forcing people to do things generally is not good, autonomy is important. but demanding they address you in a certain way if you are their guardian is not unreasonable. the same way a teacher has the right to send you out of the class if you call them by their first name. It's a way of teaching authority and respect, which is one of the most important things for a kid to learn in life so they dont grow into a spoiled brat. These two are extremely toxic together, but he definitely started it all. I'm a firm believer that people can make you do things you would never do until you're with the wrong person. When I was younger, my first BF was a psycho who was insanely jealous, controlling, lived to argue! If a cute guy walked into the store, and I hadn't even looked yet, my ex wud start giving me a death stare! I wud start laughing and ask if a good looking guy had just walked into the store? My BF wud blow up at me, accusing me of "already looking" when I hadn't! I only knew by the look on his face. Towards the end, we'd fight & get back together like every other day! I wud act just like him, jealous, not trusting, yelling, etc. I think if I hadn't broken up with him, one of us would end up dead. After him, I NEVER had a toxic relationship like that again! No jealousy, no yelling, nothing. That's when I knew that certain people can turn you into a monster. One might say "That behavior was already in you!" Maybe so maybe no, but what I do know is that all my x-BF's subsequent girlfriends would all act just like me when I was dating him. He had the same issues with every single girl he ever dated, the jealousy, fighting, etc!! Then, his ex GFs would end up having normal non-toxic relationships after him! He was always the problem and I think because a lot of couples end up mimicking each other, his girlfriends at the time would end up acting psycho just like him. I feel that's what's going on here with Paul and his GF! Remember when she was this sweet happy go lucky innocent Brazilian from the Amazon? Now she's doing drugs, HO'ing it up, acting like a psychopath, just like Paul! She needs to get away from him if she wants a normal happy life! I was in a quandary about his Mother’s wanting him to stand on his own two feet. I understood her concerns, but clearly he is not capable of making good decisions. I don’t know if it’s obstinacy or a behavioral disorder. But I felt she should have stepped up, regardless, once there were children. She did help, but he’s never going to be completely stable.

These two are extremely toxic together, but he definitely started it all. I'm a firm believer that people can make you do things you would never do until you're with the wrong person. When I was younger, my first BF was a psycho who was insanely jealous, controlling, lived to argue! If a cute guy walked into the store, and I hadn't even looked yet, my ex wud start giving me a death stare! I wud start laughing and ask if a good looking guy had just walked into the store? My BF wud blow up at me, accusing me of "already looking" when I hadn't! I only knew by the look on his face. Towards the end, we'd fight & get back together like every other day! I wud act just like him, jealous, not trusting, yelling, etc. I think if I hadn't broken up with him, one of us would end up dead. After him, I NEVER had a toxic relationship like that again! No jealousy, no yelling, nothing. That's when I knew that certain people can turn you into a monster. One might say "That behavior was already in you!" Maybe so maybe no, but what I do know is that all my x-BF's subsequent girlfriends would all act just like me when I was dating him. He had the same issues with every single girl he ever dated, the jealousy, fighting, etc!! Then, his ex GFs would end up having normal non-toxic relationships after him! He was always the problem and I think because a lot of couples end up mimicking each other, his girlfriends at the time would end up acting psycho just like him. I feel that's what's going on here with Paul and his GF! Remember when she was this sweet happy go lucky innocent Brazilian from the Amazon? Now she's doing drugs, HO'ing it up, acting like a psychopath, just like Paul! She needs to get away from him if she wants a normal happy life! It's sad because deep down inside, I don't think Paul is a bad guy. He's a big nerd, with a lot of insecurities. He's emotional and because of that, he ended up making bad decisions that got him a criminal record. I don't think his record is extremely bad, compared to other career criminals. He really wants to do well and has a lot of potential, but is a lost soul. I feel bad for the kid!!

When I watch these stories of couples' fates, I finally realized what the Biggest Mistake I had made in my life.
I worked for years, earned money and Saved for my children. For them to have. I thought that in order to start a family and have children, you had to have money to support yourself and your children. And That was my biggest mistake.

They are both so broken and toxic. They need to get serious help individually than trying to date other people or each other. They both created this cycle of abuse towards each other and the kids. If it's true what the cousin is doing, she should not have custody of those kids. Parent alienation is a crime and DCF allegedly supports it.

I was in a quandary about his Mother’s wanting him to stand on his own two feet. I understood her concerns, but clearly he is not capable of making good decisions. I don’t know if it’s obstinacy or a behavioral disorder. But I felt she should have stepped up, regardless, once there were children. She did help, but he’s never going to be completely stable.
