What makes MJR unique is how the guests present their games. The special guest sessions are some of my favorite moments of the show. Also the road trip with barnacles was fun to watch. Congrats on 200k subs! heres to many many more!
Every time I watch your channel, MetalJesus, I feel compelled to move to Seattle. It seems like such a cool place for collecting games and networking. I'm a musician and a gamer, so it seems like a Mecca for these things.
"Passionate people focus more on the pursuit or practice of their passion than the outcome they want to achieve" In Reggie's case, he is passionate about games and game collecting
\m/ It was nice reminiscing through this video on the time we started to meet! It's been awesome getting to know you over the past couple of years, you are teh best MJR!
CircuitsandCoffee i played in a metal band in 2007-2011. U can find us on youtube as "force of reason" or hear my later band om myspace as "knight of your demise"
I have to necro-comment on this video. When MJ said *I only had 2000 subscribers, I was nothing* I started hearing Pink Floyd's One Slip playing in my head.
Awesome! Sierra was THE company back in the 90's..had most of their products,,,ALL of the Quest series..Police quest, Space Quest, Hero Quest, Kings quest...etc...can NEVER say enough how important networking is...GOOD ON YA!!...Really enjoy this channel and your comments....
Hey MetalJesus! I just wanted to say thanks for some indirect inspiration from you. Back in January 2012 I bought a SEGA Saturn, and four games for it. Soon after I was disheartened because I couldn't think of anything to add to my collection that I liked. So for years I had a Saturn and four games and didn't do much with them. Then this year, I discovered your videos about the Saturn and discovered that there were some really great games on it after all. So it inspired me to start looking for some games for it. And now I have about 10 games now and still adding to the collection. And speaking of collecting, I found a really nice hidden gem on the Saturn you might take a look at. I didn't see it in any of the videos of yours I watched, so I don't know if you know of it. It's called Solar Eclipse in the US, and Titan Wars everywhere else. It's a cool, realistic sci-fi on-rails shooter. I got my copy on Amazon for like, $15. :)
always known about you metaljesus, but never really watched any of your videos until this past month, as I've been spending most of my time after finals on UA-cam. I lover your videos, you and your guests on your collecting videos are such a blast to watch!
Interesting ways you have met people. I met Reggie once at a retro game shop in Tacoma. A few months later I found out he goes to the same community college as I do!
The 90's were the best time to be in the video game industry. So much technology being developed during that decade that I doubt the industry will ever have an era similar to the 90's.
I love it when your able to have guests on your videos so we can see the broad spectrum of gamers(retro and modern) and I have a soft spot for Kinsey and Reggie, you can tell they love doing the videos with you and are always having fun at the same time.
I met every single one of you guys at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo and got pictures. Every one of you guys and gals are amazing and badass and I will always support all of you on this amazing channel.
You have a lot of great guests on your show I love watching your channel with Reggie, Drunken Master Paul, John Hancock, Anna Kinsey, and Kelsey who was not mentioned. This must have been before you met her. Keep up the great work!
Great video and thanks for sharing the backstory of all the people you feature on your channel. The story of how you met Reggie and Kinsey was especially interesting!
MJR you really have relit the fire I have for games and throwback tech, thank you for all you do. Maybe we’ll bet a chance to meet in the future I am on the east side of Washington.
+MetalJesusRocks Thats so cool. i got like your whole crew :) including pat the nes punk, alpha omega sin and the immortal john hancock :) such a fun event and you all were as friendly as you seem on your channel..... which is a relief 😎 keep up the kick butt videos
MJ, the first time I came across your channel was so odd, you know, a rocker talking about video games?... I had this bias for the long hair, the intro music, the red skull... the whole "satanic" thing. Then I realized how educated you are in video games culture and your willingness to continue learning and trying new things on this field, sharing with the world at the same time this knowledge, and specially, being able to deliver great content in a simple-formidable way, being also very respectful with your guests (that's very very cool). Even if this video is not about video games per se, is very interesting for me, and it shows how much you care also for your friends. You Rock Man.
Good vid. I remember you mentioning you and Paul worked at Sierra was awesome to find how you met the others. Got to like Reggie always cool to see him on.
