Jacky Vincent 2017 Update: Go listen to Jacky Vincent's solo work, they are not even comparable at this point. 2018 Update: Again, listen to his solo work.
It’s like boring and repetitive montes solos all have more personality and like flavor to them they’re like screaming at you and singing but jacks are boring like loops of just fast shredding and the Melodie’s that sometimes form sound so rushed and generic so montes just are so much better
It's pointless to say that someone is "better" at playing guitar than someone else. They're both completely different guitarists with completely different styles, Jacky has more of a neoclassical shred style while Monte has more of a bluesy shred kind of guy that sticks to playing within a form of a major scale. They're both great guitarists. I can't choose.
Jacky! When he plays the guitar you just have to rock out to it. His beat goes so well with the music that is unbelievable. You will never know what jacky throws at you with his guitar it's something every time
Fast does not equal good. Also, look up Tosin Abasi or literally any guitarist in any black metal band ever and you'll find someone faster. Vincent plays fast, but lacks any sort of cadence or expression in his playing.
Check out Jacky's solo stuffs. And if you only hear sweeps in this video, than give more concentration. Jacky's an awesome logatto player, economy picks flawlessly, and I like them both.
Monte is better with writing and melodies, jacky just plays fast, I love them both personally though, could you imagine if they did a duet solo? That'd be rad haha
I think they're both incredible guitarist. I think Jacky takes the cake when it comes to skill but who sounds better is very subjective bc they sound different. They play different axes with different effects and with different people on the bass and drums.
I give props to both guitarists because I love them most but I would personally give this one to Jacky because of his shredding but that's just my style
Monte Down picks like a nub cake compared to jacky lol. Get outa here with that "Monte has better technique" If anything Monte deff has more feeling behind the riffs lol. And Jacky is more roboty technique
I'd say monte is a better riff writer imo but Jacky is more technical of a player but he does over use sweeps like some great players do or just tries to play fast and technical like look what I can do. As for monte is more of the guitar player to step back and play just what makes the song better. So yeah I think Jacky is technically better I think monte is also technically sound I just think he is a song writer also as in lyrics and plays more instruments so he is more on what makes a song better more than just tryptophan shred every chance he gets. So it all depends on what you're looking for in your band they are both very underrated though ...
Going to have to vote jacky, he has a great amount of control for the speed he is emitting in his various forms of techniques and also his melodic side which can be seen in his own album. but that's simply my opinion
Skrumpenisse98 I realy didn't want to compare these two because I love both, but after hearing Jackies album (solo) people should really stop saying that Jackie has a 'lack of rhythm' because he is an awsome guitarist and he does have rythm. For me I think Jackie wins
Jacky is faster, maybe more technical. But his solos are quite lame. Just pointless shreds with no melodic suspense. Monte is hands down a better writer. His solo's are less 'show off' and crazily fast, but to my ear his work is much more catchy and musically sophisticated.
Both Monte and Jacky are far from the best. Jacky's solos have almost no emotion. While Monte may not be able to play as fast, he adds more structure, musicality, emotion, and style into his solos than Jacky. From a guitarist's point of view, Monte is a better writer and player.
I think they are both about equally amazing, but I agree that I think that its hard to compare them bc they each play different styles like Monte plays a diffrerent kind of post hard core that adds rock, pop punk, and metalcore styles and Jacky is more post hard core.
I say this everytime, you guys completely forget Born To Lead was released almost a year before you were typing these comments. Listen. To. Jacky. Don't just say random stuff without knowing the other guy.
@@djthree3134 are you stupid? ETF’s first album came out in 2006. And I have listened to Jacky . Also why are you replying to a comment I posted 9 years ago.
@@Candela115 You had balls to say I was stupid, considering your entire comment misunderstood everything I said. Born To Lead is a Falling In Reverse song, with one of Jacky's BEST solos, far better than WWBD and TWIO. With speed picking, sweeping, and just a lot of techniques mixed into one massive solo. 9 years ago, Born To Lead had been released for a while, I was pointing out you clearly hadn't listened to it. So practically your whole reply was irrelevant, because the year doesn't matter either.
Guys.. Jacky is lightning years better than Monte. i dont say that Money is not as shreddy but Jacky, has one of the best shred skills in modern metal and for those who say he does not have melody means that you dont know his playing style and havent heard the solo album. Monte has nice solos too, but he is pretty sloppy. Jacky in my opinion is the fastest, most accurate and melodic shredder in the modern metal and shred.
Both are extremely talented and very similar. Jacky's solos tend to be faster and more technical than Monte's but he overuses the sweeps. It seems that Brian is more "versatile" while soloing, so I'd probably go for Monte (I prefer FIR than ETF tho). Anyway, sure Jacky can nail Brian's solos and viceversa.
Jacky Vincent

Yep, *awakener* is awesome!

