  • In this video, I'm going to talk about how you can apply to a University in Germany, get accepted and successfully study in Germany. The admission process and requirements are oftentimes not so clear for international students, but I hope this detailed video changes that.
    xoxo,

    Thank you so much ma'am for this video. I learnt a lot. I'm at the enrollment stage in my application but I seem completely lost right now. After going through this video, I believe the most important thing for me now should be booking my visa appointment. My program begins in October. I am hoping a state government's letter of introduction would help hasten my call up to the embassy. Also, I believe getting my student health insurance is very important. I stumbled on your page while on UA-cam searching for a clue on how to go about this. You also spoke briefly about the possibility of a sponsorship letter from a friend or family who resides in Germany but didn't dwell much on the subject. Clearly, I do need your help on quite a number of things ma'am. I would be eternally grateful if you could help me navigate my enrollment and visa application process, even at a fair fee. Grateful for your anticipated prompt response in this regard ma'am. Thank you.

      Hi Oluwapelumi, unfortunately I don’t offer services like that cause I am not an expert,
      1. I can tell you though that if you are enrolling for a programme starting in October you should have already applied for your study visa as processing takes a year(minimum) the process might be expedited if you have your blocked account ready you can send an email with evidence of the full blocked account amount and the confirmation of your visa application to the embassy, a letter from the state govt. office might not be much help at the German embassy especially for a study visa.
      2. You need health insurance to enrol for studies in Germany as that is a part of the documents requested at enrolment however please inform your insurance company that you are not yet in Germany via email.

      Hello, ideally yes you do…start with your transcripts, certificates and the English proficiency test as they are the hardest to get especially if you are applying from Nigeria.
      For the visa application the processing time for category B is 1.5 years(if you are in this bracket, it’s best to apply as soon as you start your application to universities), if you have a first class or scholarship it’s less than a month(if you are in this category wait till you have your blocked account sorted and have a few months before resumption)
      Hope this helps! Sorry for the late response.

    Plz come to my rescue. i need help, please. So I'm stuck on the uniassist application portal. Please, i have some questions. First off, when submitting my documents on the uniassist platform, are scanned copy enough? And do i need to go to the Ministry of Education to do any form of verification?
    Cos i saw a place where they said it would be authenticated.
    Secondly, can i get the english proficiency letter from my school in place of IELTS?
    Thirdly, did you apply via uniassist?
    Fourthly, what common mistakes can i avoid using uniassist?

    • @simply_jennie
      @simply_jennie  3 місяці тому

      Hello David👋
      1. Yes, scanned copies(coloured) will work if the documents are stamped by the issuing authorities(your university,WAEC etc), if not stamped, you need to get them notarised but a public notary( a notary lawyer). In some cases the universities will explicitly ask that your documents be sent via post to uni-assist in this instance you ideally should ask your school to send it directly to the address provided(in the case of a transcript) you do not need to notarised this document because it can be checked directly with your university
      2. What documents are you referring to?
      3. It depends, it is better you use the examination body requested by your university which is usually IELTs or TOEFL iBT tests so you don’t run into issues later during verification (this tests can be easily verified by your university or uniassist)
      4. Yes, I have made both partial and full applications via uni assist
      5. I would say just take care with your document categorisation, naming and scanning so that way they are quickly approved. Ensure you read the universities requirements properly and submit the right documents.
      Hope this helps, let me know if you run into any other issues I’ll try my best to help out!

    Hey am African planning to apply for masters at a public university.which city is affordable for students interms of accommodation etc?

    • @simply_jennie
      @simply_jennie  3 місяці тому

      Hello, I think you should think in terms of opportunities. Major cities like Berlin, Munich, Hamburg etc are quite expensive and accommodation is also hard to find but the opportunities especially if you don’t understand German is a lot more.
      Smaller german towns that are farther from this major cities might be cheaper to live in but again the opportunities for non german speakers are also limited, plus you might not get as much with amenities like comfortable transport or even social environments etc.
      The best solution is to look out for universities that are in towns closer to big cities(1 hr away) eg Ingolstadt is an hour from Munich….I hope this helps

    • @simply_jennie
      @simply_jennie  29 днів тому +1

      Hi, the VPD means Vorprüfungsdokumentation which translates to preliminary review documentation.
      It basically means that uni assist checks your transcripts and converts it to the German grading system (1-5 points_1 means excellent and 5 means very poor) and informs you based on the universities requirements whether or not you qualify…
      This way the German universities spends less time converting and checking it

      Hello🤗, like I said in the video you can find them on www.mastersportal.com
      Germany has a lot of opportunities for skilled and unskilled workers, the amount of opportunities open to individuals is largely determined by ability to speak the German language, area of expertise and skills.
      Most tech roles especially in international companies with branches in Germany employ people who are native English speakers but usually advancement in career is also dependant of your communication ability

      @@simply_jennieAs a German employer I would phrase the need for the language more like this: If you can not talk to my local customers your chances for a good job are a lot worse than for other immigrants that put a lot of effort into learning the local language

    • @simply_jennie
      @simply_jennie  3 місяці тому

      @@wora1111 Yes, I quite agree with you on this point particularly if the company serves German customers predominantly then learning the local language is a great way to integrate with the local culture and understand the people even better, not just for better professional relations but personal relationships too.
      On the other hand, I do think that companies who are more opened to people who do not speak the German language but have the willingness to learn can benefit from diverse talents, perspectives and experiences.
      As someone who cannot speak the language fluently I will forever be grateful to employers who have given me opportunities to gain working experience and learn the language while doing it😊

      @@simply_jennie You misunderstood me. I do not expect fluency, but I want to see that an applicant is willing to put In the necessary effort to learn the language of the country she/he decided to live in. Contracts, leases, announcements always will be in the local language. Language for me also includes the local culture and many of your German viewers will have noticed that you filmed "German style", showing hardly any faces, greeting coworkers in German, studying with German PowerPoint etc. Most of the viewers you addressed probably won't notice that, that is why I decided to comment.

    Hi can you please tell me how to apply to th ingolstadt and what are the factors that help me get accepted

    • @simply_jennie
      @simply_jennie  3 місяці тому

      Hello, if you are applying for a masters program you need to apply via uniassist (you need to apply a month before application officially opens on the 2nd of may) for a VPD by sending your transcript from your bachelor’s programme

    • @simply_jennie
      @simply_jennie  3 місяці тому

      If you are applying to an English program you need your IELTs(English proficiency) >6.0 I believe…if you are applying to a masters program in German you need to take a proof of German proficiency test up to B2 language proficiency at least

    • @simply_jennie
      @simply_jennie  3 місяці тому

      @@ABERKANEMONTASSIR Your grade is very important because the number of students accepted is limited to less than 30 per semester
      Your experience does not matter as much in a lot of degree programmes, the goal of the CV is basically just to have an overview of your in-school and extracurricular activities including work experience and internships…regardless put in your best effort when you prepare it.
      Yes! there are student ‘help/lager’ jobs in Ingolstadt but with regard to ease of getting one, I do not know cause I never applied to any.
      Getting a work-student role at a standard office is not the easiest and a lot of time you need experience and knowledge of the German language.
      Hope this helps, good luck!
