Taylor Swift is definitely a phenomenon. I don't get it, but I really appreciate her ability to get folks to register to vote. That in and of itself makes her a topic for discussion. Not who she's dating or not or what team she's rooting for this week.
Agreed. I think she’s up to par with people like Michael Jackson and Britney just in her hay day. I think her penmanship is quite extraordinary the only thing I worry about is that at that level of fame so many people just wanna take advantage of you, things don’t feel genuine enough. Plus, the ex girlfriend apparently gave her a warning about him being a cheater so… hopefully it doesn’t end that way because she seems like a down to earth girl and deserves a good love story.
I seriously don't understand the hoopla surrounding her (or Beyonce for that matter), but I'm sure she's a very nice person and good luck to her. Especially if she is getting young people to think and be socially responsible. My only concern is that they're just following blindly. What if she used her influence for bad things - with great power comes great responsibility and all that.

I don’t think you got the point. Whoopi’s point was the topic was Taylor bringing more attention to football, with football being the topic. Everyone else didn’t care about football Omg Taylor and her new bf. Whoopis was saying then if no one cares, why did the vote on it for hot topics because as the moderator she has to ask them questions and keep them on topic, but they were off topic and later they will have a discussion about why they weren’t on topic. So Whoopi was making a point to say pick topics y’all want to talk about so they can stay on topic.

@@joannebaker4925 That’s what THEY wanted to talk about, but that wasn’t the topic. So the producers will have a talk with them after the show saying they need to stay on topic. Mostly with Whoopi since she’s the moderator. That’s why Whoopi asked Brian if she “had” to say those things, because she does, and she’s required to keep them on topic. But they are the ones who voted for the topic but didn’t stick to it and Whoopi will be the one to get an earful because of it. That’s why she was asking them repeatedly about football.

I have a personal connection with T Swift's music. I was homeless (not on the street) back in 2009 in Tallahassee, Florida. An older white guy who I bunked with in the shelter would have her song "Fifteen" as his alarm tone. I would always wake up bright and early for school to her voice. "...cus when you're 15, somebody tells you they love, you gotta believe them..."

Taylor Swift is an amazing talent. Arguably a generational talent in music and songs. To Swift's credit, breakups are difficult to many people. And for Swift to have ability to channel her negative emotions to a song and to prevent herself from falling into depression, that's a major win in my book. An example for everyone. And Taylor Swift wasn't the only one that has written songs from their personal breakups. Alanis Morissette with "You Outta Know." A massive hit in 1995 and an anthem for breakups in the mid to late 90s.

I don't see them staying together for long(sorry)! All this hype/coverage/frenzy puts too much pressure on such a new/recent relationship. Time to educate yourself on the financial history of the country because there were many financial crisis periods, the wars ppl grew up with, the hard work and suffering working two and three jobs to support your family or get a house. Multiple generations living in one house so each could save a down payment. Many young ppl will barely work one job full time. Want a house, work hard and get an extra job.
