When the EU banned lightbulbs they immediately clarified that heatlamps for animals still was allowed. I worked at a Pet shop, and we never had any panicking like this.
Yeah unfortunately the US Department of Energy actually did the opposite! I.e., clarified that reptile heat bulbs are not exempt
@@AnimalsatHomePodcast That’s so ignorant. It’s not only reptiles that have the need for heat bulbs. Sometimes (not often) the EU does some good things. The same thing we had with the T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes ban, UV light for animals is still being allowed.
I called them once to help rescue a very sick beardie whose owner refused to take care of… whoever I talked to on the phone accused ME of trying to “get someone else to foot the bill”
I explained to him that I offered to take care of the beardie with correct care but the owner was essentially my landlord and said I couldn’t keep lights, heat, a 40gal tank (it was in a 20!!!!) etc. so even though I wanted to take the animal, I wasn’t allowed to do it correctly.
I don’t trust NERD now at all. They don’t care about animals. Just clout.
Thankfully the beardie ended up getting adopted by a vet through the MSPCA ❤ poor thing had severe MBD and malnourishment so there couldn’t have been a better outcome. I miss her ❤
NERD does a lot of clickbaiting like this. I like their content and I think they're good guys but they have a real knack for stoking controversy with their media output

I think Kevin is great when it comes to animal behavior I think he does a great job at teaching it. But his content team isn’t great. Donny rapture is always attacking people and starting issues, when it comes to husbandry knowledge I hope they start doing better.
Donny Rapture also told his viewers to send death threats to two different people outside the country for criticizing NERD's "procedures".
Donny left a while ago which is why things have been quiet. I feel like the recent stuff has been an attempt to recoup the views they stopped getting after that, the bites stuff as well as this
