    Some mindless simpletons watch these tv shows. Just the utter lack of critical thinking is mind-boggling when people compare this episode to an episode of Les Stroud's survivorman and proclaim therefore that Les is hardcore and that Ray is a tourist. The premise of survivorman is dropping Les in extreme situations and viewing how he attempts to survive. Ray's series is about exploring the indigenous populations, examining their culture and bushcraft. Comparing the two is idiotic and misguided.

  • @mattxr2i
    @mattxr2i 12 років тому +4

    I really like the way Ray goes about these shows. It is a survival show and a cultural show in one. Unlike other "bush craft/survival" shows that go on about "some of the most dangerous places on Earth" He goes about it in a fashion that shows how much the Earth really had to offer if you just know what to look for and as a testimonial interacts with people who have been doing so for generations. Very well made show and Thank you so much Darkorian S for these uploads!

    All I can say is that Ray is the best. He has respect for the land, the animals, and the people who live there. He shows useful plants and techniques that pertain to real life survival, pulse he connects them to many of his previous experiences. As far as survival, Ray always projects the most important rule when in a challenging situation, keep calm and use your skills. Many of the other survivalist are just in it for the entertainment and to create a "scary" situation. Simply mindless...

    How does this conversation ruin the show for other people? Surely there are far worse comments here than mine. I agree it's off topic. But that still doesn't ruin the show. You can ignore my comment if you like.
    Also, the pub is a bad place to talk about prostitutes. Unless it happens to be a sausage party. But not in front of the ladies is my point. The internet is different. Thanks to basic anonymity I can be as honest as I like.

  • @adronias
    @adronias 12 років тому

    Ray just doesn't make those entertainment shows the like of Grylls and Stroud. Shows that are incredibly inauthentic and disingenuous. You'd be a mug though to think that he couldn't survive in any location those shows bullshit you into believing bear escapes from. Or that Stroud is in any real danger from predators. That his producers have plopped him into a part of africa that is rife with predators and not somewhere where there's one cat every 50 square miles, and they don't approach people.

    wow. I am simply amaze of how stupid some ppl can be. You watch both and u can't even tell the different in their point of what both are trying to teach. Calling Rey a tourist is like the same as calling Les an unsociable tourist.I suggest u watch more of Rey's video and try to pay attention. I watch both, and both do give good information.Both are the best. I learn many things from both but mainly Rey because he give more then need info.If ur gona watch something at least attempt to understand.

  • @AlbertaWildman
    @AlbertaWildman 12 років тому

    Yeah, no kidding. I am amazed how stupid some people can be, take yourself for example. You have no idea what the person you quoted was talking about, yet you slander them anyways. Stroud tackled the African Plains solo, using what he could scavenge from a hot air balloon. Mears need to go on a literal safari to do it. I like Mears, Stroud is just more hardcore.

  • @84bagge

    The series is about teaching bushcraft, not living it.... Ray mears wrote and published his first book about bushcraft skills at age 19, so yea... I dont think he gives a shit about what musician Les Stroud thinks about him.

    • @EVZebra

      Hi keep in mind that guy doesn't understand English so he didn't know what they were talking about, so its a bit difficult for him to answer if he doesn't know what is being discussed.
      We know them in Africa, they called "MAL PITTE" or "MAD SEEDS" the legend is that if you eat them you go permanently mad, that is what you are warned about them, from as young as you can remember, so you just dont bother trying them, there are lots of poisonous plants in Africa so you only eat what you know for sure wont do you any harm you dont go around trying things if you are 6 hours away from a hospital.
      I recently checked up on them and found a video on youtube of a guy who had been tripping for 3 months solid after taking them once.
      And he was complaining he wasn't happy he said "I am getting really worried its been 3 months and it just wont go away":. Now I know for sure where the legend comes from and why.

    Fantastic program, thanks a bunch Ray! And thanks also for being absolutely honest in revealing the truth that white hunters posted the greatest danger of all in destroying the world's wildlife, particularly the last several centuries. Your honesty is refreshing and much appreciated by this conservationist. I have seen a lot of angry messages posted by white people who blamed other races of people for keeping a few fish or hunting a few animals as a way to subsidize their subsistent way of life. Your honesty helps put those unfounded bigoted notions to rest and reveal them for what they really are ---- angry racist comments designed to distort the truth and stir up hate for people of colors while at the same time causing turmoil and mistrust among all people. Thank you again for your honesty and for bringing people together rather than divide.

      yes, we did alot of damage with trophy hunting, but realize that now, without trophy hunting, there would be NO reserves, NO rangers, NO anti-poaching patrols and NO effective efforts at conservation!
      i think we are doing what we can to, try and repair the damage we did
