I'm obsessed with the D4V2)! I just ordered the 918 (still waiting for it to arrive) planning to go with the foam, but after seeing your setup wondering if I should switch to the dividers and use the little foam pieces between, we'll see how it goes. L7 looks nice but too long for me, I'm planning to get a K1 eventually, not sure yet on Emitters but that 90.2 looks amazing so I could have flood and throw at the same time.
You can pick up padded dividers inserts on Amazon for many case sizes. I would not consider a K1 SBT90.2 flood at all. In the small reflector of the KR1, it becomes more floody, but it’s still very throwy. I found that the KR1vn hotspot was about the same size as the Manker E05 if you wanted to go with OSRAM.
@@cheule I hadn't heard of the Manker, looks like a decent pocket light, especially in Ti. I ended up ordering the K1 SBT90.2, as I know it will take a bit to reach me and the curiosity is just too strong. The other part is I was looking for something to convince me to not buy the Olight Warrior X Turbo. As yeah the Camo version on sale right now is really cool looking but the emitter looks like junk and not enough modes. I do have the Pro though and that in NW was pretty good.
Received mine yesterday, I like the switch set up also. Tail strictly on/off, side switch mode selection. With mode memory preselected, ON/OFF to be only ON/OFF and no mode scrolling or mode reset. Balance very happy with it's just as you described. As is the grip texture, very friendly but grippy. Extra weight over some others. This I believe is very needed to absorb all the heat generated. My only improvement would be for Convoy to make a body tube for 26800 batteries.
I would love to mod or change the driver of L7 to push more amps into sbt90.2. Do you have any ideas? I know running it above 20A has impact on its life but I would love a 7500 lumen turbo mode on L7 :)
i love the looks of this light for sure lol and now they have a new light convoy L21B that or L21A that looks just like this light except it only uses 21700 cell witch is cool but yeah convoy is getting better for sure and they are listening to there customers for sure but yeah love this light i will buy one for christmas lol i want to get the L21A or L21B with the SBT90.2 led so god bless and thanks for making these videos for people like me

I would find a FET enabled driver that you can set the mode spacing. Then you would only be limited by battery drain. Have you driver swapped before?

I wish they made the K1 26650. It would definitely help even out the proportions.
the l8 is like a 26800 k1
for the case of the 4x18a the 3x21a is a bit longer and not much thicker afaik for anyone still interested in that
