  • NOTE: Future Hazbin Hotel episodes will likely be edited differently. I had more leeway with this one (I think) since they posted for free on UA-cam, but the rest are from a premium streaming service (Prime) and will have to be more strictly edited. Just a heads-up!
Today we react to Episode 1 "OVERTURE" of Hazbin Hotel on Amazon Prime from the amazing Vivziepop and Amazon!

40:07 I took him being able to grab her as a testament to the fact that he could’ve done it at any time, including when he tricked her. he tricked her to embarrass her and throw her off her rhythm, and him being able to easily grab her without charlie being able to do anything in return (since we saw his hand go blue when he made contact with her) shows how powerful he is.

This is a really good thought. It makes sense that he might have had the ability the whole time but wanted to embarrass her.

    Some comments:
    - the original VAs not coming back isn't because they aren't union. That's been debunked. For example, Angeldust's VA, he also re-auditioned but Blake Roman beat him to the role. Sometimes, it's just like that and the reason is nothing as sensational as social media says it to be.
    - Amir Talai, Alastor's voice actor, is who Edward Bosco based off his Alastor performance on in the pilot episode. Vivzie heard Talai when he sang You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile in a broadway show and she thought he sounded perfect as Alastor.
    - KeeKee is a cat and is the "key" to the hotel.
    ETA:
    - Amir Talai also voiced Tom Trench.
    - Lucifer was cast down because he directly defied his superiors when he gave the Apple of Knowledge. My interpretation is that It wasn't a mistake to him when he did that but in the eyes of the higher ups, it was.

Apparently the cat’s name is Keekee, and is the key to the hotel. I have no idea why the key is also a cat, though. 😅
It hasn’t been confirmed in the show itself, but from what I can gather, when angels enter Hell, they take on a more demonic appearance, and supposedly the reverse would happen if a demon were to enter Heaven, taking on a more angelic appearance. It’s the same thing that happens when a sinner dies and their human soul takes on its demon form that reflects their life and how they died.
I think the exterminator angels also use specific uniforms and masks to look more intimidating, so we don’t actually know what they look like underneath that. (There’s even a fan theory that Vaggie is a fallen or ex-angel, because of the X over her eye, like the exorcist angels, and the fact that she carries an angelic spear.)
The pilot is considered “soft canon” as the events in it are canonical, but the visuals and voices have changed quite a bit. 😊

Same. Dad was a preacher. However, at one church, he was friends with a closeted gay man who was the sound tech guy at the church. He didn't tell my sister and i about his orientation until after we moved away. Dad knew all along and didn't care. What the fanatics seem to forget is that GOD IS LOVE!!!! They also tend to forget that the Bible was written for its time. The whole anti-gay agenda was most likely in response to a population crisis, like what Japan is currently facing. Deaths outweighing births.

@@thebeardedbrony9586With all due respect, God is meant to be all-powerful and all-knowing, as well as definitionally good in all that he does. Was this really his best solution? This just kind of sounds like cope tbh, nothing God is ever said to do really indicates love or goodness, the bible just kind of gaslights you into thinking he is loving and good and tells you to ignore the several genocides he directly commits, often due to his own ego

    • @thebeardedbrony9586

Old testament, God is indeed more wrathful. My only way to somewhat make a modern parallel is God is the parent trying to show tough love to get his children in line to behave. New testament. Jesus is trying to show more compassionate love, more forgiving. Two differing parenting styles exhibited. Not sure how well that parallel comes across, but that is my initial thought when reading the reply.

Sure, but it's pretty clear both Adam and Lute are bad people currently making "mistakes" and they are not being cast out.
Lute literally took out Vaggie's eye and tore off her wings then abandoned her in hell because Vaggie spared a scared child during the extermination.
Fact of the matter is, when Lute said that angels do not make mistakes, she was wrong.