Ronnie just surrounds himself with awesome guitar players.

what's the song called from Monte shredding
the first one I mean
cant decide. love them both and their both great guitarists
the solo of "this war is ours" is amazing and a clasic, but Jacky is better
Jacky Vincent all the way
Jessica Ventimiglia my money is on money
Someone please explain how Jacky Vincent isn't one of the fastest Guitar Players in current existance
Fast does not equal good. Also, look up Tosin Abasi or literally any guitarist in any black metal band ever and you'll find someone faster. Vincent plays fast, but lacks any sort of cadence or expression in his playing.
he has actually made a song with michael angelo batio !
Jake Sibley Vincent is from FAR the fastest guitarist but in my opinion he is one of the best ever :)
lucas jecobsen welp that's you're opinion and whatever but imo it's wrong he's really generic and uninspired
Has anyone here heard Jackie's solo album? That completely changed my opinion on his guitar skills.
Monte
Trust me Jacky is fantastic
But all he does is sweep and shred
Monte has style
So monte wins
Check out Jacky's solo stuffs. And if you only hear sweeps in this video, than give more concentration. Jacky's an awesome logatto player, economy picks flawlessly, and I like them both.
Sweep picking isn’t easy
Bharati Patowary yes he is he could be compared to mark tremonti
For you guys saying jacky has not creativity and his playing isn't very melodic go listen to his solo albums
Valerie yup jacky never fucks up live while monte kinda do.. i met jacky he is a shy guy. with no ego.. he was so nice to me
Don't even need to listen to his solo stuff, just listen to the Just Like You album and the whole creativity and melodic argument is done for.
They're both amazing, but I must choose one sooooo...Jacky.
Jacky Vincent. Because he's now going onto solo career behind fir. All his solos have a story 😊xxxx
Sophia Adamson ye his solos are a story a star cross speed story >.> lol
Whoops he left FiR
Jacky Vincent 💛❤️💛💜💙💜💙
Both, they are both amazing and 10,000X better than me!!
I prefer monte cause he actually has awesome solos. I hate listening to solos that all sweep and shredding. But Jacky has some cool solos.
Monte is better with writing and melodies, jacky just plays fast, I love them both personally though, could you imagine if they did a duet solo? That'd be rad haha
I think they are both amazing, I would be so happy if I could play as well as either of them
Two different players . They're both great!
I can't choose, honestly.
I really love both bands & they are both amazing guitarist.
I think they're both incredible guitarist. I think Jacky takes the cake when it comes to skill but who sounds better is very subjective bc they sound different. They play different axes with different effects and with different people on the bass and drums.
They are both extremely talented guitarists
What is the song with the first solo of jacky vincent
whats the first falling in reverse song?
what song is that ? ( 2:49 )
Monte is great but from a shred guitarist's perspective jacky definitely wins
I give props to both guitarists because I love them most but I would personally give this one to Jacky because of his shredding but that's just my style
Monte Down picks like a nub cake compared to jacky lol. Get outa here with that "Monte has better technique" If anything Monte deff has more feeling behind the riffs lol. And Jacky is more roboty technique
Monte definetly!!! He has mad rythm while a jackie does is sweep
Jacky pics faster then monte and monte mainly uses Hammer ons where as jacky picks the majority of his riffs
What is that first song by monte?
What is that first song for monte?
and also whats the 2 song called from Monte M.
Is your first choice always the best choice?
Jacky is the best
what's the song called from Monte shredding
I think you mean Guillotine II, This War Is Ours
I give one (like) for the Money ! :P
anyone know this song 3:49 ?
Why isnt There's no sympathy for the dead solo in here? :'(
What's the second song by monte called?
Issues.
I'd say monte is a better riff writer imo but Jacky is more technical of a player but he does over use sweeps like some great players do or just tries to play fast and technical like look what I can do. JACKY VINCENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE HIM
What's the solo at 3:55?
It an old song of theirs from when Ronnie was still in escape the fate. It's called dragging dead bodies in blue bags up really long hills.
no contest Jacky Vincent
JACKIE!!
Jacky any day
Look at the duration of the video
As a guitarist I know.
Jacky's riffs are harder to play.
yeah but who is better?
Jacky ;)

Zombo BOX you say your a guitarist and you know but your just called their solos riffs lol
It's not about who's fasted it's about who makes the notes harmonize with the songs...and I just think monte is better at that
Jacky duh hes so fast and good at it
02:22 what song ?
BIG PATSHARAPOL ' this war is ours ' part II
jacky obviously
jacky :)
i've been playing since i was 12. i can play everything that monte plays. i can't play the shit the jacky plays
7 years later, playing faster doesn't mean it's better
@@kingfc8380 agreed In an interview Jacky does say he loves montes guitar playing
Despite being objectively the faster more skilled player
song list please( and in my opinion the two be a amazing guitarrist)

Both of them
idk if you know how hard it is to think of a solo with sweeps but its pretty creative
JACKY 😍😍😘😘😘😘
Both are great

Jacky the awesome Vincent. No freaking doubt about it.
guitar talks when monty plays
Jacky and it's not close at all!! Dude is incredible.
So what you are saying is that Monte doesn't stand behind his band?
I think they are both about equally amazing, but I agree that I think that its hard to compare them bc they each play different styles like Monte plays a diffrerent kind of post hard core that adds rock, pop punk, and metalcore styles and Jacky is more post hard core.
Jacky.
Jacky vincent all the way. He was put in a video for one of the 10 ten greatest modern shredders.
JACKY 4 EVER
YOU ARE MY FAVOURITE GUITAR PLAYER
these are 2 of my favorite guitarist jacky is much older than monte..... montes skills for his age and determnation is insane
Jacky Vincent FTW!!!!!
They're both great guitarist's but I prefer Jacky over Monte
Monte, no doubt, have you heard his guitar solo in We Won't Back Down and in This War is Ours?
