    One thing you messed up: Once the system is running, you pinch the high side, then bleed the 290 from the high side hoses back into the low. Partly so you don't get that release of 290 from the high side on disconnect, more importantly: especially on these small systems that only use a couple of ounces of 290- the 290 in that red hose, is part of the weighed charge, and due to it's pressure is often a liquid/ gas mixture, so as much as HALF the charge may be in that hose. It's a big part of the reason that we need really short hoses on these units. Once charged, try you hardest to not lose ANY 290. Your detector screamed at the cloud of it that you released.

    i recommend that we just come up with another type of connector like we have for the 134-A in automotive connections. this will eliminate the pinch off steps and will allow for future work.

      Jason I totally agree I've learned what the pinch off so use soap bubbles after you pinch it down I really helps a lot considering they want you to use pinch off all the time

      If the warranty is close to up you may aswell keep the access fittings on and just use a lil nylog on the caps. The whole pinch off part is super stupid and a waste of time if there is a future issue, which there will be eventually.

    any time you work at a restaurant next to all grills and fryers need to turn pilots off stoves and what if they do not reignite

    Actually super easy and faster to do your job no more recovering the refrigerant and as long as you make sure the systems clear by blowing enough nitrogen through it it's safe

    Seems there is a lot of issues with so young of systems?

    THAT IS A HUGE SET OF HOSES FOR R-290. YOU CAN HOLD THE WHOLE CHARGE IN THOSE THREE HOSES. Each of those hoses can hold 2 oz of refrigerant. That system charge is only 5.5 OZ. I doubt you have it weighed in correctly, prob overcharged. Check with tech support, on every unit Model you open as operating pressures can be different with each.
    Pick up a set of the small 1/8" plastic hoses, they are only a foot long also.
    Pinch off closer to end of process tube. make sure you have a good pinch off or the leak will make a pin hole in braze joint every time. That is what happened to BRAZE joint you did two or three times. I would be concerned with that process tube leaking if u bend it at pinch off now.

    I’ll keep using 404A, this refrigerant is good, but dangerous, manufacture takes no responsibility, if a major defect, occurred, and total charge is dumped, and a fire happens

    • @cherrycreekrefigration
      @cherrycreekrefigration  5 років тому

      Hopefully you're not putting 404 in a 290 system that would be against the law

      Cherry Creek Refrigeration , nah bro, never ran into a system, that uses that type of refrigerant, my personal opinion is it’s dumb, tree huggers like it, but it’s dangerous, they want to use CO2, for Resi air conditioners, running at insane pressures, I’m thinking more about us techs, and the homeowner/or business owner.

    What my low and hi side psi should be after charging?

    • @cherrycreekrefigration
      @cherrycreekrefigration  3 роки тому

      Anywhere from 11 to 40 high side anywhere from 150 to 175. But it's real important that you weigh in your charge

    Can we recover this R290 refrigerant

    • @cherrycreekrefigration
      @cherrycreekrefigration  5 років тому

      No you cannot recover r290 it is legal in the United States to let it go without recovery. Just make sure when you let it go you only let little bit out of time. Also run a gas leak detector. Not a refrigerant leak gas detector but natural gas detector when it starts beeping don't let anymore r290 out when it stops beeping you can proceed . It requires a special license not your Refrigeration license if you have one

      You CAN recover R-290 but NOT with traditional recovery tools.
      TRUE MFG has a "filter" kit that absorbs the R-290 charge for places where you cannot vent r-290. (hospital/doctors office/chemical rooms or evidence locker rooms etc) I was in NYS crime lab this week and was instructed I could NOT vent in locker room. (evidence freezer)
      TRUE'S RECOVERY VID---->>>> ua-cam.com/video/4KGGCrEy9Lw/v-deo.html
      You can "short charge" the unit if you dont vent high side hoses after pinching off high side. Then pinch off low side.

      @@frostygt3628 you can make your own also. Using the GE water filter from home depot they have the same capacity. So all you need to do is buy the cartuges from true.
