This trailer looks so good it’s insane. I’m really hyped for this show and I hope it won’t fail
It's about time my favorite nerds react to this!
It's amazing so far.
Definitely didn't fail
It succeeded
When I first heard they were making an Andor show I had zero interest, but after the first trailer I was interested and now I'm dying to see it.
It's looking awesome.
the visuals are on movie quality it’s crazy
same
I went from "eh, they're making a show about a character i never cared much about" to looking back at thinking "wow, almost two years later and this is still one of my favourite pieces of star wars ever"
Blind Wave is getting deep and philosophical right out the gates.
😂😂😂 I was expecting this comment after seeing it’s a damn near 40 min video
The lads and their families are recovering so yeah, I feel that.
Enlightened Wave
Woke Wave
The idea of “I don’t care about this because I know what happens” thing is very silly to me, especially with Star Wars. You know Anakin becomes Vader and lives out the rest of his life until he is redeemed and later dies but you still cry when you’re watching Revenge of the Sith.
Because the movie is so bad?
@@mindwarr LMAO
@@mindwarr The most mid comment I’ve ever seen
I am personally excited for the show, mainly because it looks like it's being made at a high quality unlike (IMO) Boba & Obi Wan. However, I think "I don't care about this because I know what happens" is a fair criticism. It's not just about the lead and a bunch of supporting characters futures being known. It's about us getting yet again, more Skywalker era content. The Skywalker era has become oversaturated with content and here we are getting MORE of the Rebellion in that 'Star Wars Rebels' era. It's not just about "I know the main character dies in Rogue One" it's about "I know nearly everything that happens during this era AND I know the lead characters (almost) all die."
I imagine 'Acolyte' and the like can't get here fast enough. Even I, a hardcore Star Wars fan, am quite burnt out by the Skywalker era Star Wars content we're getting. Give me the Old Republic, the High Republic and give me post Episode 9 (could be a year, could be 20-1000 years, idc). If there is a Skywalker era I am most interested in getting stories about it would be pre-Episode 7 but so much of the sequel trilogy was garbage and disappointing that the idea of getting shows that build to those movies sounds like going to a restaurant for a 5 course meal knowing the final course (aka the main course) are trash and when I leave I'll have a bad taste left in my mouth. No matter how good the first few courses are, the main course is bad. That's why I'd rather them just time jump past Rey and the other sequel trilogy characters and start fresh in a post-ep 9 era.
@@nathanp2007 There’s quite literally no “Skywalker era” stuff here. Besides it being in between ROTS and R1, there’s no connection to the larger story of the Skywalkers. This is also a new story so saying we already know everything just isn’t true.
This show is basically set during the exact same time frame as Rebels. It's also about the early days of the Rebellion, just like Rebels. It also features Mon Mothma, just like Rebels did. The Ghost crew were even there with her when she united the Rebel cells into an Alliance. And of course there's the fact that Chopper was in Rogue One, as well as the Ghost, and Hera got a mention (and we know she was in the Battle of Scarif). There's no way this show doesn't cross over with Rebels even more. Even Saw Gerrera is common to both. Now we might get to see Thrawn, Jun Sato, Agent Kallus, the Ghost crew, Rex, and who knows who else. There's no reason any of them can't or shouldn't show up. Especially in season 2, since that will be set later on, most likely around the same time as seasons 2 - 4 of Rebels, when they actually met the other Rebel cells and went to Yavin IV, etc.
i just don't want to see a single light saber in this. not every star wars story needs to involve sith, jedi, or any other force sensitive people
@@zacharyjackson1829 i get you honestly, but at the same time seeing a live action ghost crew would just hit that star wars spot for me
We're getting the Rebels crossover we want in the Ahsoka, because going by the leaked footage it's like the direct continuation of Rebels, so don't aspect that in Andor, it's going to be the series that show the grittier side of the rebellion.
I feel like this will be a very miniscule story following the white suites governor of this sector and their assistant, Cassion Andor and atleast two Senators and how their stories entwine through the agency of the few and the poor on this barren looking planet. Very slow-paced with broad strokes - and all new characters.
I don’t think we see anybody major from rebels. Would be cool to see them mention a ghost crew that’s wrecking the empire. Would be nice to see a hologram of Rex haha
... and it turned out to be ...
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Way better than the trailer! (which is superb)
I’m glad I didn’t watch any trailer before the show. Reveals too much. Fun though going back to see people’s reactions. And yes the series is fantastic!
Eric getting chills and not knowing if it's from Covid is somehow hilarious
Missed you guys. Glad you're getting better.
The Imperial Court is the OG King's Landing. All deception and sniping and backstabbing. I am beyond excited to get Star Wars finally filling in this time period against that sort of vibe
Love to see y'all back! Andor looks amazing
“I got chills, and they’re multiplying.” RIP, ONJ. Not intentional, but too soon.