I love how you're an Opeth Fan MetalJesus! Opeth is my favorite band ever. A close second is Katatonia. Great Channel, Love your videos, Especially your Hidden Gems Videos.
Thank you for being so intelligent, professional, and informative with your flicks! I took your good advice on checking out great games like Deus Ex, the wolf among us, dead space, and many more. You have helped me steer towards better games. Your videos are truly raining with passion, helping others, and are just downright fun to watch! I live in Dayton, and we don't have many good stores truthfully, with better sought after games. So, you help me save time and money, though I do give every game a chance. I also love vinyl. Your passion shines, and I can tell you like to help people. I worked in a Digistar planetarium for many years, and we used a Microvax 2 as a hard drive. Maybe one day you can check out all our old school computer gear we used, if you are in the Midwest. I would love to give you a tour. Again, thanks for all your hard work and passion in the gaming community.
Reggie should make his own channel. I really dig him and he has improved IMMENSELY with regards to being natural in front of a camera. Seems like such a good guy.
Been a long time casual viewer of your videos, but just now hearing you worked for Sierra online in the 90's convinced me to sub. :P That was when I was a teen and fell in love with pc gaming. (Got my first PC, running just DOS. No fancy windows software yet, seeing where technology has gone really gets me frustrated that I'm so poor, so many toys now and I seem to only be able to afford 10 year old tech) Anyway, when I was young money wasn't such an issue and sierra online was one of my favorite publishers. So, yeah, you got a new sub here!
I am happy with one just jumped on UA-cam. Been a fan of metal Jesus for years now. Secondly love that shirt! my favorite gal wasn’t on the list but this is a older video and lastly idk who a good few of these are. Life changes and so do some freinds
I really love the large nerd/gamer community in the PNW. I moved away to college for a couple years and I completely missed that. I'm not sure if you've had the same experiences but everyone I've met around here in the community is so accepting and nice. personally, I couldn't be more proud or happy to be a part of it. I love games and collecting them. However, the social aspect of it for me is also a lot of fun.
Metal Jesus, I love your UA-cam channel! I've watched almost all your videos and I love how passionate you are about your hobby. Thanks for making these videos! \m/
There was an older woman who used to frequent metal shows in the Midwest in the nineties named 'Metal Mom' that would put up the touring bands as well.
I have been a follower for a while and now I have the capability to comment and just want to say great videos and hope you continue to make great videos and keep up the fine work good sir
No wonder I love this channel so much. Did you Sierra guys happen to work on tribes? I would love to hear all of you guys do a Sierra reminiscing episode, about the history of the company and the games.
+P20107M he is my favorite guest for sure. Very chill and seems friendly. Seems like someone I'd hang out with. He also takes the time to respond to comments on videos he is in.
I've met a few friends through game stores. I'm a frequent to this one retro store in my area and I've grown to know some of the employees there. Ah, good times.
I really like Reggie and Kinsey and all your guests, they are all special in their own unique ways. It was cool to see Kelsey the Pink Gorilla girl/lady on the show for the first time, though I admit that I only knew her by face until you had her on the show. I knew immediately why you invited her on your show, she is a walking Retro Gaming encyclopedia and super cool in a kid sister type of way. I can remember two distinct instances where she helped me out big time while I was shopping at their UW location. The first time about 8-9 years ago, she tested a bunch of SNES RPG's I had just picked up. The other instance was a few years ago after I dug out a Master System my uncle had given me years ago. I knew almost nothing about the games library for the master system and in contrast she knew almost everything about it. I picked up a few titles which she recommended because I trusted her "know's" and they ended up being right on the money.
I been watching the channel for about four months and I pretty much got everyone's face down, but hearing this I was like wow, he and all the cast of MJR are great people sound like good friends, living in Nebraska really don't have that at all here
This is why Sierra was so great, they really know how to manage their staff. If a game is bad, it's nearly always due to pressures and other issues in the workplace.
I really enjoy watching your videos they help a lot when i am figuring out what to pick up next and are really entertaining everyone on your show are really cool and I have learned something new from each one thank you all for sharing and I look forward to more videos
Reggie would has to be my favorite guest on the show. +MetalJesusRocks and Reggie compliment each other so well.
Great video Jason!
