As a British viewer I have to admit I chuckled at the full description of the kettle and how you switch it on. 😊 It's literally the first appliance you buy for a home here and pretty much everyone would pop out to replace it the very day it inevitably breaks. I'm not sure what your water quality is like where you are but if it's a hard water area I would put filtered water into it (brita jug or if you have a filter on your tap or fridge) because otherwise you'll be descaling it regularly.
Me too. It also is the only appliance I have on the counter, it's used far too much to put away. I use it for cafetiere coffee, tea, to boil water for cooking, so many uses! I wouldn't be without it!
Here in the U.S.,it’s the same mind set (for most)about a coffee maker. In fact I always keep a nice,$3.00 yard sale coffee maker on hand, because I know that THE MINUTE ours breaks,my husband would have to run out and buy a new one!
The dish with the "H" would have been part of a "vanity set." That dish would have kept a cleansing balm (think Ponds), there would also have been a powder dish and brush, comb, powder puff and possible a nail set. The monogram vanity set was ver popular in the 20's-50's. It's so cool that your Mom found that.
Volunteering for VBS wears me out every. Single. Year. It takes a toll mentally and physically, for sure! My family knows that I need to decompress for a while after each day of VBS.
As a 55 year-old, with 3 grown children, I just can’t get enough of your videos. You’re so inspiring and so interesting to watch. Thank you for sharing your time and life and light with us.
Oh my goodness when my kids were young I worked VBS feeding kids and we had hundreds of kids! Super fun but so exhausting by the time Friday came around I was so grateful.
Love your very organized home! I have been slowly organizing mine but it has been a slow process... it is hard for me to let go of things. There are a lot of memories there.😢
What a treat to have with my coffee this morning!! I was feeling very negative about waking up to a messy kitchen and drop area after a late night of fireworks and family fun. Thanks for longer a VLOG, it’s always uplifting and brings me peace to watch you and your family. Now on to conquer the mess before my 4 wake up!!
If I have said it once, I've said it a MILLION times.....I just LOVE your channel! Your personality is so warm and pleasant. Hanging out with you is like chatting over the fence with a GOOD neighbor! Where may I ask did you get your tea towel? No the handmade one. Been looking for one similar.
That style of kettle with the gooseneck spout us also great for making pourover coffee. I don't know if you ever make it that way. The kettle is gorgeous!
Your description of your camp volunteer experience is pretty much a portion of what teachers must navigate everyday. It’s exhausting and a reason why teachers need a summer break 😂
Thank you for sharing a glimpse of the kiddos I’ve been a subscriber since Evie was a baby and I smile when I see how big they have grown up! Let us know how you like the kettle!
Sipping my coffee as I watch! 😉… Also, I know you’re extremely busy but are you going to bring back the $5 Goodwill Challenge? I w been watching previous videos of yours lately 😅
Love your new kettle, you will find it so useful. Here in the U.K. they are thought of as a necessity, unheard of not to have a kettle in your kitchen.
Enjoyable vlog. Loving your basement craft area and with the new wall artwork. When you get more artwork you must move the toast poster over to the play kitchen area, it will look so cute there. Haha. Love seeing your home and family life.
Love the idea of gallery wall for kids art work. When my son was young we had a wall of fame of all his artwork and trophy’s and award ribbons etc down our hallway that lead to the bedrooms. He is 35 now 😬
Loved this day in the life vlog! I always love to see what going on in your sweet household. I volunteered at VBS for years when my boys were young. A blessing I will never forget. The basement is looking great with all the changes you've made over the last year or so. Have a blessed day, Hilary!💖
VBS...I so enjoyed participating in it as a child, then with my own children as well as other children. So full and fun! Blessings, and hope the rains slow down for you.
Hi there Hilary. Enjoyed the video. The artwork you’re adding to the craft room looks so cute. Dinner looked delicious 🍔😊. Yes, this weather has been crazy with all the rain 🤦🏻♀️. Have a nice day today 😁.
Im from the uk and i dont know how americas dont have electric kettles ! Use my everyday multiple times. They dont seem common place in the states. Love that kettle and it suits your kitchen really well.
Good Morning! That was so charming, homey and fun,! Thank you!! I hope your art room comes together nicely! You are certainly off to a good start!! Take care! :)
Enjoyed this vlog so much! Your crafting area for the children is really starting to take shape so beautifully. I think that lovely jar with the”H”on it might be an antique face powder jar. It is so, so pretty. 😍
VBS exhaustion is so real!! Did your church do Kingdom Keepers?? Looks like the VBS we just did! So fun! My kids are 18& 14, both worked all week like I did & I think we all took naps afterward almost every day. 😂 I always love your vlogs & often think, "Our families would be friends if we lived in the same area!" Craft space looks great, electric tea kettle 👌 the deconstructed burgers, yum! And that yellow batter bowl for the popcorn?!?😍
I quit teaching at VBS after last year. I was 70 then and I decided even though I love the kids and doing the lessons I was more than wiped out and that would be the last time.
Hi Hilary! Do you have a link to the recipe for those muffins! I always have sourdough starter on hand, and lots of yogurt! So I imagine those will be perfect! Thanks!
I just ate a burger bowl tonight. Mine was over lettuce. And I think your area is getting all the rain. Here, where I live in Minnesota, we are in DESPERATE need of rain. It's been weeks since our area has had rain.
What an enjoyable video, thanks! Would you pretty please share the recipe for the cupcakes? I’m trying to use my sourdough in other ways but so far I’ve only had success with pancakes 😂
So happy to see you today happy 4 th. I use to do day camp for the sheriffs office when my son was young in California and I almost died the first day lol I’ll never forget 😂😂😂😂 I went to West Virginia and Washington DC it was a great time
Edit: I just added that copper teakettle to my wishlist.///Your vlogs are my favorite here on YT! Your Vlogtober and Vlogmas are ones I rewatch all year long!❤❤❤❤
Okay! Question about your sofa! Is it hard to keep clean with kids? I’m considering a similar style! I just noticed it in the background and I love it. I’m just nervous about pulling the trigger on the purchase. Also, I’m leaning towards a slip covered style so I can wash. Thanks!
Every Australian home has an electric kettle and before electricity a stove top one. It seems strange to see U.S. people introducing them just now, interesting the way our cultures are different. Your kettle is super cute. Love your art wall.
Hi Hilary, quick question. Is your full Amazon favorites list no longer up? Clicked on the link from the drop-down, and only saw your seat cushions. Looking for your leather conditioner, that I thought was in your faves. I obtained a $218 leather bag for free recently!
Hey I have finally made a sour dough starter for the first time ever. I am not a baker and only like easy. Can you share a couple easy sour dough recipes and an easy bread one?
Hello I always love watching your videos. I have never thought of using coconut oil to remove eye makeup, does it work on waterproof mascara? and does it leave it greasy. What is the brand of your facial cleaner/wash. Take care and God Bless you and your lovely family. I have been watching your channel since Eve was a baby can believe how your family has grown. AP
Yes it gets off any and all eye makeup and I don’t find it leaves a greasy residue since I follow it up with my face wash. The scrub I mentioned in this video is from Cleen Beauty
Do you use a cotton ball with the coconut oil to take off eye makeup or do you just use your fingertips? I'd like to try it. Any tips? Oh and the container your mum gave you is gorgeous. Thanks, Jerusha (John's wife)

