Follow up after two years my panel is still going strong. I have two videos showing my panel. I have not added another can yet still going strong on the first can of Flexx Seal.
Just like putting hundreds of dollars , right in your pocket. Those look awesome. Is that stuff made for fixing those? It looks like it did a great job. Great find man.
HOWdy S-W-F, Thanks for the VIDEO I used a "SPAR URETHANE" Clear Outdoor Marine Grade coating I had previously used this on my 1995 HARLEY-DAVIDSON DYNA Tank Gauge that was "cloudy" & it has lasted 5 years COOP ..
Did you ever connect these panels to see how much wattage you could get out of them? You and another youtuber using Rustoleum were the only ones that had follow up data on fixing a solar panel.
It has done good I've left it in the rain snow and all the harsh weather we've had around here and it's still in the same condition as the day I did it , even without clouding or fogging up
@@singlewillowfarm3937 Thanks for the reply. Mine is still working as well. Curious how long it will last but i figured it was worth a try as the Dealer gave this one to me so i have only the price of the can of Flex Seal in it.
@@PapaPR3232 im in the same boat you are. the company i work for installed a multi million dollar solar field in a partnership with duke energy. im not sure of the exact price but they have to pay for the ones that get broken over time to be recycled, so i swoop in and offer to take them off their hands for no charge
@@singlewillowfarm3937 Sweat deal! Everything i have read so far says the coatings people try to put on will eventually peel off but your post was the only one i saw that tried Flex Seal and i already coated mine before seeing your post. Since it was a free panel and i had a can i gave it a try. So far so good. Even if i only get a year or two out of it i figure its worth it.
Still holding up good, I have done a second one and mounted them on top of my building(video coming soon). Two of them together are putting out around 300 to 320 watts. Thats about half of what they would produce new, but its a free solar panel with 8 bucks of flex seal on it so ill take what I can get lol

Hey, thank you for your video. How is the panel holding up with the flex seal?

Thanks for the VIDEO

What kind of efficiency are you getting?

no i have not tried that yet
Would the consistency allow you to apply it to a panel still mounted at an angle on the roof?
Yes it is quite thick, I don't believe you would have an issue with that
@@singlewillowfarm3937 Thanks for that info!
I just tried this before i saw your video. How has it held up?
Two weeks with no answer... I doesn't look promising...

It will not work for any length of time. I sent a email to Flex Seal this week and they stated it will not last and will turn yellow. Good luck.
8 months later.. how is it holding up? What's the wattage output?

Do you see any oxidation or discoloration?
Could have done without the music.