U need gas money reggie
What makes MJR unique is how the guests present their games. The special guest sessions are some of my favorite moments of the show. Also the road trip with barnacles was fun to watch. Congrats on 200k subs! heres to many many more!
Just based on MJR's videos, I must say there are definitely some really cool people in the Seattle area.
Every time I watch your channel, MetalJesus, I feel compelled to move to Seattle. It seems like such a cool place for collecting games and networking. I'm a musician and a gamer, so it seems like a Mecca for these things.
Those bonds and friendships is what makes it all worthwhile!
"Reggie is very passionate"... are we still talking about games?
+Eric Millington HAHAHAHAHAHA NO. We talk about love.
+Eric Millington the world may never know!
+Eric Millington Of course, the game of love :D
Eric Millington "such an amazing presence, just a really cool guy"
"Passionate people focus more on the pursuit or practice of their passion than the outcome they want to achieve"
In Reggie's case, he is passionate about games and game collecting
"2000 subscribers" "I was nothing"
That was a bit harsh lol.
Love you Metal Jesus! I hope to shake your hand one day :)
I give this video bonus kudos for the Outrun 2 running in the background - one of my favourite games ever!
\m/ It was nice reminiscing through this video on the time we started to meet! It's been awesome getting to know you over the past couple of years, you are teh best MJR!
+CircuitsandCoffee And you as well Anna. We need to do some more videos soon!
Yesssssss. We should do the one. With the games. And the stuff. :)
hey, do some videos with Anna! just a reminder lol
I said before and I say it again: Your t-shirts are freaking awesome.
Me too! Where can I get one?
I agree. He should do one like that but it’s a band like cannibal corpse or one of those big death metal bands lol
Sierra games where a big part of my childhood. From Kings Quest 1 to TSN. Thanks for your work on them!
What about Kelsey?
i think he means why didnt he mention her
tea I don't think he knew her 11 months ago
His wife is sick of hearing about her.
PsyQo Tea i think they met like 10 months ago
probably went into her game store one time and started talking
Awesome! Sierra was THE company back in the 90's..had most of their products,,,ALL of the Quest series..Police quest, Space Quest, Hero Quest, Kings quest...etc...can NEVER say enough how important networking is...GOOD ON YA!!...Really enjoy this channel and your comments....
Out of all the gaming crews here in youtube, yours is my favorite. You guys seem to be very humble and approachable.
So close to 200,000. Just noticed that! Congrats Metal Jesus!
codizzle00 - just rewatched this video and he's almost to 500,000 !!!
Hey MetalJesus! I just wanted to say thanks for some indirect inspiration from you. Back in January 2012 I bought a SEGA Saturn, and four games for it. +Gilded-Silverfox The Saturn is such an awesome system, I'm glad you stuck with it and are starting to find games that you want to play!!!
+CircuitsandCoffee Woo! I got Anna to respond to me! You seemed so passionate about the Saturn, it really helped with inspiring me too. X3 Thank you.
always known about you metaljesus, but never really watched any of your videos until this past month, as I've been spending most of my time after finals on UA-cam. I lover your videos, you and your guests on your collecting videos are such a blast to watch!
Interesting ways you have met people. I met Reggie once at a retro game shop in Tacoma. A few months later I found out he goes to the same community college as I do!
Hey MJR, can I just point out, that you probably have enough UA-cam channel usuals now to make a nifty "Last supper" picture! It would be pretty cool
For all those wondering I'm pretty sure MetalJesus didn't know Kelsey at the time of this video.
I feel lucky that I've found this channel a year ago and still watching your videos...
You're awesome!
Reggie is the man. Need more of that dude in my UA-cam life.
You've got some great friends. My faves are Paul, John & Reggie. Great personalities.
i love the jesus-reggie bromance :) you two get so passionate about videogames and you hype each other up so much. I love it :D
Love how you guys got to know each other and promote gaming in a positive way! Stay on the path MJS!
Beautiful channel with great fun casual passionate people, Keep going METAL JESUS!!!!
The 90's were the best time to be in the video game industry. So much technology being developed during that decade that I doubt the industry will ever have an era similar to the 90's.
