My wife and I lived 58 years in Minnesota before moving this year to Greenville SC, land of the Clemson Tigers. We went to our first game yesterday and was totally impressed by Clemson’s coaching and play calling. They had so many creative plays and defensive stunts. We then returned home to watch our beloved Gophers and saw that they couldn’t make any adjustments and I said to my wife, they are in big trouble. It’s one thing to play a ranked team and lose, but Iowa isn’t even ranked. When Fleck shared that each week you have to play another Big Ten team, that translates, we just can’t compete. It’s true. You can’t just win one quarter and think you’re in the same division. As a gopher fan, this has been a long haul. We are rowing the boat with mini paddles. Give Fleck credit. He still believes the Titanic will float.
I almost moved to Greenville a few years ago. Hope it's going well down there!
Same old, same old…..coach says “it’s on me” and nothing ever changes. It is like Ground Hog Day. 😢
Disheartening. Will always be a Gophers fan, but 2019 raised expectations, and they've fallen short since. Might be time to... Take a little break and maybe divert my sports-fan dollars to the hockey team. We'll see. Go Gophers...
After a couple days, I still love this team, school, and state. This is still my football team, and always will be, win or lose. I've sat through 28-7 4th qtr collapse against Michigan... 55-0 Iowa beat down (with drunken Iowa "fans" throwing beers at me in the Metrodome for cheering on my team...) But I've also enjoyed unexpected wins against PSU, UW, MICH, etc. It sucks to lose, but... It's really just live entertainment. I hope they use this loss as motivation for the rest of the year. Go Gophers.
That second half got out of hand so quick! Ten minutes of game time felt like it was over without a chance to catch up.

Been a PJ defender for years but you’ve lost me now. Thanks for all you did PJ but we need to move on sooner than later in the new Big Ten. With the losses to both UNC and Iowa this season is over before it even started.

Tough loss. Really impressed with the Gophers in the first half but their running back, Johnson was the difference in the game.
This is why Minnesota sucks. Even the fans have created a losing culture. I think Minnesota won’t stay in the big ten. Just not good enough

It's one thing to lose to a pretty good team (most likely not a great team, but time will tell), but to get completely trucked on your home field is something completely different altogether. They couldn't get the job done the previous 3 years when the B10 West was a complete mess. So what makes anyone think, if they're intellectually honest with themselves, believe that things are going to get better when the competition steps up based on the Pac 12 teams moving in? I'll be mildly surprised if they win 2 conference games this year and absolutely shocked if they win 3 or more games in conference. Oh, and one final point. Often times following a win, "it's the culture". Notice after a loss, especially an embarrassing one, it's never about the culture? Funny how that works.
Time for PJ to get a new canon and paddles and go muck up another lake. His time in Minnesota should be over

The season is over. We had to win one of those two losses. Now that we’ve lost to both UNC and Iowa we won’t have a shot. We will be extremely lucky to get to 6 wins. Fleck failed us.
