by far the best monster hunt quest character is Darius
his cannon mechanic is so unique and it carried me throughout the entire monster hunt runs I had with Darius
it's so fun and well done and requires a lot of strategy and positioning (whether to make your turn a cannon board clear turn or make use of your minions) and all I have to say is well done blizzard
He's utter garbage and we didn't want or need a chess hero in this mode
I one and two shot the bosses soth Tess and Houndmaster Shaw. Darius? 100+ monsters defeated..
basedjafar he's the most fun and best if you play it right.
I would have been cool if they did that again in the dalran heist or saviours of uldum
Was going to casually watch a hearthstone video, was unwillingly sent through nostalgia lane by the intro music. "There's an important quest card waiting for you at the guild."
Extra cannons + bonus cannon dmg + mana reduction on cannon usage carried me through my dungeon run.
its so insane at the last two bosses, i bombed the fuck out of their minions :D

I've only ever seen the battlecry summon a cannon, what else creates cannons?
Gotta be lucky enough to get Brann or a bounce card (Brewmasters). Its also possible to draft a second cannon summoner.
That seems difficult, never even got any of those cards.
I once managed to draft 2 of the cannon summoners alongside Brann. Was stomping tje dungeon but lost to Godfrey on my boss 8 to some real bs rng.
I really liked testing my skills with positioning, it was really satisfying clearing the enemy boards with cannon fire. I somehow managed to get all the way to Godfrey first try and he curb stomped me with his hard counter deck to how I built mine. As always the one card that could have saved me was never drawn.

I 'love' how I get pretty much the same bosses the streamers I watch got, but when I face them they keep getting some insane synergies that wreck me, while against the streamers they keep playing like a dishwasher AI...
yup. Streamers always get better RNG and better packs. keeps us playing in the hope we get the same.

i don't agree because unlike trump here i one shotted every boss day one with tess shaw and darius. Toki took 2 tries because i didn't fully understand what her hero power could do or how her deck was suppose to function.
Hagatha took me 3 attempts.

Right. Azallina never used a mass mind controll versus Tramp. But when I played against her, she steals my minions every time (when there were more than three of them on the board)

You have no idea how close you were dying on that wisp battle, he has a card that will kill each wisp and randomly take one of your minions. Guess he never got lucky to pull that card. he had like 5 0 costing wisps in his hands, he could had mind-controlled your whole board. :P

Best counter to that final boss I've seen is playing bran + the guy tham summons extra cannons, combined with return mechanics and extra cannon damage ability

I've tried to play as Darius 7 times now and this is the first I've heard of a guy who summons extra cannons. I must be the unluckiest guy alive.
badgerbane it's like a 4 mana 4/3 or something treasure. It's pretty good. Crazy value if you get anything else involving Cannons but also good on its own (idk if you would get +2 attack from the treasure Trump got since 2 cannons shot).
believe it is tied to the hero power usage and not shots fired.
My Darius abused Staff of Summoning for the win. 3 Varian Wrynn's, 2 Ysera's, 2 Kel Thuzod's and 1 Lich King was enough to grind any boss into dust.

QuickSilverKitsune I just beat Hagatha, took me 2 tries. Was actually pretty fun. And the others, Tess took me the most cuz i couldnt beat the last boss, like 4-5 runs minimum. Toki 1 run, Shaw like 2, Darius like 4.

But the first time fight against azalina.
The second time it build a deck to counter azalina, but I had to fight against lord godfrey instead.
All my tries with Darius that reached the final were against Godfrey tho

I love the canon synergy and playstile as much as I love the chess boss fight in kharazam, I wish we had these types of cards in the actual game

I love to play Darius with a berserker/inspire deck. I’ve gotten 8/2 lowly squires and ridiculously high attack power frothing berserkers. Nothing better than playing black powder and spamming cannons until you clear their board, then OTKing their face with the ridiculous stats that you just put on your Frothing.