It's never too soon. Don't be a baby
What's that reference?
@@Thehardtruth69 It’s a line from Grease (1978) that stared Olivia Newton-John, who passed away a few days ago.
Not too soon.
Did you get a skirt with that whine?
I have been highly anticipating this show since it was announced. I loved Cassian's character from the beginning.
Same here. There's no way that this show isnt going to be good.
This is one of the best trailers I’ve ever seen. The music and the shots and the dialogue are all incredible, all without giving much away towards the plot.
And this is all coming from someone who hasn’t been liking Star Wars recently
When I saw this trailer I was like "how is this a series this feels more like a movie". The visuals the trailer showed were amazing. I'm so excited for this show
When Calvin said "I got chills, that are multiplying" I couldn't help but think of Olivia Newton John who passed away yesterday. RIP 🕊
Who’s that?
@@lieutenantwolf5437 - A minute's silence, for this kid that has never seen Greece.
@@W0NK042 and is that a problem
@@lieutenantwolf5437 - Only in that you've missed a defining piece of musical cinema (If you wish to see such things). ✌🏼
@@W0NK042 ok then
Fun fact: The large imperial ship with the satellite dishes on that Skarsgaard is flying to/targeting (maybe?) is the original design by Colin Cantwell (pre McQuarrie) for the Imperial Star Destroyer before it evolved into what we now know.... It was also in 'Solo' where it was called an 'Arrestor Cruiser' Nice little cameo
Andor looks so good. Glad everyone is over the covid hump!
It's RIDICULOUS how much better this looks than anything Star Wars TV they've done so far, and I LOVED Mandalorian but this genuinely looks as good as any big budget movie. I am SO ready for this show!
@@Ebosan87 I never thought I’d be more hyped and impressed by a trailer than Mando. But here I am.
@@Ebosan87 Agreed but to be fair Mandalorian is a much more personal story so it make sense that its not as "grandiose"
@@talizorahnarrayya5916 That is what I loved about Mandalorian, that it was this very personal story that tried and succeeded for the most part to stay self-contained.
Andor is clearly EPIC in scale, and a completely different project than anything TV Star Wars we've seen thus far. It's a completely different kind of show and I can appreciate both flavors. The thing is many try and attempt EPIC and most often it falls flat, this one LOOKS epic and very grand in scope and for that I have to give props to the team behind it.
Not a big Star Wars guy, tho at almost 50 now, I do have fleeting memories of seeing the first one in the theaters w/ my folks & my plastic, glow-in-the-dark lightsaber. Wasn’t a fan of the middle 3 films, but the Force Awakens got me back into it. And out of the recent ones, I probably enjoyed Rouge One the most, so I got the Hulu/Disney+ package just to see Andor & then rewatch it w/ you guys. Looking forward to it✌
Blind wave and Star Wars. A match made in heaven.
Been waiting for this!! Welcome back to the studio!
I love that it looks like we are getting the two sides of the Rebellion's birth. The upper echelon (The Senate/Nobility) and the people in the dirt getting the boot of the Empire.
This is the reaction I've been waiting for!
Oh have I been waiting for the Blindwave reaction to this trailer 🤩
I am so excited for Genevieve Reilly - can you imagine? All her scenes get deleted and then years later she suddenly gets tons of roles in both live action/animation, lol.
The show is a prequel to a prequel but a sequel to a prequel.
“I’ve got chills. They’re multiplying.” Oof. That’s crazy timing with Olivia Newton-John dying yesterday.
I had the same thought.
Araon with his bad timing. First Betty White and now Olivia Newton.
Glad you’re feeling better.
Since this trailer came out I’ve seen a lot of people turning on the volume and acting as if it is a bad thing which is very weird to me because I think it’s probably one of the best things recent Star Wars has brought and that’s what Star Wars has always been about pushing the boundaries of what technology you can use for a movie or a show
There’s nothing wrong with the Volume, but it’s a tool that isn’t always right for every situation. Its weaknesses started to become noticeable in Boba Fett and Obi-Wan, so I think people are looking forward to a series that won’t be subject to those weaknesses. It’s an amazing piece of technology, but like is often the case with digital vs practical effects, you want to judiciously use them for the right scenarios.
@@joegreene7619 are you 12?
@@joegreene7619 you sound like you need to get a life
As with any tool, it's all in how you use it.
The volume itself isn't inherently bad at all, the way it's being used to make wildly expensive shows look cheap as fuck more and more over time sure is though. It's not a one size fits all solution and plenty of scenes actively look worse for it being treated as such. when the series is coming from a monolithic media conglomerate with infinite funds and resources there's no excuse to not just hire a decent location scout.
