Ever since her incredible performance at Wimbledon ‘04, I have followed her career and never missed an opportunity to watch her play. The emotions she brought to the game and her relentless fighting spirit was always fascinating to witness and It was what made me so passionate about her! This is such a sad news for me and I have no doubt it is the same for women’s tennis too, apart from Serena, I don’t think there’s really anyone left to watch anymore! And what makes this news devastating is that I’m still waiting for her big comeback! I’m so going to miss you Sharapova! It’s not fair!
Changed the game? How so? And where does she rank with Serena, Graff, Seles, Evert, Navratilova, King, Court? She certainly ranks behind all of those players.
I choose to look at only the positives. She will be missed for her unmatched charisma and indomitable fighting spirit. She attracted millions to the sport. One of the last remaining global icons of Tennis.

I'm heartbroken by this news having followed Maria's career since 2004, yet in an odd way I am relieved. Regardless of your opinion on her 2016 suspension, you can't deny Maria is one of the sport's biggest icons. She won practically everything there was to win in tennis- 5 Grand Slam singles titles, the WTA Finals, most Tier I titles after Serena of the current generation, a Fed Cup and an Olympic silver medal. She was #1 in the world on several occasions and finished ten years ranked within the top 5. Her results aside, she was one of the biggest competitors the sport has ever seen. Despite a limited and technically flawed game and a frail, injury-prone body, she managed to leave her mark on the sport by never giving up, being a fierce competitor and having a strong work ethic. Overall, whatever she does next, I have no doubt she will excell in it as that's simply who she has always been. This truly feels like the end of an era. Thank you for the memories Maria.
Thank you Maria, for all these wonderful years. You were a great player and person, a true Champion, MY Champion and that of hundred of thousands of your other fans. Did I say something that was false ?
I Would love to see her on TV as a tennis commentator or doing films. Thank you #MariaSharapova for sharing your tennis talent with us. I will miss seeing you play. God bless!
Thank you Maria😭😭😭😭
Thank you Maria , you definitely where and always be "UNSTOPPABLE" ,You showed what determination, dedication and define that with hard work you can do anything . You have inspired thousands .Thanks a million
Heartbroken 😢
She knows how to gain attention to whoever is watching or hearing her playing. Sad to see her retired. She's never been the same after the doping scandal. They way the community treated her as if she had done a heinous crime to humanity. Poor Maria..
I got into tennis because of her! I feel sorry for her too the way she got treated. 😭
@@rogerdean3989 she got treated fine because she was incredibly gorgeous
amazing achievements but the doping scandal will always cloud them, especially given her inability to perform at a top level without using the banned substance.
It's her shoulder injury
Well said fella i agree with you.
Injuries and proliorities in life. It has nothing to do with drugs. Your just jealous of Maria's achievements
@@wel7652 I'm not jealous of Maria Sharapova. I have a lot of admiration for her fighting spirit and her achievements, but she used a banned substance and there is no question that she was never the same player when she wasn't using that drug--shoulder or not.
checkthis out80 she only used it for one tournament!
Mais uma que nós deixará chorando de saudade, até o tempo deixar em nossos corações.
Thanks a lot @ Maria for your great achievement and contribution to tennis saw your first match and you also deserved the best play at grand slam as a negative impact also # doping but being a Russian player a grand salaute