I met him as Tess and just kept bouncing Millhouse and Thermaplugg back into his has with his own Sap.
As Darius Crowley, I got the passive "Your cannons deal 1 extra damage" twice, So I had a 3 damage cannon. And in the final boss, i got the 3 mana minion that summoned another cannon. It was hilarious lmao
Speaking of double treasures, picked 2 vitality potions - got 180 hp at the last boss.
I ONLY get gnomenatcher on shaw....the one deck without board clears.....

the last boss did the 9 mana summon 7 minions thing 3 turns in a row to me... i was so sad... i got through the first 2 waves but there was some big stuff in there

Trump got lucky with Cragtorr. When I faced him, he was able to quickly flood his board with giants and I couldn't do anything about it. It's like when A. F. Kay finally takes action in the Dungeon Run, but much earlier. Trump also didn't encounter the Forlorn Lovers. :\

Does anyone know what Safe Harbor actually does? Do you choose one of a limited selection of cards like Arch Thief Rafaam? I've always wanted a card where you could literally type in a card or zip through a giant drop-down list. It's not random, and extremely strategic.
Like I would love a card that was Neutral Legendary 10-cost 1/1 Battlecry: Add any card of your choosing to your hand and set it's cost to (0). Overload (5). Or something like that.
you target a minion that is on the board. It is a 2-cost mind control that let's you use battlecry of the minion you take.

Darius is super fun! I had double mana reduction cannons and annihilated everything.
16:02 was a misplay because firing your cannon before attacking would make him have 9 attack and then the cannon would deal the 1 needed, leaving you with a 3/4 on board

I got really lucky with my first Darius game. I got 2 tactical reinforcements for both of my passives AND my three choices for my buckets had commander which had inspire cards or cards that reduced the cost of my hero power and/or made me able to use my hero power twice. Pay 1 mana, reduce the total mana cost of your hand by 4 every turn I was sure to win with Darius. I'd say he's the easiest one to play with. He was easy or I just got lucky.
WOW. I defeated 10 Monsters as Darius, and completed the run... With Tess I defeated 90 (YES 90) monsters. The luck I had with rng was incredible

With Darius, I not only won on my first run, but on my second run that I needed to finish the quest, I won there too, he’s by far the easiest

in my warrior run i had for my first passive all my minions that cost 5 or more cost 5 and my second "passive" was a minion for 10 mana that had 15/15 that said that for every time i used my cannons it cost 1 less so i had ja 15/15 minion on turn 4 :D

I've actually never seen Darius's nemesis fight yet despite having multiple wins with him.
There was a bug at first where you didn't guaranteed run into nemesis before you get your first clear. If you beat Cannoneer before they fixed the bug, your last boss is random as if you already beat Lord Godfrey
Huh, I didn't know the mechanic was "Defeat your nemesis and then it can be other characters." Interesting. Well, I guess I never noticed it because of the Darius bug, really.
The new character in slay the spire is out! Can give it a shot? would be fun to see you play it!
Why did all the streamers I saw play against Raeth and not Godfrey as the final boss for Darius?
So to explain why everyone complains about Azalina when she is easy is simple. Trump is playing the button masher which hard counters Azalina. The cannons just instant win against Azalina, just like Tess instantly wins against The Whisperer because of rocks.

This dungeon run wasn't bad tbh, I honestly had a much harder time with Shaw...
Easiest hero to do to hardest for me was- Shaw, Darius, Tess, Toki. I just got insanely unlucky with Toki on all my spell cast even when re-doing with hero power And Tess I just kept getting my ass beat in by the dude whose minions all have +1/+1. Hagatha was an insane pushover tho

my dungeon run with darius was Extra damage + bonus cannon, mana reduction and another extra +1 damage so my cannons were doing stupid damage by the final boss and i was just spamming the button lol hardcore carried
Also anyone triggered by how badly Trump was using the cannon... guy doesn't realize that it refreshes after it kills, and the fact it works just like the chest pieces
And now I commit to the unheard of third comment. Raeth Ghostsong is one of the 6-7 bosses. Darius is broken and cannot fight his proper nemesis. You can also encounter the Bogwarden and Azalina as Darius' 8th boss.
What hero is this? Who is Darius? I thought that was Button-Masher 9000

When I went as toki, I got the card that swaps our hands.And I stole Barnabus from Cragtorr and laughed at that cheeky fucker.
Trump oneshots this guy like it's nothing, meanwhile this is the only guy I just can't seem to ever get a cleared run on. Tess was no problem, Shaw was no problem, Toki was a bit of a learning curve but didn't take that long either, but I just can't seem to find the sweet spot for Crowley. Either I spend my entire turn shooting cannons and eventually fall behind on board and lose or I fill up my board that opponent then uses some kind of trickery on to screw me over and I lose anyway. Guess I'll just have to keep trying...
I did all the inspire and it was a breeze with 1 mana damage with buffs every time

Should have chosen the first Canon Reduces a random card by 2, so more canon inspire cards would show up.
On Raeth I completely turned all his aoe off with a single skelemancer, he refused to pop it :D