I knew from the moment this show was announced and they said what it’d be about that it’d be amazing. Everybody always said “why are we getting a Cassian show?” BECAUSE IT’S GONNA BE FUCKING SICK THAT’S WHY!!
Same! When they announced this a few years ago, I was the MOST excited for both this and Kenobi. It's not even about Cassian specifically (although I DO think his character has a lot of potential) but the whole era and events he was involved in. I've been perplexed to see how so many people seemed to brush it off. That said, Rogue One is in my top 3 Star Wars movies so...anything going back that era is awesome in my book.
If you told me this was all cut footage from Rogue One I'd believe you. It looks GORGEOUS and like it's 100% cinema quality. Bravo to the director, cinematographer and everyone else involved. Wow. Most cinematic and beautiful Star Wars series yet.
It's INSANE that a story about a not known before Rogue One rebel spy gets the movie and now this gorgeous show and yet Obi Wan got what he did. Compare the visuals in this trailer alone to Boba Fett and Obi Wan and the difference is stark. Is that budget or is that 'Andor' having super talented people making this series while the others left a lot lacking?
I think its all filmed in the UK, looks like the highlands in some scenes!
The dam you see them running along / scaling down is The Cruachan Dam in western Scotland.
I’ve been looking forward to this! Hope you feel fully better soon!
i can always appreciate the giddiness of long-time star wars fans whenever new material is released, its like we're children all over again
This is the reaction I've been waiting for.
Omg im so happy to see Eric now mentioning stuff from the High Republic while consuming other types of Star Wars, hope they cover most if not all of it for the podcast cause it's so good 🙏
High republic gang rise up!
Glad to see you guys back at it. It's been awhile since I had the cooties and I'm still not recovering. I feel you Calvin. I watched your reaction to the 90s Mortal Kombat film last night. It's gem. Honestly Andor looks pretty good. Cassian was my fav character from Rogue one so I'm in. Have a good day guys
Is it weird that I love seeing you guys get excited for star wars even though I myself am not a fan of star wars
Been waiting for this reaction!!!! Thank you
I'm really interested (and hope the show explores this) in the line at which Mon Mothma and all of the rebel leadership goes from "we can fix this from within" being part of the system, to full armed rebellion against the Galactic Empire. What's the tipping point when the natural inclination would be to kinda go with the flow, at what point do they go "civil war time"? Bearing in mind this is pre-DeathStar, which I always thought from the original trilogy was the first big public display of overt evil intent to the galaxy. In Rebels and Rogue One there's clearly still enough faith in the system still, that missions revolve around gathering evidence or key individuals to testify infront of the Imperial Senate. Star Wars is always at its best when it's inspired by real history, despite being a galaxy of magical space-wizards, so I'm curious on this point.
I think it'll either be the anti-alien discriminatory laws, or details of the Tarkin Doctrine being leaked before it's implemented, that pushes the anti-Palpatine senators to rebellion
This is the kind of thing I think about a lot, to be honest. Because, truthfully - even though it sounds cool/heroic - armed rebellions/civil wars are RARELY actually better for the 'little people' (and sometimes the thing that replaces it can be just as bad) so at what point do you decide this is justified, and are average people justified in just viewing them as terrorists? I also wonder if there were groups (in Star Wars) trying to change things via non-violent/civil disobedience types of movements (not that it would matter to the Empire, lol).
Beem waiting for your reaction to Andor. Good to see that you're doing well
Happy to have you back!!!
So glad to see you guys back! Hope you all continue to recover and feel better. Amazing reactions as always!
Yesssssss My guys!!
They really called the show And/Or.
So Glad you fellas are back and good!!
Welcome back dudes! So pumped for this show. Take it easy getting back into it ❤
was so excited to see you guys react to this trailer! so excited for this show!
Off topic but this channel deserves millions of subs and views. I love all the content
I just noticed that the base of the center of the Senate floor has been changed to resemble the Imperial insignia. I LOVE DETAILS.
I've never really been extremely interested in Star Wars. I appreciate and heavily respect its impact, story, and history. But I experience the hype and love of Star Wars through fans just like all of you. You guys are my window into the love of Star Wars that generations of people have experienced.
One thing that I love about this trailer is that it doesnt necessarily look like the Star Wars we know, it looks like Rogue One
I have never seen anything Star Wars related in my life, and yet I'm here
Like Eric, I have been waiting for this series since it was announced. Hope we get to see Mon Mothma's relationship with Manny Bothans before he gave his life for the Rebellion.
I missed on location filming for Star Wars. I think that’s the reasons this show looks “better” than mando and book of boba. Plus tony Gilroy is working in this. It all the things for a good show.
I loved Marvel Comic con reactions. This trailer for Andor looks great.
