It was still a long battle of attrition and Prayer on all three characters was essential.
My favorite boss fight of 2020. They were able to combine cinematic scenes with actual engaging gameplay that I've always wanted. Other game do one or the other and it's disappointing.
I just noticed that the way Sephiroth fights is as if we’re fighting an advanced player with a special character. He uses spells, takes time to use the powerful ones just like Cloud, has his normal attacks, his parry attack (also like Cloud), has more and more powerful special moves as time goes on, and he even has an attack that we can call his limit break. I know in FF7 we did get to play as Sephiroth once or twice so fighting him here could be a preview of how he’ll play.
I can't tell if she's using baton twirling or some sort of staff based martial art inspired stuff. Some moves look like a dance while some look like a legit martial arts move.

The plot and narrative for the last act of the game was horrible and actually pretty insulting for fans of the FF7 game and to plot cohesion in general. But I liked about the first 80-90% of the game.
Oh! I didn't know this. When I played this battle, the first person who came to my aid was Aerith. Tifa came last with Red 13. EDIT: Tifa's leg went right through Sephiroth at 10:06 is hilarious!

Amazing fight, he's an absolute bastard on hard mode though lol, also did anybody notice that Sephiroths Aero spell is the only one in the game that throws you towards him instead of away or up? lol
What? I was using Aero on Cloud almost the entire game explicitly because it yanked enemies toward him. Especially strong in 1v1 fights like Rufus, Rude, and Reno.

I got to this fight and lost at the beginning. I was confused about the whole retry thing and I accidentally went back to the beginning of the harbinger fight. So now I’m just watching this instead of dealing with that bullshit again.

