The Russians are great when they're the hammer and scoring 6 plus goals a game. When it comes to them back checking, having gritty defense and going to the corners they disappear. When their offense isn't firing on all cylinders teams exploit the glaring lack of defense. It's why they might win some but will never be the consensus number one. Look at the difference with Malkin and Crosby as the perfect example.

Complaining about the schedule when Canada got two home games? (Compared to Russia & Slovakia's 0.) The worst though is BRAGGING about Clarke's disgraceful slash on Kharlamov. Embarrassing. Kharlamov did come back from that slash (and then a car accident later in his career) which proves he had plenty of heart (and skill too!)
