Dimash IS an opera singer---along with being a pop singer, a rock singer, a hip-hop singer, a jazz singer, a rap singer, and virtually every other kind of singer. Dimash knows no limits.
Honestly you could say operatic pop*. You can't really say he's all of those because that's not really how it works ngl. Otherwise, his music would be based around all of that. Sure, he can release music from different genres, but it doesn't mean that's his main one. But he's definitely a versatile vocalist. But I also won't argue against you saying he isn't an opera singer. He goes forcontemporary music

But I do like your suggestion that his music (at least a significant portion of it) could be called "operatic pop." I'm personally okay with referring to songs like "Olimpico" as "popera." Dimash himself refers to his music as "neo=classical."
@gdouglas999 He was offered the position, but if I recall, he didn't accept it. They said his voice would be **suitable** for opera. Although, that doesn't really make him opera. I get what you mean, though. Also, what does neo classical mean?
@gdouglas999 Oh btw, on Spotify, his music is considered Operatic pop which is one reason I said that. But also because his music does sound operatic and he always adds a hint of pop.
@@jonny9597 I actually like "operatic pop" as an excellent description of his overall genre. He does have some purely opera songs and performances though: "Passion," "Brucia la Terra," (with Marat Aytimov), and "O Sole Mio," (with Andrea Bocelli) are three of them.
Notice at the beginning when Dimash is getting ready to sing you hear the heartbeat slowing down before stopping then Dimash sings its like the passing of life to be greeted by the angels. To me this is the closest you will get to heaven without going there. Even though this isn't the Catholic Prayer version it still gets the message across beautifully

Dimash is just great, isn't he? He manages to lift people to heaven with just one vowel. He leaves me speechless every time I hear this song. And I love it when the drums come in. It's so unique. Igor Krutoy (the gentleman at the piano) composed this version of the Ave Maria at Dimash's request. It's not the Ave Maria you may know. Did you know that there are more than 100 versions of the Ave Maria? Now there is one more.
Usually, Ave Maria is a prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary. In this case, however, it is a prayer for all people, no matter what religion they belong to.
Besides that Dimash is a Muslim and Igor Kurtoy, who often accompanies him on the piano, is Jewish. That is why this Ave Maria has no lyrics, since it is not only sung for Christians.
He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury.
Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian-Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He came out of retirement specifically to work with Dimash when he first heard him. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range (no kidding), like Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You'll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It's more of a father-son relationship.
If you want to hear him sing his highest not so far, then check out Unforgettable day Gakku version (Gakku TV is a Kazakh television channel. It's a D8 and you won't find this key on the piano anymore. I heard there were about 150,000 spectators and the city center had to be completely closed). Dimash wrote this song when he was 19 years old and the lyrics were written by Oral Baissengir, of course in Kazakh. A really beautyful song.

Maestro Igor Krutoy shared the story of the creation of the work 'Ave Maria' for Dimash.
When writing a hit, Krutoy is guided by the Italian principle: every composer is worth exactly what his latest work is worth, which means that all previous successes and achievements do not count.
“On one of the nights, about three months before New Wave, Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him and he explained that he wanted to sing something in that style... Coincidentally, I had a spare evening, and I happily sat down at the piano and, inspired by the memory of the Italian formula of responsibility, worked until I achieved the desired result. It took me a few days to 'let' the composition 'lay' in my ears, soul and heart, and sent it to Dimash, who replied literally within half an hour that: ‘This is exactly what I wanted to hear', said Krutoy. Hello. Dimash IS an opera singer. He was invited to join the Astana Opera, wich he refused because in opera you can't add other notes than what is supposed to be. He is clasical trainned and can sing as a baritone, tenor, soprano... but he also sings other genres of music like pop, jazz, rap! His highest note is a D8, wich is outside the piano, and you can listen in the Gakku concert with the song "Unforgetable Day" that he wrote. I belive this is the highest note that a human ever achieved (I don't know any other singers that did that so far). Thank you for your reaction. Greetings from a Portugal DEAR.
Ave Maria means "All Hail Mary" and it is a prayer to Maria the mother of Jesus for the Catholic Church. It is not ONE song: many composers used that prayer as lyrics for their compositions
Most people thought this would be the traditional prayer but this is not the Franz Schubert´s Ave Maria, on Bach/Gounod´s, or Michael Lorenc´s or Ave Maria di Caccini. I know them well because I used to play them when I studied to play the piano.
His singing this being a muslim in a country where there are almost no Christians would be completely misunderstood. Dimash did a new one composed by Igor Krutoy and I guess that it started to take form from that featuring in "Love is like a dream. It has not lyrics, it is magic using only one vowel and impressing on it the feeling of that prayer.
And important to stress that THIS Ave Maria is not a prayer to the mother of Jesus but rather an Ave Maria to unite us all regardless of religion or no religion at all.
For some reason, Mary is considered a purely biblical character. but this is wrong. Muslims have written in the Koran about Mariam (Mary) - the mother of the prophet Isa (Jesus).

If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by composer and conductor Igor Krutoy is a work in vocalize format, completely unpublished, although it seems to be a variation of the initial theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of the melody by Schubert adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore just as three initial notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D#4 C#4 and B4 to G#4, G4, G4, D#5): Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (from dark to light)! It also seems to refer to the Russian V. Vavilov's version of "Ave Maria" (wrongly credited to Caccine) and work by JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, with arrangements by Gounod, which Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection for!

He also sings in about 14 languages, plays every instrument imaginable, is an incredible actor, dancer, and storyteller, as well as being an ambassador for peace.
