Oh well I’m going 300 feet this spring with permits engineer and army core engineer and I need light for planes and helicopters I have none that fly over i have to install a backup generator. If it falls it fall on my property on the farm won’t effect none of my neighbors. Well I guess I be 240 feet higher then what you say. It going to cost me a pretty penny out pocket. Inspection will cost me out pocket every year 2 but still cost less than CATV a year. I have my HDTV and look forward towards more then 40 channels. Thinking about repeater and ham radio. Antenna 2 . Hell maybe the telephone company may want to rent space on the tower .There a shell of a building at base of tower.and a 200 amp service for expansion.

I was just hearing about a guy who makes a decent living changing the light bulb on a tower twice a year.

YOU’RE WRONG HONEY!!! 200 feet it the maximum height without a special permit AND you can communicate around the globe.

You can typically go up to 200ft, before needing to apply with the FCC and FAA. However, if you're near that height, you have plenty of money, so your lawyer can deal with the paperwork. It's exponentially more costly, the higher you go, at least with self supporting type towers. You can go higher for cheaper with a guyed tower, but then you need room. Also, which (and how many) antennas and feeflines, will need to be considered for wind loading.