That beginning shot of sephiroth is godly. Literal Armageddon and the end of the world brings the birth of a god. Then he absorbs ALL of that hell on Earth. 10/10
Then just chucks multiple buildings at you like a basketball. Casually.
Man square outdid themselves with this masterpiece. Just finished the game and the boss fight with sephiroth was easily in my top 3 favorite fights of all time
Kinda took me tries first time but when I faced Sephiroth the second time it was pretty easy
My favorite thing about fighting sephiroth is that he damn near teleports to whoever you switch to immediately like he was reading you the whole time
19:03 Honestly I find this part to be super bad-ass because it just shows how skilled Cloud really is with that huge ass sword and it how he was holding back against most enemies in this game.
i love even more that seph blocks every swing, really establishes how much of a threat he is
Yeah he's not really a brutal murderer type
He'll do it if he's gotta and he won't have a batman complex about, but if he doesn't have to then why bother y'know?
@@ClericOfPholtus I hated how barret pushed cloud earlier when he accidentally scared his daughter but he has no Idea how dangerous cloud can be
@@hidan407 you mean how the brash ecoterrorist aggressively reacted in the presumed defense of their young child?
That's realistic, regardless whether you hate it or not
@@ClericOfPholtus I mean I hated how cloud didnt even bother defending himself and made it seem like barret can push him around
The music, the visuals, the acting and etc all in this fight are next level.
The final battle is going to be a break dancing competition between the two of them
You know why I'm also here now....
Welcome to Smash Sephiroth.
4:55 Me before exam: "Time to get serious!"
*proceeds to fail*
14:12 "Yup, you know whats about to happen" Tbh I just got done battling him and on normal difficulty, he isnt as dangerous as I hoped. But then again sephiorth was just having fun. I cant wait for part 2
Honestly I crapped when I first got to that part, just barely beat him on time which was super exhilarating..and yeh, he's not taking Cloud seriously at this point
If you haven't done it on Hard Mode, give it a try. Its insane if you don't have Gotterdammerung and its pretty tough even if you do.
@@Ultinarok47 please dont laugh at me, but it took me 15 tries to beat him on hard 😅😅😅
@@hidan407 I did it first try, but I did MoL and Top Secrets before starting the main story on hard, then played hard mode from story beginning to end. So by the time I got to Seph, I had every weapon almost fully upgraded, Gotterdammerung and had practice from playing the whole rest of the game on hard. It was still a long battle of attrition and Prayer on all three characters was essential.
@@Ultinarok47 yeah I bounced around with the hard mode story and dome fights so I didnt have everything upgraded so it was a bitch 😅
Who’s here after the smash reveal
Me
On the other hand i cant tell you the last time ive seen such a good sword fight
Oh my lord Sephiroth's theme is so amazing can't stop chanting his name haha
I can’t be the only one that lost it when Sephiroth’s Black Wing showed up
Don't worry kiddo I'm sure there are lots of special needs people on the spectrum just like you.
@Winter Sure weeb whatever you say. Enjoy your time alone in your room with your "waifu" pillow you fucking loser 😂
Tifa over here literally kicking a humongous mass of steel and concrete into pieces likes its nothing.
Not using the Buster Sword for this fight is a sin.
12:44 - *Coolest thing I have ever seen* - 12:46
yeah, Sephiroth is stupid fast
Monke
*teleports behind you*
@@CHBIFI-9000 *chuckles* I'm in danger
@@CHBIFI-9000 *M- MASAKA!!!*
0:27 he's so intimidating in the remake.
Every time he talks i have chills
Aerith damn... this is how I imagined sorcerers fight in a real battle. not just standing around chanting shit. she actually looks like she is dancing
I can't tell if she's using baton twirling or some sort of staff based martial art inspired stuff. Some moves look like a dance while some look like a legit martial arts move.
My fitting end of sephiroth fight was when the fat chocobo stomps on him with its butt, anti climatic!
he died on mine while i was scrolling the menu for curaga.
Love how they said part one meanwhile it’s like an entire game
Well they did design this to be a standalone game.
But it kinda is
Cloud prepare a cross slash,
Sephiroth prepare an octaslash
All while me in back like: man I this is some epic shit on level I haven't seen in awhile
6:28 will always be my favorite moment in the game. The moment the true one winged angel starts playing. Soooo much hype
I seriously can’t stop watching tifas badass entrance
Sephiroth: i have the power!!!
Cloud: this is the first chapter, of course ill lose.
Noctis: too bad he cant out warp me XD
21:12 that speed
12:44
Super Smash Bros Anyone? :D
MEEEEE
Me
Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Glad that sakurai put sephiroth in smash, such a great villain
Same reaction as cloud, just absolutely terrified and shocked when he was revealed.
never have i ever enjoyed fighting a boss in a long ass time. I wanted it to never end. Never have i played a single player game so enjoyable and investing. They did an amazing job with this! I dare say this, but i'm putting this as the lord of the rings of video games
The plot and narrative for the last act of the game was horrible and actually pretty insulting for fans of the FF7 game and to plot cohesion in general. But I liked about the first 80-90% of the game.
1:43 So THAT’S where Sora learned to slice buildings in half with his Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts II!
Oh! I didn't know this. When I played this battle, the first person who came to my aid was Aerith. Tifa came last with Red 13.
EDIT: Tifa's leg went right through Sephiroth at 10:06 is hilarious!
In normal mode in this fight my team was Aerith first and second Tifa (and i thought that cannot be change). In Hard mode my party was Tifa and Aerith (So i thought that change cause difficulty)
Sephiroth is so strong that he ignores all of the animation locks in limit breaks and hits you anyway
He doesn't do it all the time but Cloud is the only one I've ever seen Sephiroth 2-hand his sword with.
@@JohnnyWad309 I think he means the only enemy aero spell, for example drake aero spells send you up and away.
Takes me back to highschool, when advent children came out, wishing for the same graphics ingame. just finished the PC version a while ago. All I was thinking was 'holy shit i'm actually playing advent children'
Man, the Sephiroth challenge looks so good.
Anyone who played KH2 did y’all try to jump to attack him once “Heartless Angel” was happening only to realize Cloud has limited jump abilities so you instead start running in a panic prepping elixirs praying he doesn’t target you? 😂
OMG YES! I feel that 😂
Holy crap freaking loved this Boss Battle
I got to this fight and lost at the beginning. I was confused about the whole retry thing and I accidentally went back to the beginning of the harbinger fight.
So now I’m just watching this instead of dealing with that bullshit again.
I know that struggle really hated that harbinger boss fight
And now he came to smash and cut Galeem in half for trying to take what's his; Cloud.
Sephy would never lose if cloud and gang didnt have plot armor
Technically he didn't lose. He could've easily ended Cloud, but he has something planned for later. He needs Cloud alive for whatever is going on at least.
Or because Sephiroth wasn't trying to kill anyone. Did you not see how he gave no shits throughout the whole fight? Lmao
@@TokyoMystify If you fail to stop his countdown, you’ll be ended by his Meteor.
@@GeorgiaAndrea If you let him bring your hp to zero, you die. What's your point? Lol
@@TokyoMystify Me talking about failing to stop Sephiroth's countdown and you talking about bringing your parties hp to zero are two totally different things. The latter was not even my point lol.
I legit screamed when Tifa came flying in out of nowhere to join.
It’s like watching a movie everytime a party member joins
9:51
Cloud: *Epic battle stance*
Sephiroth: *Epic battle stance*
Tifa: *Accidentally sticks her perfect booty in the camera while also upskirting during spin kick*
I love how Sephiroth parry animation looks. It looks like he’s actually parrying cloud sword.
Am I the only one hyped for when the man, the myth, the legendary broski Maximillian Dood to get to this fight.
You're not the only one I'm sure.
He's done with the game
Idk if you’ve already realized or discovered by now, but he’s finished the game and you can watch those vids on his twitch archive! (I did that last week) The original streams are each 6-8 hours long and he chops them up into chapters for UA-cam vids. But seriously look up how twitch and you can see him loving this fight right now!!
Yes, only max's dickriders care about that bald dude
You've been in NG+ this whole time!
Ugh why Nomura
What that mean ?
It's not hard mode tho.. he can still use items
Sephiroth: "I'll never be just a memory."
Cloud: "Cool story bro, I'll try to remember it."
Anyone here after Sephiroth is announced as a DLC Fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
You know you’re the final boss when you descend from heaven
Jesus christ, this game is awesome.
I can see why Superman is so perfect to voiced Sephiroth.
He had a better va before
Holy sh!t.
I know you're not on hard mode, and you did FAAAR better than I did, but I've never seen some of Seph's moves in this before. Also does anyone know the requirements to get different characters to show up in the fight in different orders? I got Aerith and Tifa in my first round, been stuck with Tifa and Barret despite having done all the Affection options the same.
Epic how the music changes at 15:00. I love how you got everybody's eyes to glow more, and your audio capture is glorious on headphones, thanks.
This fight kind of... like, what do they DO after this for the final battle later on? Someone in production's like "Ok, we want FF7 Seph, crossed with Kingdom Hearts Seph and a healthy dose of Advent Children, GO!"
This part made me feel like I was playing Advent Children lol
LETS REMAKE THIS BATTLE ON SMASHHHH BROS
Yeah with mini brawler, swordsman, and gunnee
And another swordsman, but it's not a mii, and another one too
2:10 So we're gonna ignore that Sephiroth's sword clipped a bit into Cloud's?