Yeaaaaaaaah ! i was waiting on Your reaction on this trailer i'm so happy !!!!!!
Better Call Saul proved all the prequel haters wrong. If anything, a well made prequel can be better than sequels.
Guys, with so many clone trooper shots what are the chances of us seeing at least one Clone Trooper with his helmet off and seeing a de-aged Temeura Morrison? Imagine getting some time with a live action Commander Cody or Captain Howzer!
I'm glad you're recovering. Keep well hydrated. 🌿 Thanks, Eric! Thanks, Calvin! Thanks, Aaron! 🌌
Thank you for giving us time stamps when you're talking about scenes 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REACTION!
5:29 … and they’re multiplying? 😉
RIP Olivia Newton John
"Obi-Wan," (as much as I liked it) had the feel of a TV show, but "Andor" looks epic and feels like it belongs in a theatre.
To quote Dooku, “I’ve been looking forward to this moment”
yessss been looking forward to this
W vid. Glad you guys are okay.
YEEEES!!! ive been waiting for so long!
That listening post looking shift is actually the original design for the Star Destroyer and was also seen in a deleted scene for solo
I kept coming back to the bit where that chief security guy says "There's fermenting out there, son... *Pockets* are fomenting" because I kept thinking how fucking awesome his accent is. Then I finally realized where I recognized that voice from; It's the chief miner from Chernobyl!
"We're still wearin' the fucken' hats!"
When they announced Andor and showed off some concept, there was a shot of a Venator so chances are, in a flashback at least, we’ll get some scrapper guild-type stuff. Plus, the square looking ship-crane thing is a design from Fallen Order
Idk if i saw this right…… but the guy laying on the bed towards the end?….. is that cal kestis?👀 he looked A LOT like cameron monaghan. Would be amazing
@5:35 well played sir. Well played. "YOU BETTER SHAPE UP!!!" RIP ONJ. Glad you guys are on the mend.
I like how you all came back philosophical!
Scotland, not New Zealand ;P The dam around 2 mins into the trailer is Ben Cruachan where I used to go hiking
It’s not New Zealand, it’s actually the highlands of Scotland, I worked on this set
Welcome back!
Glad to see y’all healthy 💯
This is literally Game of Thrones in space and I'm all for it
The only star wars reactions I care about 🙏🏼
3:47 When Eric and Calvin miss the Clone Troopers part
Hope you are all doing better! Still dealing with some post COVID fatigue
glad you recover, keep this up, sry english 9s my3 languege
2:18 I love that Eric used the same argument as Gilroy, the writer for the series
Calvin is funny AF in this one.
This looks like Star Wars Game of Thrones and that’s amazing!
The last mailbag alerted me to the fact that Eric says "pitstdchure" instead of picture. Can't unhear haha
The trailer OST slaps
Guys, I'm about 95% positive that's Cal at 2:10 in the trailer?!?
Also.. WELCOME BACK!!
Really happy to hear you guys are doing better. 👍🏼🍻
Stellan Skarsgård! It's looking great.
I CANT WAIT!!! Idk how Rogue One did it so well, but the atmosphere that movie gave off is my absolute favorite Star Wars feeling, and by golly it looks like they did it again. Its just the right amount of seriousness, badass scenery and fights, it feels super grounded while also being space and shit.
September 21st cannot come any slower
I love the Trailer
Genuinely one of the best trailers I’ve ever seen
When I saw Skarsgard, he instantly reminded me of Garm Bel Iblis from the old Legends. He was one of the three senators that really built up the rebellion along with Mon Mothma and Bail Organa.
The initial mountains are in Scotland.
September 21st? Perfect day for my bday on 22nd. Just Rambo it Andor!
Prey reaction ASAP please!! Also, Willow trailer… i didn’t see one. Lol 😝. Glad you are all back and feeling better. Much love Blind Wave crew!!
Start of the trailer was filmed in Pitlochry, Scotland if nobody else has mentioned
Welcome Back!
I've always been stoked for Andor! Even more than the Obi-Wan show. My favorite stories of new canon has been by far the stories following non-force sensitive characters, they feel more human and gray in their attitude, actions, and goals. Alphabet squadron trilogy and The two Battlefront books are my favorite books I've read and Rogue One fits in nicely with those books, as well. If they can capture the tension of the ground combat in the first Battlefront book and character complexity of Alphabet Squadron, that would be fantastic. They are great examples of gray and grounded tone and that I feel is missing a bit from star wars.
Sidenote: Them not using volume/stagecraft really shows. The environments look and feels alive, most if not all is done on location. This might be the first star wars show to feel like the movies, if that makes sense.
oh my god about freaking time. I've been checking for this reaction to drop since 2 hours after the damn trailer dropped.
You might of missed that the guys have been off for 3 weeks with COVID and have only just recovered.