I volunteered at our church VBS couple weeks ago…. I’m 50😜and let me tell ya, I was exhausted
Bless you!!
I hear ya! Ours was last week and it took me days to recover lol (I’m 64 yo). It was a lot of fun and the kids were wonderful but boy was a tired!
Oh my goodness when my kids were young I worked VBS feeding kids and we had hundreds of kids! Super fun but so exhausting by the time Friday came around I was so grateful.
I’m a retired teacher who has worked in VBS for forty years. There is no tired like VBS tired!😉
Love your very organized home! I have been slowly organizing mine but it has been a slow process... it is hard for me to let go of things. There are a lot of memories there.😢

We did Keepers of the Kingdom for our VBS too. “Aint no tired like VBS tired.”
There is beauty in regular days! Always love your videos! 💗☺️ That napkin is adorable!💕
Love the vintage glass that holds tour coconut oil. So pretty
Your description of your camp volunteer experience is pretty much a portion of what teachers must navigate everyday. It’s exhausting and a reason why teachers need a summer break 😂
Great vlog! The H on your jar could have been a Helene Curtis promo product from years ago. Enjoy the summer!
Poster source sounds really cool! I have never seen anyone sponsored by them, but they sound awesome.
Electric kettles are great. I've been using one for years.
Oh my goodness, I remember VBS & volunteering, exhausting but worth it.
Thank you for sharing a glimpse of the kiddos I’ve been a subscriber since Evie was a baby and I smile when I see how big they have grown up! Let us know how you like the kettle!

Loved the vlog! The teapot is beautiful! I think everyone is experiencing so much rain this summer.
Enjoy the rest of summer.
We are getting decent rain in Nebraska and we never get rain past May or early June. We are shocked but I’m loving it so much!
Nice summer vlog! You will LOVE your electric kettle and may even become a tea drinker! They are real game changers for all hot water needs…
Good for you volunteering in VBS
You are doing such a great job Hillary! Thanks so much for this video! When you get a chance please could you share your popcorn method. Thank you! x

When I help with VBS I can't do much of anything else. We lay low that week and I plan easy dinners.🙂
Love these traditional vlogs! Also love seeing you wear more jewelry-beautiful!
Your vlogs are so fun. Your new electric kettle is lovely, and perfect for your house. We use ours many times a day.😊
I love cloth napkins and table covers too they brighten my day

I love your vlogs so much! You keep me company as I clean out my homeschool closet today :)
I'm helping with our VBS next week, and we're doing the same theme! It'll be fun, but I hear you on the tiring part.. 😅

Perhaps it’s because tea isn’t as popular here in America.
Always love your vlogs

Usually the refrigerator section near the pickles!

Hello Hillary and family! Those posters are just so precious. Love that hutch. STTB
I have six kiddos at home, four of them girls. We would never, ever be able to live with one brush!!!

I use a tissue 💛
Great video.
What color are the walls and trim in your main living areas?
Sherwin Williams anew gray, and simply white by BM color matched to Behr for the white in the dining room/kitchen 💛
I know there is video on how you care for your butcher c block.counter.but can you tell me how?do i coat with a clear something?
Ours are sealed with polyurethane so I don’t have any maintenance with them other than washing with soap and water 💛
