I've listened to the Monti Csardas played by numerous top-notched violinists around the world, but this version of this classical music masterpiece played by Clara Cernat is the best rendition that is unrivaled, unmatched & so incomparable without a doubt for her impassioned emotion, right tempo & complete precision. Without qualms, this is the ultimate masterpiece beyond all other masterpieces. Lastly, it goes without saying she nailed every single note w/ the unyielding passion & the vibrant enthusiasm. When the music is just supposed to provide a welcome relief in the background while attending to the accounts at work, and tears inexplicably and unstoppably roll down one's cheeks when the haunting strains of the violin sears through ably backed and complemented by the piano, then these performers must have delivered what the composer intended; all of it.
Bewitching is the word and Cernat and Huillet have done everything and everyone justice. Brilliant.

As a violinist, there are so many other violinists I know that can play Czardas, but none of them have that wow factor, this is the best Czardas performance I know.

I am now 84.. I learned most classics when I was 10 - 14 yrs old. I wanted to play piano. My mother took me to the Peruvian Conservatory.. But we had no money for lessons or piano. Today I enjoy the maestros and current players.

My 3 favorites performances of Csardas: first is this expressive one by Ms. Clara Cernat, second is the one where Maxim Vengerov dueled with the contrabassist Roman Patkoló, third is the transcription for piano performed by the pianist Tzvi Erez. There are also versions out there of the Western violin dueling with Chinese erhu. Thank you, Ms. Cernat, for bringing such beautiful music to us. This timeless performance of Vittorio Monti's Csardas brought me to tears, you brought the violin so close to the expressiveness of the human voice that for a few moments in time I actually forgot it was a violin and thought it was a dreamy female human voice singing. You played from heart and soul and made it flow so naturally and effortlessly. I had already shared this UA-cam video with many friends.