That's one of the things I love about this channel. Very genuine, nice to see the friendship, great content and of course, video games!!
I already liked that Anna girl, but you telling us she's a badass Deathmetal drummer damn, that's cool. I wish I could meet her somehow.
I love it when your able to have guests on your videos so we can see the broad spectrum of gamers(retro and modern) and I have a soft spot for Kinsey and Reggie, you can tell they love doing the videos with you and are always having fun at the same time.

Love your channel!!! Cheers from Miami Florida !
MJR you really have relit the fire I have for games and throwback tech, thank you for all you do. Maybe we’ll bet a chance to meet in the future I am on the east side of Washington.

Very cool to hear the back stories. Love the channel, keep it up!
Great video! Wish I had hardcore retro gaming friends round my area
Metal Jesus, you definitely gotta come to Bernard's and have a drink while I play video game music on guitar!
Awesome shirt btw!
You're almost at 200K!!! Congrats!
Reggie man, when he gets to talking about games he really becomes this little kid in a toy store. He really loves games and you can tell.
Been a long time casual viewer of your videos, but just now hearing you worked for Sierra online in the 90's convinced me to sub. :P That was when I was a teen and fell in love with pc gaming. Metal Jesus, I love your UA-cam channel! I've watched almost all your videos and I love how passionate you are about your hobby. Thanks for making these videos! \m/
Which is why I love all your videos!!!!!
Great video! Love that you have Outrun running, one of my favorite games!
Thanks for the info about your life. Love the channel keep up the great work.
I luv Metal Jesus beard, it looks like he just painted it on his face LOL
mjr is rocking this beard style for 7 years now, I am happy to be a 10+ years subsriber of this channel
Your next special guest should be Metal Mom.lol ;D
+TheRoyTeal96 is she still around? I remember seeing her at some shows in Cleveland in the 90's.
Um...idk.lol I'm talking about Metal Jesus's mom. Not whoever you're talking about.X)
There was an older woman who used to frequent metal shows in the Midwest in the nineties named 'Metal Mom' that would put up the touring bands as well.
Huh. Cool. Didn't know that.lol
Met some good fellas at arcades and gaming rental stores! Some friends still in contact! (Early 90')
The irony of that tee shirt... lmao!
Really fun video, Cool to know how you meet everybody :)
I have been a follower for a while and now I have the capability to comment and just want to say great videos and hope you continue to make great videos and keep up the fine work good sir
No wonder I love this channel so much. Did you Sierra guys happen to work on tribes? I would love to hear all of you guys do a Sierra reminiscing episode, about the history of the company and the games.
reggie seams like real cool guy.
Has he a UA-cam Chanel. ?
Radical Reggie
+FireMrshlBill Thanks, i didn´t knew Reggie had a channel. All of Metal Jesus' friends are awesome, but Reggie seems like such an awesome dude.
+P20107M he is my favorite guest for sure. Very chill and seems friendly. Seems like someone I'd hang out with. He also takes the time to respond to comments on videos he is in.
yeah if i would meet him i buy him a beer. Hope one day to meet reggie and jesus
+P20107M Yeah i like him a lot.He's a very cool guy
I've met a few friends through game stores. I'm a frequent to this one retro store in my area and I've grown to know some of the employees there. Ah, good times.
They all seems very nice people with lots of good qualities as a human beings! Great values!
Groovy friends!
200000 subs buddy congrats!!!!!!!!!
+daledale1010 Thanks very much!
This video hits home with me. Good stuff
I hope JB and his wife are ok. He told me he was going to post an update but that was weeks ago. I pray for her and them.
Kinsey is so freakin adorable!!!
Agreed.
+Chuck Alexander Not only that, she seems like she would be fun to hang out with - which, imo, is very rare these days.
+Ninebears as her bestie I can attest to her awesomeness
+Ninebears hahah why is that rare? Because no women want to be your friend? Lol dude you sound sad
Yea if you like fat chicks that get drunk and break your shit, then you have to blame the manufacturer
I been watching the channel for about four months and I pretty much got everyone's face down, but hearing this I was like wow, he and all the cast of MJR are great people sound like good friends, living in Nebraska really don't have that at all here
you and reggie cure my depression sometimes
I like all your guests man!
